Prologue Paragraph:
It was a dreaded day, I never expected this in my life. Though, you can never guess what will happen in your life. The rain was pouring down heavy that day, StarClan must have been angry. It all seems like a blur to me now, but I will try to tell it my best....
Chapter One:
Shadetooth stood in horror at the scene of the murder. She stood in front of Lizardtail's mangled body. Darkfang walked up beside the deputy, "It's an awful sight to see. But it was worse seeing Rainpaw actually do it." He said solemnly. I stared up at the two warriors with horror. Shadetooth gave me this awful look that still gives me nightmares,
"How could you do this!" She hissed.
"B-but I didn't!" I stuttered. Shadetooth shook her head with disgust. Darkfang had a wide smirk on his face.
"I never thought this day would come. Rainpaw, you must leave ShadowClan. You are a disgrace to us all and any cat to see you here again is given permission to kill you.." She turned solemnly and began padding back to camp. Mosspaw bursted out,
"But he didn't do it!" She cried, "It was-" She was cut off by Darkfang menacing glare. Darkfang turned around and flicked his tail for his apprentice, Mosspaw, to follow. She looked back at me, but I just turned away. I was hurt and angry. I turned around to say a good-bye, but she was already leaving. She was my good friend, it was unbelievably hard for me. To leave her, for once, and that she didn't tell Shadetooth what had happened. I understand that Blackfur threatened her, but he wouldn't be able to harm her if the truth had gotten out. Blackfur would be kicked out of the Clan and we would never see him again. Unless no one believed her, then Blackfur would be able to get his paws on her. I shivered as the thought of him murdering her went through my mind. As I walked into the unknown, Mosspaw was all that was on my mind.
I soon found myself hungry, weak, and lost. I was so thin, my ribs were stickking out and my hip bone was visible. One day, I fell down with exhaustion. I remember thinking, "This is it, this is the end." I never thought StarClan would take me. I was banished from ShadowClan, I was a loner. I wasn't sure if Loners went to StarClan when they died. As my eyes began to close, I remember seeing a golden furred cat staring down at me. Her eyes were glowing like the full moon. Her pelt was glowing like the sun. And at that moment, I knew that she was going to save me. I knew that I would be okay when I closed my eyes. So I let them close, feeling as light as a feather. I knew that as the darkness took over me, I would wake up the next day....

Chapter Two:
As my eyes blinked, I saw sunshine peek through a hole in the ceiling. I looked around me. I was laying in a moss nest, and the sweet scent of herbs surrounded me. The golden-furred cat appeared again, though this time she wasn't glowing as much as she was before I passed out. No, this time I could tell she was real, and not a figure of my imagination. She smiled and her sweet voice echoed through my mind.
"Hello." She purred, "I'm glad you are awake. I need you to eat these, they will help recover your strength." She pushed a few herbs towards me with her paw. I looked up at her, then obeyed what she said and ate the herbs.
"My name is Goldenpaw by the way." She mewed softly. I opened my mouth to speak, but she stuck her paw out to stop me.
"You shouldn't waste your energy speaking." She mewed, "You probably have many questions to ask. I'll start with where you are, you are in ThunderClan." My eyes grew wide with shock, I should have guess it by the scent surrounding me. Goldenpaw looked at me worriedly.
"Are you alright?" She asked. I nodded my head and she calmed down.
"I'll continue then. Do you know of the Clans?"
I nodded.
"Okay, well I found you out in our territory. You have been asleep for a couple moon rises." She continued. I was stunned to find out how long I had been sleeping. My thoughts were interrupted by my stomach growling. Goldenpaw giggled a bit,
"I almost forgot about giving you food." She mewed. She got up and grabbed a squirrel and brought it back to me. "This should please your stomach." I took a bite out of the squirrel. I already felt energy coming back to me, that's how hungry I was. A voice broke the silence,
"Goldenpaw, Morningcloud needs some [herb]." He mewed as he walked in the den. He looked over at me and smiled,
"Oh good, your awake. My name is Silverfur, the medicine cat of ThunderClan. Goldenpaw here-" He pointed to Goldenpaw with his nose, "-is my medicine apprentice." I smiled and flicked my tail a hello. He nodded and looked back to Goldenpaw, "Goldenpaw, Morningcloud." Goldenpaw nodded. "You-" She flicked her tail to me, "-should finish your food and get some more sleep." Before I could nod or anything, she already walked out the den. There I sat, alone in the ThunderClan medicine den. It seemed relieving that I was here, but it all came crashing down when horrible thoughts went through my mind. What if my my home Clan found me? What if ThunderClan rejects me? I closed my eyes, trying to push the thoughts away. But I couldn't. I finished off my squirrel and stared at the wall. It took a while for me to fall asleep, but it finally came.
Chapter Three:
I woke up the next morning, Goldenpaw was prodding me on my side.
"Wake up, you need to take your herbs and eat again." She mewed. I nodded and obeyed yet again. She smiled,
"You can talk now. Just not to much." When I heard her words, I felt relieved. But at the same time, scared. This means I would have to explain why I was here and not in my own Clan. Of course I could just not tell them, but I can't lie. If they reject me, then that's my problem. I looked up to Goldenpaw, she looked like she was waiting for me to say something. I finally spoke, it came out quite hoarse.
"My name is Rainpaw." I mewed hoarsely. Her eyes widened.
"So you are from a Clan?! Then what are you doing here?" She questioned. I was just about to answer her question when a light brown she-cat walk in the den.
"Goldenpaw, is our guest able to speak yet?" The she-cat asked. Goldenpaw nodded.
"Yes Sandstar, he can." She answered. I sat with a curious look on my face. So this is the leader? I would probably known all this stuff if I were in ShadowClan longer. But I had only just become an apprentice, so knowing cats from a different Clan wasn't the first thing to learn.
"Good, bring him out to explain himself." Sandstar mewed, then she turned and walked out of the den. I could here her voice echo through the camp.
"Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather here beneath the high ledge." Sandstar yowled. As I walked out of the medicine den, a bunch of cat were emerging from their dens. A couple of playful kits came out of the nursery with their mother. A old tom was leading a blind she-cat out of the elders den. And all the rest walked out with confused looks on their faces. Sandstar looked around her camp, satisfied.
"We have a guest in our Clan, and he will be explaining to us why he is here." She mewed loud enough for everyone to hear. I could feel all their eyes turn to me. I sat down with my head low.
"I-I....." I didn't know where to start.
"Well?" Sandstar mewed.
"I-I was banished from my Clan." I finally blurted out. I could hear gasps all around me.
"Banished, why?!" Cried one of the queens.
"Obviously he did something bad." Snickered a tom-cat.
"Then we should get rid of him." Another tom-cat hissed.
"Silence!" Sandstar yowled. She looked back down at me, "Continue."
I looked around me, scared to speak. They had already badly reacted to my banishment. What will they think of why I was banished.
"I-I was falsely accused of...." I hesitated and I could tell everyone was holding their breath. "...Of...of murder."
There was a wail of terror from the queen. There were many hisses and threatening glares around me.
"But I didn't kill him! It was Darkfang!" I bursted out with anger.
"Liar!" A spotted tom-cat yowled, "Sandstar, this cat is a murderer and should be driven out!"
"Nonsense! Does this cat look like a murderer to you?" The leader questioned, "His paws have no blood stains. He is too young to be murdering at his age, but that does not mean that I believe Darkfang did the killing."
I felt soft fur brush against me and the sweet smell of Goldenpaw lingered.
"I believe him Sandstar." Goldenpaw mewed. Glares were burning against my fur and I could sense some of them were directed at Goldenpaw. But some of the cats didn't look upset at all.
"I do too." A she-cat warrior mewed. There were a few other murmurs of agreement, but I could still sense the tension of the others that disagreed.
"Then it is settled, our guest will be staying." Sandstar settled. I felt like all the weight on my shoulders had finally fallen. Sanstar jumped down from the high ledge and walked over to me. I looked up, wondering what she was going to do. She looked down at me with a serious look.
"But, you are not allowed to attend any gatherings until the truth is settled. Nor will you be able to go in visible sight of the borders and you cannot fight in any battles, Rainpaw." How did she know my name? I have never been to a gathering before, how else would she know my name.. I watched as she left to talk to a she-cat cat. I guessed she was the deputy because from what I could here, she was ordering her to set up patrols.
"That's Amberthorn, she's the deputy." Goldenpaw mewed. I looked up at her and nodded. Three other apprentices walked over to me and Goldenpaw. A black tom-cat, a golden tabby she-cat, and a tortoise shell she-cat.
"Hi sister!" The calico said perkily.
"Hi Hazelpaw." Goldenpaw mewed, licking the calico she-cat's forehead.
"Hi Honeypaw." Goldenpaw mewed, turning to the golden tabby she-cat.
"Hi Sootpaw." Goldenpaw mewed, flicking her tail at the the black tom-cat. She turned to face me again.
"These are my siblings. You probably know their names now." She mewed letting a small mrow of laughter. I laughed a bit too.
"My name is Rainpaw." I greeted bowing my head a bit. They smiled back at me.
"Don't worry, we believe you. We've seen Darkfang at the borders and he gives me the feeling like a fox is breathing down my neck." Honeypaw giggled. I had to agree that Darkfang did give you that feeling. But it was a little intimidating that she talked about him like that so openly. Of course, she was probably trying to make me feel better, and it did. I was glad to know that some cats believed me.
"I wonder who your mentor will be, obviously not Speckledfur and Deerstripe. They are the ones who believe you should leave." Sootpaw mewed, flicking his tail towards the two tom-cats. "I mean they are already taken anyways. Deerstripe is my mentor and Speckledfur is Hazelpaw's. Maybe Beechfoot, he needs an apprentice. And there is always Squirreltail." At that moment, Sandstar jumped up on the high ledge again.
"I call upon my warrior ancestors to look down upon us today and approve of my choice." Sandstar yowled. Beechfoot puffed out his chest.
"Beechfoot, you have been trained well and have shown your loyalty and strength to the Clan. But I am afraid that I will be taking Rainpaw on as my apprentice." She mewed apologetic. Beechfoot dropped his head and Sandstar chuckled a bit. Then she turned to face me.
"Rainpaw, we have taken you in and you will be needing a mentor. But I must tell you that you will be having to train harder than all the rest. Since you are not a true ThunderClan cat, you will have to prove to us your loyalty. Do you accept?" Sandstar asked. I looked around me and Goldenpaw gave me a quick nod. I looked up at the leader and straightened myself out.
"I do." I mewed strongly. Sandstar gave me a small nod.
"Rainpaw! Rainpaw!" Echoed through the camp. I couldn't help feel a bit of pride knowing that I was accepted.
"I'll be watching you closely." Snarled Speckledfur in my ear. I watched as the tom padded into the warriors den. I shivered. It seemed that event though Darkfang was far away, it seemed like he was closer than I thought. I was glad that ShadowClan wouldn't find out I was there, or at least until the truth came out. But who knew how long that would be. For now, I can relax. Of course, besides the fact that Specklefur will be watching me all the time. My gaze turned upon Goldenpaw as she walked towards me.
"It's an honor to be Sandstar's apprentice, your very lucky." She mewed softly.
"Yes, it is. It was even more of an honor to be Downystar's apprentice. She rarely takes on an apprentice, I think she has only had one for her entire leadership." I mewed, trying to remember who the apprentice was. Goldenpaw suddenly didn't seem so perky.
"What's the matter." I asked. She shifted her paws awkwardly, then looked up at me with sorrowful eyes.
"You miss your home Clan, don't you?" She asked quietly. I couldn't quite answer that question. I missed my Clan, yes, but at the same time no. It wasn't only the fact that I would be killed if I went back. But also the fact that ShadowClan is the proud Clan. I was never like that, I always felt like all the Clans were the same. It doesn't matter what food we hunt or what we are better at than the other Clans. We are all cats and we all have Clan in our blood. I never understood how we separate ourselves by our skills. I'm sure that in ThunderClan there are cats that can hunt better than others. Or some can fight better than the rest. And yet, when it comes to how well we are catching certain types of prey, or how our bodies are built, we are divided into four Clans. So when Goldenpaw asked me that question, I didn't really have an answer.
"You don't have to answer that, I'm sure you do." Goldenpaw mewed sounding a little disappointed. I smiled and purred with amusement.
"What's so funny?" She retorted. I laughed.
"If you could read minds, you'd understand." I mewed. She frowned and glared at me.
"Here, if you were driven out of your Clan and threatened to be killed, would you still miss it?" I asked. Goldenpaw sat for a second trying to think. I continued before she could answer.
"You would stay loyal to it, but yet something keeps you away from it, right?"
She nodded, "I understand how you feel now." Though she still sounded upset as she held her head down. I rested my tail on her shoulder.
"I'm glad I am here, safe with you." I mewed softly. She looked up at me and smiled. And at that moment, I knew it was going to be the start of a great friendship.

Chapter Four:
Later that evening, I found myself invited to go on a hunting patrol. Honeypaw and Hazelpaw came with, leaded by their mentors Doveflight and Speckledfur. It was a little disappointing that my mentor couldn't come, but that's what happens when your mentor is the leader. I was probably only invited so that Speckledfur could watch me. It gave me the chills every time I looked back and found his icy gaze upon me. But that was not the only problem on my paws, I also had to hunt ThunderClan prey. I'm was more used catching frogs, lizards, snakes, and the occasional mouse. That was probably the hardest task I had to do as an apprentice. Well, at least at first. I encountered many other difficult tasks in my story, but we'll get to that later.
"Umph..." I grunted as I fell flat on my face trying to catch a squirrel.
"Don't worry, you'll get the hang off it soon." Honeypaw encouraged.I sighed with disbelief. Sure it was just my first time, but it just seemed impossible to me. Of course, just to make things worse, Speckledfur walked through the bushes.
"Apparently ShadowClan cats can't hunt as well as they say can." Speckledfur growled. My fur began to bristle and I was ready to send back an angry retort. A growl began to rise in my throat. But I held my tongue, I ended up letting out a small grunt. Speckledfur's lip curled up.
"Is that all ShadowClan can do, grunt?" He snarled. By then I was prepared to jump on the tom and claw his ears off. But that would be the last thing I needed to do. If I did, everyone would really think I was a murderer. So I simply turned around, grumbling to myself as I began to walk away.
"Rainpaw, wait." The voice of Doveflight made me stop in my tracks. I turned around and walked back to the group of cats. The she-cat turned to face Speckledfur.
"You shouldn't be so hard on him, he's just an apprentice. And you know very well that ShadowClan doesn't have prey like ours." She snapped at the tom. "You should be worrying about your own apprentice." She flicked her tail at Hazelpaw. I smirked with amusement, but quickly stopped when she turned to face me again.
"Continue hunting. Maybe try to find prey that is easier for you to find, at least until Sandstar takes you out to train." Doveflight ordered. I nodded and turned around to continue my hunt. I opened my jaws to see if I could scent any mice. I'm sure ThunderClan wouldn't appreciate me bringing back some lizards and frogs. I could hardly smell anything because the smell of ThunderClan was so overwhelming still. But I picked my around it and soon scented the little brown creature. I crouched low to the ground and slithered around in the shadows of the trees. I soon spotted the creature gathering things for it's nest. I sneaked closer to it, making sure I was still in the shadows. As i crept into the bush nearest the mouse, I could faintly see it. My eyes gleamed as I waited to pounce on it, I bunched my muscles and leapt straight out towards it. I killed it before the creature even had a chance to think. I lifted my head triumphantly and buried the little thing.
"Sorry little guy, it's just the way of life." I mewed to the mouse. I continued my hunt through the bushes, but quickly jumped back. A ShadowClan patrol was approaching in the distance. I peeked through the bushes, making sure I could not be seen. I could just barely hear what they were saying.
"I don't see him, he must be long gone now." Seednose mewed to Shadetooth.
"Well keep looking," Shadetooth snapped, "He could be hiding behind anything."
Seednose nodded and continued his search. I was shocked to see that the tom walked right pass the ThunderClan border! My fur bristled with fear as he walked close to me. Luckily the smell of ThunderClan hid my scent. The tom turned and walked the other way, back over the border and back to Shadetooth.
"Nothing." He said shaking his head. Shadetooth's lip curled up.
"Good." She snarled. But strangely, I could see a bit of sorrow in her eye. I could no longer see it when she turned and walked away. Seednose took one more look across the border, then turned and walked away with Shadetooth. I waited until they were completely out of sight, then turned and picked up my prey. I broke into a trot, wondering whether or not I should report the trespassers. My thoughts were broken by me running into Goldenpaw.
"Umph." We both grunted as we collided. I shook the dust out of my pelt and began licking my shoulder.
"Sorry." I mumbled. She smiled.
"No problem, accidents happen." She mewed happily, she didn't seem affected by it at all.
"So what are you doing out here?" I asked.
"Collecting herbs, we need to restock our catmint before it's too late. Leafbare is coming soon, so green-cough is a major hazard." She answered. I nodded, feeling a little embarrassed that I asked such a mouse-brained question.
"Did you want to help me?" She asked, breaking the silence.
"Sure." I mewed. She smiled then turned and walked away, flicking her tail to tell me to follow. I followed closely behind her, breathing in her sweet scent. It was hard for me to face the fact that she was a medicine cat and I could never love her...

Chapter Five:
"Alright, now stand up on your hind legs and then crash back down onto my back." Deerstripe ordered to his apprentice. I was in the training hollow, observing Sootpaw and his mentor. Their fighting skills were different than ShadowClan's. As Sootpaw crashed down on his mentor's back, I couldn't help wince as I thought of him doing the move on me.
"Good, now to finish it off, you would grab my scruff and shake me until I wouldn't be able to fight for a good chunk of time." Deerstripe mewed. "But you don't have to do it on me." He shook Sootpaw off of him. Sootpaw walked over to me.
"Do you think you will be able do that?" Sootpaw asked with amusement. Obviously he noticed the look in my eyes. A rustle in the bushes made my fur stand on end. I was relieved to find out that it was Sandstar, so I let my fur lie flat again.
"Deerstripe, may I have some time alone with Rainpaw.." Sandstar mewed sternly. Deerstripe nodded and padded away with his apprentice. Then Sandstar turned to me.
"Let's see what skill you have. Attack me." Sandstar meowed. I was a little surprised by the quickness, but I did it anyways. Sandstar turned and walked towards the other side of the training hollow. I figured it was the perfect chance for me to make a surprise attack. I started to run straight at her, but she turned around and jumped to the side of me. Before I could even think, she tripped me with her front paw. I tumbled over myself, dirt in my mouth. I spat the dirt out of my mouth and looked up at Sandstar. She had a disappointed look on her face.
"I expected more form you Rainpaw, try again. Attack me from behind." She ordered. I walked behind her, pinpointing my next attack. I decided to try the move Sootpaw and Deerstripe had done earlier. I reared up on my back legs, but Sandstar had already figured me out. Just as I was crashing down on her, she had already turned onto her back. My belly was exposed! Before I could do anything, she began pounding my stomach with her hind legs. I rolled over in my defense, but soon found it was the wrong move. Sandstar crushed me flat on the ground. If she were an enemy, she would have a clear chance of ripping my throat out. She jumped off of me and shook the dirt of her pelt.
"You're too tense Rainpaw, I can sense you coming. Relax your muscles, take a deep breath. Try again." She mewed cooly. By then I was getting tired and angry. She crouched low to the ground, staring me down. I could tell she was waiting to see if I would give away my attack with my eyes. I tricked her by looking behind at her hind legs. Then I leaped to the other side of her and twisted around before landing. Then I pushes her over, pinning her to the ground. She pounded my belly with her hind legs, so I rolled over onto my back. She smirked with triumph, but I wasn't done. I pushed her off of me with my hind legs, sending her across the hollow. Then I ran and jumped on her back and grabbed her scruff. By then, we were both panting and hot with exhaustion. She loosened herself to escape my grip.
"Good job Rainpaw." Sandstar mewed as I got off of her back. "We can be done for today." She meowed sternly, as she got to her feet. I was going to say a reply, but she had already disappeared into the bushes. It was strange, she had completely avoided eyesight with me. I figured it wasn't much to worry about, but I soon found out it was.
Chapter Six:
As I walked back towards camp, I let the scents of the forest take over me. The weather here seemed batter than ShadowClan. It was green and full of life, the soft sandy floor on my pads. Compared to ShadowClan, the soggy wet marsh land with frogs and snakes lurking in the forest. It was always dark in ShadowClan, that must be how we learned to hunt at night. I was so deep in my thoughts, I hadn't even realized the faint ShadowClan scent. Next thing I knew, I was bowled over by a small she-cat. Mosspaw!
"Rainpaw! What are you doing here! I saw you fighting with Sandstar, I can't believe you beat her." Mosspaw yowled as she pinned me down to the ground. I knew she was happy to see me, not angry. I shook my head.
"I wasn't fighting with her, she was battle training me." I mewed. Her eyes grew wide.
"You were training with her?! Does that mean your-" I cut her off.
"A ThunderClan apprentice, yes." I finished her sentence. She shook her head, but before she could say anything, I continued talking.
"Yes, they took me in. Goldenpaw, the medicine cat apprentice, found me dying out in their forest." He mewed. You could still see my ribs a bit, from being so thin. "They fed me and provided me shelter. Then, when I was strong enough, they asked me why I was in their territory. I told them the truth, some were shocked and wanted to kick me out. But Sandstar didn't believe I was a killer, and she was right."
Mosspaw stared with sympathy in her eyes. I continued talking again, my lip curled up into a snarl.
"Goldenpaw and a couple other cats defended me too, unlike my own Clan mates." I spat, my fur beginning to bristle. Mosspaw stepped forward, but I slashed out at her.
"This is my new home, and your trespassing." I hissed. She stared at me with horror.
"Rainpaw-" She started.
"Go now before I tear your fur off." I spat, my fur fluffing up to twice my size. She stared at me for a while, then turned and ran. I watched her cross the border, then let my fur lie flat. I turned and began walking towards camp again, anger surging through my body. I knew it was the right thing to do, but part of me wanted to run after her. I looked up to the sky.
"Why does this have to happen to me!" I wailed. As I neared the camp, I heard a loud wail of terror, sounding like it came from the queen Morningcloud. I ran into camp, my fur bristling with fear. I stood in horror, only to find Browntail lying dead in the center of the clearing.
Chapter Seven:
I let my fur lie flat again and walked closer to him. Goldenpaw was laying next to him. She looked up at me, tears streaming down her face.
"He was murdered." She mumbled, moving to show me the teeth marks in his throat.
"Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather here beneath the high rock." Sandstar yowled. I watched as all the cats emerged from their dens.
"As you all know, Browntail has been murdered. Browntail, Deerstripe, and Beechfoot were on a patrol along the ShadowClan border." Sandstar explained. I could feel the burning glare of some of the cats in the clearing. "Browntail told Deerstripe and Beechfoot to re-new the scent markers, and he would continue forward." She continued.
"When we caught up to him, we found him lying dead. There was no sign of any fight though." Beechfoot explained.
"I say we attack ShadowClan right now!" Speckledfur yowled. There were a few murmurs of agreement.
"Silence!" Sandstar yowled. All the cats quickly quieted down and looked up at her again. "There will be no battle. We have no proof that they killed Browntail, it could have been a rogue. Yes, it was on the border of ShadowClan. But there is no proof that they did that, and we will not attack ShadowClan until we have more evidence." At that, Sandstar turned and walked into her den. She flicked her tail for the senior warriors to follow her. Amberthorn, Doveflight, Speckledfur, and Silverfur disappeared into her den. I turned to face Goldenpaw again, she was still with Browntail.
"You were really close to him, weren't you." I mewed sympathetically. She didn't look up at me, I figured she was too upset.
"H-he was my father." Goldenpaw meowed shakily. I felt the breath practically be nocked out of me. I can't imagine what it would be like to lose your parents.I never got to say good-bye to mine, I was banished before I could have a trial with Downystar.
"I-I'm-" I began, but she flicked her ear to tell me to stop.
"There is no need to apologize, it wasn't your fault." She mumbled. I shook my head, it was my fault. It was obvious that it was a ShadowClan cat, I was ashamed to be part of that Clan. NO! I wasn't part of that Clan anymore, and I hope I never will be again. My fur began to fluff up. Goldenpaw looked up at me.
"What's wrong?" She asked. I couldn't answer, I turned and walked out of camp. My paws led me to the ShadowClan border, I walked right into a small puddle of blood. It was where Browntail was murdered. I sniffed around, the smell of ShadowClan was faint. But it was there all right, and past the border too. I kept searching around and found a clump of fur snagged on a stick. I sniffed it. Darkfang! But what's that, their is blood on the other side of the border too, and it was trailing back towards camp! I hesitated for a second, then ran across the border. I kept myself hidden, low to the ground, following the blood trail. It led straight into camp. I peered through a hole and saw all the cats in the clearing.
"I saw it all Downystar, Browntail of ThunderClan crossed the border and murdered Shadetooth. As revenge, I killed Browntail." Darkfang explained.
"Liar." I mumbled under my breath.
"Very well. As a reward for you, you will be the new deputy." Downystar meowed. She stood up straight, "I call upon my warrior ancestors to look down upon us and approve of my choice. Darkfang is my new deputy." Darkfang smirked and I could tell he had dark thoughts for his Clan.
"Thank you Downystar, but I still think we should continue our situation. We should attack ThunderClan!!" Darkfang yowled. There were murmurs of agreement, but Downystar looked confused.
"Why would you say that, don't you think we have punished them enough by killing their warrior?" Downystar mewed.
"They don't know that Browntail killed Shadetooth. All they know is that someone killed Browntail, and they will most likely expect us. We should attack them before they attack us." Darkfang meowed.
"I guess your right." Downystar mewed, looking impressed. "We will attack them now!" I gasped and backed away.
"I must go back and warn ThunderClan." I muttered. I ran as fast as I could towards the border. I could faintly hear the ShadowClan cats yowling as they headed towards me. I was worried they knew I was there, but they seemed to busy thinking about the battle. And as dark neared, it was almost impossible to see me from a distance. As I neared camp, I stopped to think what I would say. How can I tell them that I crossed the border to spy on an enemy Clan? They would think it was a trap. As I went to take another step forward, a chilling voice stopped me in my tracks.
"Stop right there Rainpaw!" Darkfang yowled. I turned to face the whole of ShadowClan behind me. "You weren't thinking of warning ThunderClan of us coming, right!"
"Actually, I was! I'm part of their Clan now because they believe I am innocent." My lip curled up to a snarl as I faced the tom. His eyes turned to slits. I turned when the voice of Speckledfur interrupted the silence.
"I knew you were a traitor! You brought all of ShadowClan to attacks us!" Speckledfur spat.
"No, it's not what you think! I was coming to warn you, when they stopped-" I was cut off by the shrieking yowl from Darkfang as the new deputy leapt on the warrior. Suddenly, a battle broke out. ThunderClan cats ran out of camp and stopped in horror. Then the ShadowClan cats yowled with anger and started attacking the cats. I stood in the midst of the battle, uncertain what to do. I was knocked over by Reedberry. His teeth dug into my scruff as he pounded hard on my back with his hind legs. I wiggled underneath him, then suddenly knew what to do. I let my body go limp and Reedberry loosened his grip. I shot out from underneath him, not caring for the clumps of fur that tore off. I turned to face him again, giving him a menacing glare. He charged towards me, but I jumped to the side, clawing his side as he ran by. He yowled with anger as the blood spluttered out of the scratches. He leapt on my back, but I rolled over, crushing him under my weight. He pushed me off with his hind legs, but I was prepared. I twisted in the air, only to face him again. I stood up on my hind legs and crashed down on his back. Then I gave him a hard bite on his leg and he ran off into the bushes. I spun around to face the battle, we were losing. There was only one thing I could do, get help from WindClan.
Chapter Eight:
I ran straight into the WindClan camp, ignoring any cats that tried to stop me, though they were just startled. Then ran right into Dawnstar's den. He woke with a startle.
"Rainpaw, why are you here?" Dawnstar mewed.
"ShadowClan is attacking us and we are losing!" I cried.
"And you want our help? Okay-Wait, did you say SHADOWCLAN is attacking you? Aren't you in ShadowClan." Dawnstar asked.
"I'm in ThunderClan now, but there is no time to explain. Get as many warriors you can to help!" I wailed, kneading the ground impatiently. He nodded without asking any questions and walked out to the clearing.
"ThunderClan needs our help, ShadowClan is attacking them! We will go to aid them in the battle. Sorrelleaf, Grasswhisker, Hawkclaw, Rabbitear, and Ferndust will go." Dawnstar announced. There were yowls of excitement as the cats ran out of the camp. I ran in front of the group leaping over anything that got in my way. Fear was pulsing through my body as I though of the battle again. Then my mind found it's way to Darkfang, the treacherous cat that started the whole thin. My lip curled into a snarl, "I won't let him ruin the Clans!" I muttered to myself. As we neared the battle, I let out a yowl to show of my arrival. The WindClan cats joined in as we burst through the bushes. There were frightened looks on the ShadowClan cats and the ThunderClan looked relieved. I searched the battle for Darkfang, but I couldn't find him. Nest thing I knew, I was knocked over by the familiar black tom.
"You think you can defeat me with your puny WindClan cats! You're wrong, and soon I will take over all of the forest." Darkfang spat as he pinned me to the ground. My eyes flashed with anger.
"I will never let you ruin the Clans, your treachery is over!" I hissed, trying to push him off of me. He cackled,
"But don't you see! I'm just getting started!" He yowled.
"Never!" I growled and pushed as hard as I could with my hind legs. I was sent flying and hit the ground with a hard thud; I quickly jumped up. His eyes flashed open and he got to his paws. But before he could attack me, there was a loud call.
"Retreat!" Downystar called. All the ShadowClan cats started running towards the border, the ThunderClan and WindClan cats hard on their feet.
"That'll teach you not to mess with us!" Deerstripe yowled. Darkfur took one last glance back at me.
"We'll meet again." He snarled, then turned and followed his clan mates. Shivers were sent down my spine, what was I to do?
"Rainpaw!" Goldenpaw called over to me, "Rainpaw, are you all right?" I looked at my shoulder, it was stinging a bit. But I didn't need immediate attention.
"Just a scratch, but I don't need anything right now." I mewed. She nodded and got to work on the other cats. I walked over to her.
"Is there anything I can do to help?" I asked.
"Can you back to the medicine den and get me more cobwebs and marigold." She replied, not even looking up to answer. I nodded and walked back to camp. It all seemed so calm now, but will happen next?
((I also updated the names a bit!))
