Note: If there is anything I may have skipped over about TWEWY, or if something about TWEWY confuses you, please use
this Wiki.
If you are confused about anything having to do with the RP, please
READ THIS POST THOROUGHLY! If you have an absolutely burning question that is not addressed in this post, you may contact me only after reading this post.
This RP may be a little different than what you may be used to on Gaia. This will function more like D & D, with a DM (the Composer) and a dungeon (in this case, Shibuya).
You have just died and have been selected to participate in the Reaper's Game that takes place in Tokyo's Shibuya district in an alternate plane called the UG, or Under Ground. You participate as a Player (or a Reaper if you so choose). Over the course of one week, you will participate in missions that award you points. By the end of the week, whosoever has the most points will be the winner and given the choice of either 1) coming back to life and leaving the RP, 2) returning to the game as a Player or a Reaper, or 3) overthrowing the Composer. More on this later.
About TWEWY, or The World Ends With You:The World Ends With You is an action RPG that was released in April of 2008. It is most well-known for its graphics style, techno/J-pop soundtrack, and its unique battle system.
Some differences between the game and this RP:
1) For this purpose, Players will act as individuals as opposed to groups of 2.
2) While the Game Master Reaper in the game is the one that assigns the missions, in this RP it will be the Composer. Should the Composer be away from the RP for an extended period of time, they may assign a proxy, the Conductor, who will act in the Composer’s stead assigning missions as they see fit. Once the real Composer returns, however, the Conductor shall then return to the Game as what they were before. Consequently, they will forfeit any points they may have gained during that period. The Composer must have permission of their prospective Conductor because of this.
3) There is no interaction between the UG and the RG, the world of the living.
4) The only playable Reapers may be Harriers. Support Reapers will just be temporary NPCs created by the Composer, and Officer ranks are made null by the Composer’s role in this RP.
5) Each “week” is composed of 7 missions, or “days.” While in TWEWY, there is usually a time limit imposed, there is no time limit here. Once the mission is complete a day will pass. This does not mean that each mission must be completed in one day real time. One mission=one day. Got it?
Participation in the RP:You may participate as either a Player or a Reaper. All character sheet submissions must be sent to me via PM. I will then post them in the RPers post. Character sheet at the bottom.
A note on Reapers: If you want to be a Reaper, you must be OK’ed by me. Reapers have the ability to Erase Players, but they must use monsters, or Noise, to do it. The only time Reapers may attack Players directly is the last day. Of course, godmodding is not allowed. If I find a Reaper is godmodding, I can expel them from the RP.
Players: As a Player, you may attack Reapers directly at any time, but only if you are attacked first. Remember that your ultimate goal is to complete the mission. If you are erased, you must stay out of the Game for the rest of the day you were erased plus the next day. If you are erased on Day 6, you may ask permission to come back on Day 7 to complete the Game. If you are erased on Day 7, you may forfeit half of your total points if you wish to come back and finish.
Overthrowing the Composer:If the Player wishes, they may choose to attempt to overthrow the Composer if they are the winner of the Game. They must fight for the title of Composer. The Composer is allowed certain powers that no one else may have, but is not immortal and is not impervious to everything. If the Player wins, they are promoted to Composer. If the Composer wins, they may remain Composer unless they voluntarily step down. If the Composer does lose, they can reenter the Game as either a Player or a Reaper, or leave the RP.
About the Composer: The Composer is, in effect, God. They assign the missions and watch over the activities. As stated before, they are allowed special powers, but they are not immune to everything. They may not attack Players or Reapers directly during the Game and are only allowed to fight when challenged. The current Composer is only allowed to refer back to me if an RPer is breaking the rules.
Psychs:Psychs are essentially your weapons. Reapers are only allowed Noise and one Pin for attacking Players. Players may choose between card type Psychs and Pin Psyches. Go crazy here. If you need help and/or inspiration, refer to the Wiki at the top of the page. If you choose Pins, you are allowed one deck of 6 Pins.
Note: You don’t have to stick to just those. Come up with your own if you want.
Shibuya: Your dungeon. Follow
this map from TWEWY.
If the mission tells you to go to a certain location, you may NOT teleport there, eg. “Mei went to CAT Street from the Scramble Crossing.” You may move directly to adjacent districts, eg. “Mei went to Center St. from the Scramble.”
The Composer may put up a barrier between areas that is guarded by a Support Reaper. The Support Reaper will give a task in order to break the barrier. Some tasks may involve erasing Noise. Noise can only be erased one at a time.
