Most of my Moms family live on Cape Breton Island. I like to think of it as my second home. I visit every Summer.

Hey! I live here in Halifax. Just a note on history.. The Halifax Explosion happened in 1917 during the first World War.. so that makes it the 20th century hun. wink
Halifax was colonized in the the mid-18th century, making the city almost 300 years old. The Province as a whole is a bit older. First explored and settle by the French Acadians, then conquered by the British. Nova Scotia like most of the Maritime provinces was a region of the New World that was constantly under conflict... Eventually the region was settled mostly by Irish & Scottish settlers. Which is why it was eventually called New Scotland in Latin. This has lent a strong Celtic heritage to the region, and many folk have kept up with the traditions of the old world, Celtic Culture & it's history.
I'm a bit of a bard. redface and hope I haven't droned anyone to sleep yet.. lol But outside of what you can find online, if you have any questions about our fine province, just ask. biggrin
