Dimensions: There are four fundamental spatial dimensions: 1. Energy Space - Energy Space is a dimension consisting only of energy and inhabited by pure energy beings, known to some as Ascended or gods. 2. Hyperspace - Hyperspace is a parallel dimension of correspondingly higher energy levels to Normal Space, divided from Normal Space by the light speed barrier. Due to its higher energy levels, travel at light speed in Hyperspace is equivalent to travel at faster than light speeds in Normal Space. Thus crossing into Hyperspace is an effective means for crossing interstellar divides in practical time periods, often mere days. 3. Normal Space - Normal Space is the dimension of matter and energy that is inhabited by life. 4. Subspace - As Hyperspace can be viewed as a higher dimension to Normal Space, Subspace is a lower dimension, defined by significantly lower energy levels that allow for faster than light (relative to Normal Space) propagation of energy waves. As such, Subspace is commonly used as a means for communication across interstellar distances.

Subspace and (Artificial) Gravity:
It has been found that high energy Subspace fields can be used to produce gravity fields in Normal Space. This is the mechanism by which Warp Drives distort Normal Space. This is also used to produce artificial gravity fields by creating high frequency Subspace micro-fields that effectively create a monopolar gravity field.
