I am a fan of the Japenese Sub. I do like the dub but I think the sub is better. Of course if you don't want to read, the dub is for you. I also like the manga. Sailor Moon is a classical example of Magical Girl Manga.

Sailor Moon (美少女戦士セーラームーン ,Bishōjo Senshi Sērā Mūn?, officially translated as Pretty Soldier Sailor Moon) is the title of a Japanese media franchise created by Naoko Takeuchi. It is credited by scholars such as Fred Patten with popularizing the concept of a sentai (team) of magical girls,[1][2] as well as "revitalizing" the magical girl genre itself.[3]

The story of the various metaseries revolves around the reincarnated defenders of a kingdom that once spanned the solar system, and around the evil forces that they battle. The major characters—called Sailor Senshi (literally "Sailor Soldiers"; frequently called "Sailor Scouts" in the North American version)—are teenage girls who can transform into heroines named for the moon and planets (Sailor Moon, Sailor Mercury, Sailor Mars, etc). The use of "Sailor" comes from a style of girls' school uniform popular in Japan, the sērā fuku (sailor outfit), after which the Senshi's uniforms are modeled. The elements of fantasy in the series are heavily symbolic and often based on mythology.

The Sailor Moon manga was preceded by Codename: Sailor V, which centered around just one Sailor Senshi. Takeuchi devised the idea when she wanted to create a cute series about girls in outer space, and her editor asked her to put them in sailor fuku.[4] When Sailor V was proposed for adaptation into an anime, the concept was modified so that Sailor V herself became only one member of a team. The resulting manga series was a fusion of the popular magical girl and sentai genres of which Takeuchi was a fan,[5] making Sailor Moon one of the first series ever to combine the two.

The manga resulted in spinoffs into other types of media, including a highly popular anime, as well as musical theatre productions, video games, and a live-action (tokusatsu) series. Although most concepts in the many versions overlap, often notable differences occur, and thus continuity between the different formats is limited.

I think I like the manga better then the anime, but usally manga is better. Its kinda of like books and movies of the books I guess. Both good but usally the one you read is better. Anyway. If you've never seen Sailor Moon, I suggest strongly to go watch it.
It was my very first anime that I had ever watched. I think the first time I saw it was the movie with Rini (Chibiusa) and the evil person making all the children have nightmares, I think it was the SuperS movie. I tried for years to find it again but never could untill recently.
Last year I finally found what I had been looking for, and instantly fell for it. And soon you couldn't keep me from anime. I spend all last summer watching it and watching it. And when I finally got to the last episode I broke out in tears. My mom asked me what was wrong and I said, "I'm at the end. Its Over. Its Sooo SAD!" My mom laughed at me. She didn't like me watching it anyway. And soon she had to deal with a brand new anime freak. Well, before then I watched Naruto (Ew. I realize that now) and Pokemon and Dragonball Z. But I soon dropped those and looked everywhere for new anime. And then a couple of months ago, I fell for manga as well. sweatdrop So Sailor Moon is what started me on anime and manga. Its a very wonderful show.
Personally, my favorite is Chibiusa and Hotaru and Chibi Chibi. They are so cute with their littleness!
