A large wide open field with a small pool of water at it's center and several training posts off to the side at the far left.

Yuki walked over towards the training field only an hour after the sun had risen. Looking around, he didn't see Midori or May. "I guess I'm here a bit early," he sighed to himself. He walked over by the posts and sat down, leaning his back against one. He sharpened a kunai while he waited.

Arriving at the field from the air Midori dropped down from the sky, landing lightly on her feet, her full wingspan exposed as she stood their surveying the field for a quick second before spotting Yuki.

"Wow you're early. Even my own ex-cell Mates wouldn't usually show up to a morning meeting for another half hour or so." she commented with a low whistle as she walked over towards Yuki.

"Now from what I saw yesterday I think it'd be best to work on either your defense or your agility a little today. The more you can block or dodge an upcoming blow the better. There's a jutsu of mine I can teach you that would help in that regard, but I'm open for suggestions if you have an other idea of what we can work on." said Midori.

"Well, you are the more experienced ninja, so you definitely know what you're talking about," he said, standing up. "But after that," he continued, "Could we maybe work on Wind Jutsu?" Yuki hoped that they would. He wanted to be able to control, and in time, master, this ability. He already could "summon" the kaze no kitsune, but he knew that there was so much more that he could do, if he only learned how. And having a good sensei would help him open that door that would lead to his true potential.

"Wind jutsu is exactly what I had in mind" replied Midori with a slight grin. "Before we get to the more advanced stuff like minuplating air currents so that projectiles flow around you we'll start with the basics."

Forming the seal for Bird Midori quickly trust her hand out towards the the empty field generating a a quick burst of air that quickly dissipated. "This is the gust shield, useful for knocking projectiles out of the air and throwing a foe away from you if they get too close. It's C rank due to it's low offensive power however it can be incredibly useful once mastered," explained Midori

"Thanks to your natural affinity with some hard work and practice you should be able to eventually use it with out requiring either the handseal or the gesture which would raise you ability to defend yourself considerably."

"The fastest way to learn it is to have something actually coming at you to use it against. Since you're just starting my Boomerangs would be a little too fast at the moment so we'll have to settle for having you use it to stop May from reaching you..... That is if you can find her from wherever she's hiding around here." said Midori with a slight knowing smirk, This too was part of her special brand of training.

"Right!" he said, getting into a ready stance. Quickly, he made the hand seal, tori, and built up chakra. He felt the air almost shift, although it was almost hard to notice it unless you were trying to. His eyes shifted, surveying the area for any hint as to where May could be hiding. He listened closely for any sound that could give her away. She's very well hidden, he thought between analytical glances. I won't know where she is for certain until she reveals herself.

"Hum, not bad for your first try. It took me three times before I could get any reaction from it." appraised Midori who had noticed that the water level of the pond was slightly higher the usual by a very small amount and supressed a sigh at the sight.

May was way heaver they a normal human of her size. So heavy infant that Midori could only just barely pick her up and defenilty heavy enough that she acted like a lead weight and would sink rather then swim. Not that Midori couldn't have corrected the buoyancy issue in her design if she had really wanted to but it was simpilar to teach May how to walk on water rather then swim since Midori despised swimming unless she absolutely had to.

"Oh May you can come out now." she called out only to watch in frustration as the water in the pound shook from something large moving inside it and yet May had yet to emerge. Putting the palm of her right hand to her face Midori could no longer suppress the sigh and let it escape her mouth.

"Oh for the love of heck, don't tell me she got herself stuck down their." she muttered lightly wondering just how to fish her android turned apprentice out of the water with out diving in herself when suddenly she was hit with an idea.

"Shoot chakra out of your feet like a jet, that should be enough to propel you to the surface." Instructed Midori. A moment later May shoot out of the water with a wooshing sound and landed a few feed beside her master with a loud thud that left a small crater in the ground.

"Remind me to show you how to do proper water walking in our next training session. I can't have you stuck at the bottom of a large lake or something during an important mission." Midori drawled out.

Turing to Yuki she grinned. "Any questions before I set May loose on you? I'm warning you now that if she hits you it's going to smart, thought less then my boomerangs would if we used that method."

Yuki, upon May shooting out of the pond, jerked back slightly. "Erm, no, I'm fine..." he said. He blinked a few times. That's... odd... to say the least, he thought. Shaking off the feeling, Yuki crouched slightly. His hands were raised in front of him, palms open. The air pressure around his hands had risen, much like compressed air in a container ready to burst. At the slightest sign from May, he would, hopefully, react quickly enough to counter.

"Wow I'm suprised he didn't ask about why she was having problems getting out of the water" thought Midori mildly as she watched Yuki getting into a prepaired battle stance.

"Ok May for this training excersise please use only 25% of your strength" ordered Midori since May could tear trought metal at full force with ease and she didn't want to send Yuki to the hospital after possibly being hit. The point after all was for the pain of being hit making you try harder to avoid being hit again rather then out right being knocked out or worse.

"Affirmative." replied May as she suddenly leapt foward straight toward Yuki intent on trying to land a right hook straight into his gut.

Yuki Ducked down and swung his arms up towards May, thrusting his palms towards her. The air moved at May, but it was hardly enough to stop her. It was enough to sway the tree branches, and enough to rip some leaves and even a branch or two off, but definitely not enough to stop someone (or something) like May. With a resounding "thud," The right hook connected, knocking the wind out of Yuki.

Midori winced at the sound of Yuki being hit. "That had to hurt" she thought. "You know, if you're having trouble with the gust shield it IS ok to dodge if you want to." she remarked dryly.

After hitting Yuki May paused rather then press her attack. "Are you alright?" She asked? She'd done her best to hold back as instructed so shouldn't have hit him too hard but sometimes it was better to be safe then sorry.

Unknown to the three of them, something sinister was slowly approaching their location and would probably arrive in their vicinity soon. Omnius dark clouds loomed overheads as if to signify the start of what would become a very large incident.

"I'm sure I could dodge, but then where's the incentive to make the shield work?" he mused. Yuki brushed himself off, and made the handsign, tori, again. The air around him swirled towards his hands more violently this time, albeit still weak compared to Midori's mastery of the art. "Okay," he sighed, "I'm ready."

Midori raised a slight curious eyebrow at Yuki's explianation of why he hadn't dodged "What sort of incentive do you need exactly?" She asked.

"You do realize that if May wasn't holding back one hit from her would kill you right? Besides sometimes using the shield isn't always the best solution to a problem. It might not use a lot of chakra in comparison to some of the more offensive moves I want to shot you later, but it still uses more then just plain dodging. Or even better you could have dodged then unleashed the shield on her while she's in mid lunge to use her own momentium against her and knock her to the ground giving you the advantage" She explained.

"The most successfully ninja almost always try to get maximum impact for minimum use, During a war the ones that don't tend to use up too much energy early in a battle when they should have been conserving it for the next battle to come...an often fatal mistake." Midori added moresely.

"But that's enough balthering for now. If you can get the shield to a workable level during this training session I'll treat you to dinner. How's that for an incentive?" asked Midori with a playful smrik as she gestured for the training to continue.

With a barely preceptical nod May leapt foward towards Yuki with her left leg outstretched as she attempted to deliver a flying kick to his sternum. Even with the force of the blow dialed back, with her weight if it connected it would be enough to knock Yuki flat on his a**.

Meanwhile the sinister something or somethings grew ever closer and would be upon them shortly. In just a few short minutes it/they would reach the outer preimiter of the forest at the edge of the training field, the perfect ambush position... that is if they weren't noticed before they got into position.

"True, sensei, but I'm trying to learn and master the technique. I should be able to actually do it before using it. Gotta crawl before you can walk, eh?" He smiled upon hearing Midori's "incentive". He agreed, then prepared for May. Seeing her lunge at him, he shot back a few feet with a swift push off of the ground. As he landed, he shoved his palms at May, this time creating enough wind to slow her down, at least a little. Over the howl of the gust, which soon enough might be able to be a gale, Yuki thought, Good, but not enough. Seeing Where May's kick would connect, he realized it might do more than just knock him flat on his a**. It could reopen his wound. "Oh sh-!" He barely had time to begin the "colorful" phrase he was thinking before he had to move. Quickly, he ducked down and swung himself out of May's way. Instead of having his sternum shattered - again - Yuki only dealt with a rather audible landing on his side. Getting up, he grinned. "Better, sempai?"

Yuki certantly was persuasive when he wanted to be, Midori had to admit he had a point. If it was a real fight it would be practically suicidal to try preforming an inprefected technique. For all you knew the jutsu wouldn't activate when it was supposed to, or worse it could even backfire on you.

But then again the quicker he could use it in a real battle field situation the better, because she had the feeling he would be needing it soon. If anyone asked her why she felt this way, she wouldn't be able to give them an exact answer, other then her intuition made her feel slightly uneasy about the the coming near future.

Maybe it was experience talking, or maybe she was letting paranoia get the better of her, but in either case giving Yuki accelerated training wasn't going to hurt....much, as long as she was careful about it anyways.

Watching Yuki succeed in slowing May down a bit with a gust shield then following up by dodging her flying kick when it was clear his jutsu wasn't going to stop her Midori smiled slightly in satisfaction. It wasn't perfect by any means, but over all it had been well executed as he had bought himself just enough time to get out of the way of something he probably wouldn't have been able to avoid otherwise.

"Much better, keep this up and it won't be long before you make Chunnin." replied Midori in a rare display of display of admiration. Suddenly her eyes narrowed as she sense a disturbance over in the forest nearby. She couldn't see any life-force over their but it was definitely an anomaly of some kind.

With one flick of her wrist she sent a couple of her infamous shiken style shuriken flying into the bushes and they landed with a loud trunking sound that indicated they had hit something that definitively wasn't wood, but wasn't flesh either.

A moment later five figures burst out of the cover of the woods, all of them clad head to toe in cloth the color of midnight black. Oddly enough two of them had a shuriken buried in their head right between their eyes but it didn't seem to be hindering them in the slightest, almost as if they weren't human, but what distrubed Midori the most about them was that not one of them seemed to have a soul that she could see, something that defied the very fabric of nature.

Thankfully Midori being Midori was never one to use just simple straight foward attacks, and a few seconds later the trailing pinions that where attached to the shuriken she had thrown exploded with a deafening pop taking the heads they had been impeded in into oblivion with them.

As the two lifeless bodies slumped over Midori couldn't help but notice the utter lack of blood they should have been splaying form their headless torso's.

With three enemy left Midori frowned as she quickly picked out the one that had to be the leader due to having a slightly different belt buckle then the other four. "May, Yuki do you think you can handle the other two while I deal with this one?" She asked even as the two underlings leapt straight towards Yuki simultaneously.
