Some of us feel the need to discuss politics, so I've decided to set up this thread. I think a good rule would be that you can insult politicians but be respectful of your fellow guild members. Ok? Go.

WOOT! biggrin You're so good Valkyrie my dear 3nodding

Okay here we go... my political rant for the week...

The Sydney City council want to charge people $3.50 to get in and out of the main CDB, it's highway robbery and I refuse to pay it!
How greedy can they get, they've put in a cross city tunnel which has caused more trouble than good so far, and now just becuase the vast majority of us have e-tags so we can use it they pull this one out of the blue.
What a bunch of bastards! I swear they won't get away with it! The people will rise up and take control of the state! er... okay the people will protest at this grave money hungry plot.
Oh here's their little justification: "Sydney is too congested we need less people there"
Before they were bitching and moaning about how there;s not enough commerce there and that people are going elsewhere to do business. Well no wonder!
ARG! scream

Okay I'm done... sorry that scared even me.... however I did manage to put in a bad pun there sweatdrop

Good rant.

Where are you going until November 10?

Ok, what on earth is going on in France right now? As I understand it, two young kids of African descent thought they were being chased by the police (but they weren't) and then got electrocuted, so people of African descent are now rioting? I don't get it. The police weren't actually chasing the kids, and the deaths were completely accidental.

Now, it's being said that these rioters are upset that they don't get equal treatment. Do they think that acting like hoodlums will fix that?

I'm not really sure what's going on in France. I just know it's been going on for ten days, and it really needs to stop soon. As far as things in Sydney go, I wouldn't know, I live in California, but I've gotten really sick and tired of paying for gas. (3.25 a gallon?! scream stressed )

Wow, Takuya, gas is down to $2.38/gallon here in Colorado.

Our gas prices are skyrocketing... more people are using public transport and therefore that's becoming expensive too sad

Now about the France riots, well not too long ago we had a similar problem in Sydney, a young Aboriginal boy was being chased by police and had an accident which took his life (I believe he was impaled by a pole or something) same thing happened.
Racial tensions just get too high strung, people who for long periods of time have felt oppressed or fustrated just errupt with anger and do such things.
sad
It's a sad world.

But everything is just about double price in California, isn't it? It's finally wormed its way back below three dollars(2.64).

My current political worry is the workplace reforms... It's all designed to fit in with the world trade agreement and will do nothing but lower the quality of life for Australians... Damn Howard cry

Well, that's true. Our gas is now $2.08 at the cheapest place in town.
