Okay, this isn't the Charity itself; rather, I'm going to try to get something started and I would like feedback on it...a few people were talking about it, but I figured people would help more if something substantial is there for people to think about. So, here's some things we need...
name. duh. think of something original and you'll get your name put in the first page along with a possible gold incentive (like, uh...10g? xp )
type of charity? I'm thinking maybe a newbie/quest chartiy or something? but, if anyone can thik of an original or just a really good idea about how the charity should function, please post

a co-owner. I don't have the funds or time to run a full time charity by myself, although I'd be willing to do the bulk of the work (i.e. make a mule acct, backread for applications etc.)
somewhere to get the money from. okay, yeah, I'm begging on behalf of a charity. but I have donated or spent a lot of my money recently and I don't have enough to run it for very long unless I only give out tiny donations...Basically I want to know if I'll have the support (not necessarily gold, but perhaps in-thread ads) of enough people for this to work.
any other suggestions are muchly appriciated and will win your free hugs and cookies domokun
Also, if anyone is good with graphics, banners, or whatever, that would also be welcome...I'll even pay if you want! otherwise I'll have to do my shitty MS paint banners, and believe me, they suck xp

What's my favourite colour (I'll give bonus points to those of you who can get it right...no editing your post and I'm not going to tell you if you're right or wrong...also, there are several, so if you can guess more than one, the more extra you get, but if you guess a lot and most or all are wrong I won't count any that are right...):

Thanks for putting this up! I'd love to donate, but I spent most of my money last night, and only have about 300.
-Also, I think it should be a newbie charity.

Thank you for doing this Kea. I agree with Flyr that a newbie charity would be nice. But I think they should be at least 10 days old just to assure that they are hanging around.
If there is to be a WTG charity then I would like to see it done really well. I mean a proper thread. Laid out really nicely with reserved spots for the entire first page of the thread. Good banners.
I can help back the charity, but I don't want to run it, I just don't have the time.

and as for the layout and stuff...I'm planning on making it very nice. If I can't get banners for free fomr a guild member or something I'll go down to minishops and pay for some good quality ones. I may have my boyfriend (since he has photoshop and I don't) do banners or something maybe...I haven't got it all worked out but I promise it will be good...I'm really gonna actually devote my time to something...and maybe it will work

thanks to all of you for your kind offers...I'm planning on putting a lot into this charity (I think it's a better endeavor than a quest) so I hope people will be able to support it
uma: I'll let you know but I think I have enough...
and just as a general question, what's the deal with guild funds? maybe I'm just not paying attention but it seems that last I heard they were un useable...has that changed? I want to create the mule account, but I don't know what the charity will be called yet or anything...I may just make a corresponding email address rather than using my personal ones, so any co-owners will have full access to the account and stuff

Sorry if this has already been presented, but I'm to lazy to read the whole thing.
Problem: There will be hundreds of newbies every second asking for money, and it'll be impossible to track all of them down and give them money, expecially when there's no one on.
Maybe we could have a form to fill out on why they deserve the gold, and we could give them about 100-200 each?
