I'm currently in a movie class at my school, so here's a list of movies I've seen and what i thought about them.
"Best in Show"- Comedy- DEFINETLY RECOMMEND!!!
"Casablanca"- Drama- Sounds like a chic-flic, but it's good!
"Gone with the wind"- Drama- Personally I didn't like it. It's got lots of symolism and its over 4 hours long!
"Run, Lola Run!"- Action- Amazing movie even though it's in german.
"Life is Beautiful"- Drama- AMAZING MOVIE!!! It's in another language (like Italian), but it was one of the best movies I've ever seen!!! It's about a Jewish family that was sent to a concentration camp. IT'S A MUST-SEE!
I will look for 'best in show', is that the mocumentary one?
Casablanca was good, but I prefer Bogart in 'The Maltese Falcon'. Nice piece of film. GWTW, like LOTR bored me to ******** tears, so one viewing is enough in ones life. But I want my 3 hours back for the Da Vinci Code.
s**t! I had 'run lola...' on a weekly, but somehow it got cleaned up before I got to watch it. It is the german multi-media one isn't it?
But sorry, I can't watch 'Life is beautiful', I have had my fair share of them, and the local telly has a large run of them, I might pick it up through there. 'Schindlers List' was the last one I have watched, when it came out at the cinema. Moving film. On that 'large scale' emotional level.
One that did (the other two, not mentioning them,
almost do, was 'Lars and the Real Girl'. Bloody great.
Just watched 'Frost/Nixon'. I don't particularly like Ron Howard's approach to film (my opinion), but I thought it was pretty good. His direction I felt make Nixon a little more melodramatic than the original, and I reckon played a little more subtler. Howard should give his audience the benefit of the doubt and assume they will get the subtle nuances. Instead of offending the public by slapping it in their face.
Makes me want to study the original.
Do you think we will ever see a Frost/Bush
interview? That would be interesting.
