AIM LOG: Kitsune Mistress Nyoko & _ p a o cx Tarik, in his mortal guise, leaned down and started lapping at the surface of the little pond he happened upon while he'd been walking not too long ago. He just woke up from a little nap and, feeling a little more parched than he had when he first arrived, had decided to take a drink before moving on. Once he was done he lifted his head and stared blankly out into the distance, feeling less and less up to the task of walking. With a sigh the male moved back to the little source of shade that the tree nearby provided and lay down, gaze returning to the horizon. "I won't make it to another shelter by nightfall, I don't think.." he said to himself, though it was more an excuse to stay at that partifular oasis for just a bit longer. The god felt lazy, but he'd never admit to it.Aang couldn't even remember how long he'd been traveling now. It was long enough that he'd not only grown into a lanky, awkward stage; but he'd even grown past that and into a rather elegant cheetah. With a small sigh, the now fully grown Avatar trotted forward. He was due to meep back up with Eupe now that he'd finished up his business in the Achana. A small smile found it's way on his muzzle then. Maluuni was doing great with the little ones... His first cubs... Although out of them, Malu seemed like the closest to a true Airbender. But he'd let her stay with her mother. She had to find her own path, after all. Just as he had...As he stared off into the distance his pale blue eyes caught sight of a passerby. A cheetah, from what he could tell, as it was much too slender to be either lion or leopard. Male or female he couldn't tell just yet, but either way the other seemed to be heading for his little oasis. Not that he owned the place, but Tarik did like his privacy. Still, if it was just passing through he figured it'd only take a sip of water, maybe stop and rest for a little bit, then move on. Just as he had planned from the beginning.. yet here he was. The god heaved a sigh and watched the other carefully, waiting to see if it would stop by or not.And indeed, Aang did stop in the oasis. As the God had predicted, the cheetah bent down to graciously lap from the water, and once he was finished with his drink he stretched absently. It was only then that he noticed he had company, and he nodded politely to the god-in-disguise.So he guessed correctly. The cheetah had come and had a drink, and when he nodded to acknowledge Tarik's presence the god could only nod back just as politely as he had. "Hello," he said, pleased to have run into someone like this cheetah. Most of those he'd encountered in the mortal realm have been rather loud with their greetings, and this was the first time he'd run into someone who greeted him quietly. It intrigued him, anyway, so he'd decided to instigate some sort of conversation.

"Hello to you too. I have to admit, I didn't even notice you until just moments ago," Aang admited, offering Tarik a small smile and absently sitting down near the water. After a moment he bowed politely. "I'm Aang."
"Tarik," he said, then raised a paw and pointed at the empty space in the shade nearby him, as if to invite the cheetah to rest for a bit. "Please, rest in the shade here. You look like you've traveled a great distance, Aang. It might help you regain a bit more of your energy if you weren't out in the sun."
"Thanks for the invitation," Aang said gratefully, slowly getting to his feet and moving to relax in the shade. It was nice, and refreshing. It reminded him of being the jungles... "I was actually visiting my cubs. Three of them, two boys and a girl. They were only recently born."
Cubs, huh? It was a strange concept for him to grasp - this one called family. Since he'd never known either of his parents, and had been lacking an adult to watch over him in his younger years, the idea of having parents or being one was extremely foreign to him. Still, he offered the other a smile and nodded. "Congratulations," he said, unsure of what the custom was with mortals when it came to birthing. "I imagine you must be very excited, then?"
"I'm happy, yeah. But I wouldn't say I'm excited now. I was when they were born. I won't be able to visit them very often, because of where they live... But I'll make an effort to see them when I can." Aang explained, letting the subject fall there. He couldn't quite think of what to talk about next. Although it wasn't like he really needed to talk. The silence between him and Tarik was almost... Comfortable.

Tarik nodded in understanding. True, a new parent is probably most excited when they first see their new cubs. Again, he'd never had to think about it before, so how long the excitement lasted was unknown to him. "That's a shame," he said, almost frowning. "Though I think it'd make seeing them that much better, but I'm no parent so I wouldn't know." He let the silence fall between them again, not really sure what to say next either. He didn't mind the quiet though, as it wasn't awkward in any way. Which was weird, since silence between strangers usually was.
After a long moment spent in silence, Aang finally though of something the two of them could talk abot. With a small smile, her turned once again to Tarik. "So what brings you here?"
"No particular reason really," he replied after a bit, giving a shrug. "I stopped for a nap and just...haven't left." Tarik gave a chuckle and sighed. "It's nice here, you know. Water, plenty of shade throughout the hottest times of the day. I could get used to it if I'm not careful." At that the lion stood, stretching himself out a bit before yawning. "Speaking of which, I do think it's about time I get going. A wanderer can't get too comfortable, after all, so I'll have to say goodbye." And then he offered the other a smile, turned and started to walk...though, he didn't have any particular destination.
