Technologies
Weapon Technologies:Gas Projectile - For several hundred years, the Konigserker have used the expanding gases of explosive compounds to propel solid projectiles. While the materials involved have changed over time, the principle remains the same.
Electromagnetic Rail (EMR) Cannon - The KSR has a variety of weapons that heat and propel molten iron using a combination of magnetic fields and EM lasers based on the mechanism and principles of the Harper Longblaster. Konigserker EMR fires a much heavier projectile that conveys much more energy to the target, but consequentially requires more power, is less accurate, and has shorter range, in comparison to the Harper Longblaster and other Laser-Projected Plasma weaponry.
Guided/Unguided Ordnance - The Konigserker have a wide variety of Guided and Unguided explosive ordnance in the form of grenades, mines, missiles, bombs, and torpedoes. These differ in all qualities except for their reliance on the release of chemically stored energy to do damage.
Electro-Explosive (EE) Ordnance - Essentially weaponized Electron Cells, EE Ordnance is expensive, but smaller and higher yield than their conventional counterparts.
Buffered Thermonuclear Ordnance - The Konigserker use some heavy weaponry that relies on thermonuclear reactions to do damage. However, thanks to trade via the Stargate, the Konigserker are able to include special materials purchased from the Mirai that absorb harmful radiation and release EM instead. The introduction of Buffer Particles has removed any inhibitions the Konigserker had about using Thermonuclear Ordnance.
Defense Technologies:Plasmoid Infusion Ceramics - Plasmoid Infusion Ceramics are extremely high quality ceramics manufactured in plasmoid suspensions that enable very fine control of ingredients. These ceramics have a wide range of properties and are generally better performing than their metal counterparts would be, though they come with the risk of catastrophic failure if tolerances are exceeded.
Most notably, Plasmoid Infusion Ceramics can be made to be superconducting. These ceramics are formed from the plasmoid directly and as such, when immersed in a plasmoid field, will continue to grow. The Konigserker use this to create more durable armor plating by charging the ceramic with energized plasma; any defect in the ceramic plate (such as might be caused by weaponsfire) will bleed plasma, rebuilding the ceramic plate until it completely encloses the plasmoid again. This process is called Plasma Reinforcement to distinguish it from Plasmoid Infusion Ceramics.
Energy Technologies:Laser Ignition Plasma Fusion - Within the last century, the KSR developed viable fusion power by using lasers to heat magnetically compressed plasma to the point of fusion.
Plasma Filtration - A central feature of KSR Fusion power is the use of modulated plasma to insulate and reflect harmful high energy radiation back into the fusing core without blocking harmless radiation and heat. Plasma Filtration makes Fusion Reactors much more efficient, especially when used to generate electrical energy.
Electron Cell - Electron Cells are power storage devices used throughout the KSR in a variety of sizes with varying outputs. Electron Cells consist of two insulated chambers, one containing a free electron cloud compressed to liquid and the other containing a lattice of positively charged, electron-less nuclei.
Communication Technologies:Subspace Comm - The KSR has taken very quickly to subspace communication, converting all but their short range communication equipment to subspace. They utilize a wide repertoire of subspace frequencies and also make use of various encryption and coding algorithms.
Sensor Technologies:Radar - For several centuries the Konigserker people have made use of active radar sensors in various forms with various levels of sophistication. They have continued to use radar as they begin to build space-going vessels despite its relatively short range.
Subspace Echo - Subspace Echo sensors operate on the same basic principles as radar, but for subspace. As subspace sensors, they are fairly sophisticated, but being able to map subspace very accurately has limited usefulness to the Konigserker, who use subspace to detect features of normal space and hyperspace. The primary advantage, however, is the significantly longer range than radar. These sensors can do little more than detect strong gravitational or magnetic fields.
Drive Technologies:Laser Ignition Fusion Drive - The Laser Ignition Fusion Drive is simply a thrust system based on a fusion reaction. The Fusion Drive magnetically compresses plasma and then triggers fusion using laser ignition. The fusing plasma, seeded with buffer particles to eliminate harmful radiation, expands rapidly through ports to produce thrust. Energy collectors at the sides of these ports glean just enough energy to compress more plasma fuel to continue to feed the reaction. The Laser Ignition Fusion Drive can be seen as a nuclear rendition of a jet turbine engine.
Hyperdrive - The Konigserker Republic has purchased a number of Hyperdrive units with the goal of reverse engineering the technology to produce their own Hyperdrive technology. Currently, they have only one successful prototype of a Konigserker Hyperdrive, the unit built into the
K.R.S. Basilisk. However, the KRN does make use of a number of Hyperdrives assembled in the Republic from foreign components.
