This is more than just a silly little writing prompt. This is meant to challenge you to be a better writer. I hope you all seize the opportunity.
With nothing more to say, I wish you all the best of luck!

Ah! I've thought of a question!!
Soooooo... when you say it must be completely original... and when you say it can't be based off an anime, video game, movie, or television show (and I assume you meant to include books in there as well) then do you mean 1) we can't write a story based on the story of one of the aforementioned, 2) we can't write a story based on the characters of one of the above, or 3) we can't write a story based off the... I guess the world(s) that are written about in one of the above?
You know... just to pinpoint the degree of "originality" you expect to see... Cause I probably could come up with my own humongous world with it's little idiosyncrasies, but it might take me a bit longer to do so..
Random, rather nit-picky question, right? Sorry! 0 smile ((<<- That was supposed to be an angelic face, but it doesn't really work very well does it? xD))

Hmm…I’ll try to answer this best as I can xD
Can I give a list of examples of what I wouldn’t want?
I wouldn’t want…:
…an eighth book to the Harry Potter series with your own original characters. …a “fan fiction” like story featuring the main characters of…Sailor Moon. …any type of “Alternate Universe” story with the main cast of characters being from an established work. …your own original character in the Naruto world.
…Yeah. So. Mm.
You don’t need to make up a completely new world to feature your characters in…just nothing blatantly from a book or anime. Like…if your story had a reference to a…”Spring of Drowned Pig” in which anyone that touched the water turned into a pig…I would know you took it from Ranma ½. And that’s no bueno.
You can have a similar world. Like…if you wanted a futuristic type of scene and used Star Wars as your inspiration, that would be okay. I would just expect different names for the battleships and galaxies…and perhaps “The Force” and light sabers should not be there o.o
It’s like a role play, I think o.o Like The Kingdom: Kiss of Chaos…simply a medieval fantasy world. I’m not going to mind much if your world doesn’t have set laws, history, government…it’s not an overbearing factor xD
Just like your role play characters…I’m sure some of your more established ones have a history…and they probably aren’t necessary tied to a certain game or movie…but they kind of live in their own world. Draw on that. I think…the world should be simple. Pick a setting: medieval, present, future…and just run with it. For characters…just try not to base your character on someone. They should be unique, with eccentric behaviors inspired by your own creativity…not what you saw off Bleach.
I dunno. I hope I answered this question well enough xD It’s a good question. I’m just not sure how to answer it…and I’m falling asleep @_@ No bueno.

Thought of another question about the prompt XD
I know you said we have to quote it, but is that ALL we have to do?
Ex. Can we make the entire story something entirely unrelated and work it in somewhere? Or, does the prompt have to be the main like, central theme? Sorry if I'm getting too specific XD just wanna be clear. I could write it either way.

Another ~possibly~ dumb question. When does this contest end? I've got writing time to kill, but I can't get on Gaia often, and so I can't send it to you... Also, when you say third person, do you mean third omnicient? Because I never paid much attention while they were talking about that stuff in English 1. Too busy writing smile . Thanks.

Not a dumb question :3
I understand your...special circumstance. So, if you private message me, we can work something out. Or text me. You have my number. And I definitely want you to be able to participate in this.
Third person...just, "He did this. She said that."
As opposed to, "I ate a banana" or using "you" in a sentence that isn't dialogue.
The narrator's perspective doesn't matter. It can be limited to the main character's knowledge or omniscient. Hope that answers your question :3
