 It was a normal day.
Perfectly normal in every way.
The beautiful fallacy
Of Normalcy.
The tiniest of smiles crept over a mare's face. At least, it assumed that she/he/it was a mare. Only a voice rimmed with a purr was alluding to that fact. It was talking, or rather coming out as a gentle, pleased hissed. Only, this Nequus (if it were a Nequus) didn't look pleased. Its eyes were set dead in front of its muzzle; they looked off into the distance. At nothing, but probably everything.
After all, this was Casa Tiner.
And at this very moment, the air was dripping with moisture. It fell from the trees that couldn't be seen and slipped down the slick fur of its target. It stole energy from this lifeform and left a distinctive chill. The mare gave a shudder. The grin grew broader.
"I do wonder what she sees," she muttered to herself, and then a cackle followed. "Or doesn't." Finally the would-be smile broke to reveal teeth. Sadly, they were normal teeth. There were no carnivorous habits intertwined with this mare's genes.
Eventually she moved. Her footsteps made faint, faded clops and traveled over a path that only she could see, because, of course, in Casa Tiner the illusions work their magic. It works sight, feeling, hearing. Maybe they were only in a forest dripping with moisture and aching to freeze, but none of them would ever know it.
They? Well, it was 'they' now.
"It's dangerous to be in here this far," the mare said loudly to no one in particular. But her ears were turning and searching. Eventually her eyes went wandering after. They were glazed over with the excitement of a Rit ready to devour its prey.
"I'm in danger; i'm here too," followed her voice after. "Have you come to save me?" There was a crackle and a crunch behind her. The smile now had turned darker. Her brows were pushed together and the edges of her lips just perked upward. She was happy. Any fool could see it. Or maybe only a fool could see it.
"It's not nice to sneak up on people." She turned around and her eyes found a target: A brown and white splotched mare.
And she was blind.
"You're not here to kill me, are you?" Were her last words before she became quiet.
They both already knew why she'd been followed here. It was all in the game; well, a game for one of them.

Finally spotted, the splotched mare paused in her heavy steps. She'd dropped Betel before entering the mysterious forests of Casa Tiner; his eyesight would be of no use to her here, and she didn't need him panicking and squeaking and being an all around nuisance due to the tricks of the forest. She knew the forest could mess with more than just the sight, but that was its biggest trick and without that, it didn't bother her as much as it could have. But still, it bothered her. Bothered her more than anything she'd encountered so far. She could've sworn she'd heard screams and anguished cries for help all around her, memories faintly tugging at the back of her mind that she should know these voices, and the fact that she couldn't place them sent shivers down her spine. She should know them. She should, they were so familiar, but she couldn't. It was all rather unnerving, but she wasn't dead yet so at least she had that, if nothing else.
And then the creature before her (creature because she could think of no other word for the thing); she didn't know if her powers worked here or not but she had the distinct feeling that this creature wasn't all there. Whether in mind, body, or spirit, or between life and death, she couldn't quite tell. She just knew that she wasn't quite there, in at least one way if not more, and that this...thing, was who she'd been searching for. "Why are you here, then, if it's so dangerous for you as well? And no, I'm not here to kill you; I can't kill something that quite possibly may be dead already, even if I had any desire to do so." Although she could think of a few living nequus whose sorry arses she would be glad to beat into the ground. Oh well; in any case, it was time for the game to begin, for a game it was. Whether or not it was for Bella remained to be seen. "But, if the rumors are true, I think you know what I'm here about."

If she had been capable, the mare would have shrugged. Instead, her ears flicked about over her skull and she cocked her head before answering.
"This, that. Everywhere is dangerous. Only the mind is dangerous here." Many had told her she'd lost it. That made Casa Tiner very safe. Quite unfortunately, she rather had lost it, but not in the way she'd love to think. If she actually believed herself at all.
"Oh, yes. One of you." But, the mare went glancing, and then she pouted. Bella could no doubt not see it, but . . . her voice would tell it all.
"So where's this lesbian lover of yours you want to have the 'eternal bond' with?" she asked. There was no sadism in her voice. It had left when confusion had taken over the mind she wasn't supposed to have.
"Or have you lost your mind, too?"

The mind. The mind was dangerous here. Bella felt apprehensive, but nothing had happened to her so far, and as far as she could tell nothing had happened to the creature before her either. She'd lost her mind, apparently. Had Bellatrix lost hers, too?
No, no; she hadn't, no. She'd know if she had, wouldn't she? Like this mare seemed to. Yes, that was true. She was still very sane, of course.
If the other mare was expecting some sort of shocked or surprised reaction that the paint aeri's love wasn't there, she was going to be sorely disappointed. "I haven't lost mine yet, no." She certainly hoped she hadn't, at any rate. As for her lover... "She's.."
She paused, flicking an ear, trying to decide how to put it. How could she put it? Only one way, she supposed.
"She's dead." There we go. "She's been dead for some time, and I.. I don't even know if it's possible." Even for this mare who everyone seemed to be whispering about. But who knows? Maybe she could. Maybe. She might be much more powerful than she seemed, than what the rumors and people had claimed.

Well, that was nice. She got to keep her mind and yet. . . her lover was dead.
There was silence for a short while and then the deranged mare started laughing. It was short, sweet, and intermixed with her words that were strangely still clear. "So, let me get this straight. You want me to somehow magically bring back the lover for long enough for you to screw her, and then you get a nice tree? You. . . are the most insane creature I have ever met." A grin slipped over her lips.
"But, unfortunately, I might know how to help you." It was amusing. This mare was in any case.
"Oh it's possible, lovely, believe me it's possible. Some of the repercussions might be a little sticky, but if you're that desperate. . . there are a few things." She stretched out her body and flicked an ear from side to side.
"Are you going to tell me the good luck that your blindness is caused by being a Speaker, or am I going to have to tell you to go find one?"

Yes, she'd expected the laughter, so she was a little relieved when she heard it, although it was a little disconcerting that the mare spoke while laughing - and she could understand everything perfectly. She really was a strange creature. For the first time, Bella was rather glad to be blind. Her response to the insane mare's first question was a simple nod and a smirk. That sounded about right, didn't it? Yes, it did. But, she knew how to help? "How sticky are we talking about?" She asked cautiously, flicking her coarse tail and swiveling her ears about suspiciously. She wasn't sure if she wanted to go through with it if there were any serious consequences.
"I am a Speaker, so we don't need to waste time finding one," she stated, glad that it meant this whole thing wouldn't take as long. The sooner she finished, the sooner she could get away from this mare. Although, now she thought about it, this insane mare was better company than a great deal of sane nequus she'd met in her time. Odd.
