So tomorrow, on "The Colbert Report" NASA is going to announce what they're naming Node 3 (or whatever it was).
I bet the name Colbert is going to win, and not Gaia.
Thoughts?

"Colbert" did win the voting, even beating out the NASA choices. (Of those, "Serenity" got the most votes, with, like 80% or so, I think.) From what I've heard, "Gaia" ended up fourth or so, although it's likely that not everyone who voted for "Gaia" were doing so based on this site.

Oh hell, thanks for the heads up! Definitely gonna have to watch that. :3
But yes, O.T.L. is right, Colbert beat out everything, including Gaia. NASA still isn't sure they're going to go with naming it after him, last I heard. So it'll be interesting to see.

HA! Colbert got a treadmill named after him. Gaia didn't get anything at all, though you could kind of see it on the list, but who cares.
Go Colbert!
Now that all of this is over and done with, and I have every right to gloat, I just want to say that it was incredibly presumptuous of Gaia to make the item with their name on it, especially now that they didn't win.

So what are they naming it? (I assume "Serenity", since that was the NASA pick that got the most votes.) (I probably would have voted for that one myself, but I know there would have been more than a few people who were voting for it because of Joss Whedon, and I thought that movie wasn't very good (unlike Firefly).)

According to the NASA website, the name will be "Tranquility" and Colbert gets a treadmill named after him.

Apparently Tranquility was the highest one on the suggestion list.
Although it's probably has more to do with the fact that 40th anniversary of the Appollo 11 landing is coming up, and they landed on the moon in the Sea of Tranquility.
