It's kinda weird that it doesn't apply to you.
You can still summon zombies and skeletons, use black soul gems, wear necromancer robes, own and read the tome of unlife, use that one staff that turns corpses into minions temporarily (I forgot what it what called), and litter bones and skulls all over the arcane university; no one will take any notice.
I like to use black soul gems on the necromancers with names, enchant rings with them and name the rings after them. It's like poetic justice.
