It happened because Tony Iommi was working in a steel mill and the blade cut off the tips of his middle and ring fingers so he had to downtune his guitar so it would hurt less. They also loved horror movies so they worked them into their songs.

Ozzy's good but I prefer the Dio Sabbath.
