Recently i have decided upon, in the near future, making custom figurines to sell. Ive already figured out a startup cost and the materials and all, etc. The only thing that is left is to decide what to start with. First of all i need to know about copyright laws, like if i make any negima, bleach, or figurines of the like that are of published anime-manga, and sell them, will i get hunted down by the cops eek . another thing is if i can make these, then some of the main ones i will make are negima, of course (naturally since its my favorite manga). Probably the first will be an Asuna of her pactio card, and if i do make this, i want to know how well it would sell and id also like tohave some suggestions for other ones i could make that would sell well. (no naruto plz) Also id like to know of any other negima figurines that are commercially available in any way, ive only found one and got lucky at an anime con and bought it outright. Keep in mind that high quality male figurines are a rarity and that a figurine i may make that an equivilant would sell anywhere in america for about 80-100, so mine should be considerablly cheaper.

Wow! This sounds like a wicked awesome idea! Yeah, generally I see people selling their crafts at conventions... I don't think they needed to acquire any kind of license, after all... It's not being mass-made and sold. I don't think you'd be making enough profit for them to want to come and hunt you down.
I definitely encourage you to make some and then post the pictures! biggrin I'd love to see them. Furthermore, there are other Negima figurines out. I went to a convention in May and discovered some that were the size of my palm. =] I'm not sure what the brand was or anything... But commercial ones do exist!
