If you'd like to join in, please make a post including the characters you will be role-playing as well as a short description of each; it is okay to introduce new characters as you go along if you have more than one.
A couple tips for role-playing: Be sure to separate out of character talk ((like this)) or by some similar method. You don't have to, but I think it's useful to colorize the speech of the wyrms just to make it stand out.
List of characters: Inejwstine Erebos -- Evil but subtle lord of darkness; adoptive father of Kyle (Ba'Erab). Kyle -- (aka Ba'Erab) Tall and skinny boy of about 15; bonded to Erebos, who's dark powers have seeped into his being, causing his long hair to be unnaturally white. Often acts confident, but is usually self-consious and unsure of himself.
Hyacinth -- A young female wyrm of the shadow element. She has a strange, and sometimes desturbing, obsession with blood. Jonas -- Age 17; moderate height and weight; has short brown hair and wears a blue bandana; normally a quiet boy, though he has a very strong sense of justice and is very protective of his friends. Bonded to Hyacinth.
Randi Thyra: Fire/wind Wyrm, only current daughter of Thayne and Xyleea, bonded to Toran.
Toran: 15 years old, a coward of sorts. He doesn't like to know what's not going on around him. He's never in control of any situation, even if he tries to act like it. He's rather skinny, but is about the average height for a girl. Fairly okay with a bow when it's called for, but is mainly a clutz. Scared of virtually everything. Bonded to Thyra.
RyuNero Altan - A Fire Wyrm with no apparent background or lineage. Able to summon a HellHound with his necklace. Bonded to Sapheria. Sapheria - A 15 year old female healer who's gone through quite a bit for her age. Knows a lot about standard healing and curing. Standard build for her smaller-then-normal height. Short blonde hair to the bottom of her neck, ice blue eyes and black tribal healer markings under her left eye and down her left arm. She's generally calm and collective, always trying to think of some way before acting. She's bonded to Altan.
Coalan - A 13 year old Healer apprentice of Sapheria's, he follows her nearly everywhere she goes. He's a bit brash and blunt, but is too much of a coward to back up his words. He's afraid of anything taller then him and traveling at high speeds. Coalan is rather short, shorter then all of his siblings. Short dusty brown hair and a pair of navy blue eyes adorn his pale delicate features.

The night was cold and dark; black clouds obscured the stars and moonlight. An enormous figure sat at on a hill overlooking the surrounding land, which consisted of a small village and lake surrounded on all sides by a light forest; he was practically invisible to anyone not looking carefully. He breathed uneasily and idley clawed at the ground. Why had his instincts told him to come here; to this puny settlement?
"Anything wrong, Father?" asked a boy's voice, who approached him and seemed to be able to see him easily.
"What do you want?" Erebos asked in an annoyed voice.
"Uh-um... I was j-just..." Kyle stuttered. Nearly eight years of living with him, and he still scared him.
"Stop stuttering Ba'Erab. It makes you look weak."
"S-sorry." Kyle cleared his throat. "I just noticed you weren't asleep, and I--"
"Of course not, fool! It's dark! Have you ever seen me sleep in the darkness when my powers are strongest?"
"I-I..." He cleared his throat again. "I just thought you might be tired after our long flight. I know I was, and I wasn't even the one flying."
Erebos sighed slowly. "I suppose I appreciate your concern. And pardon my impatience. You interrupted my thoughts... Something's here. Something that I need to find..."
"Sorry to disturb," Kyle said, then returned to the cave he had been sleeping in before.

Jonas awoke with a start. He rubbed his eyes and tried hard to remember what his dream had been about... It was scary, he knew that... but he couldn't remember the exact details. Something about... the dark? Jonas smirked. So I'm afraid of the dark now he thought. He forgot about it and got dressed, then headed outside to start his chores before his father accused him of sleeping in again. Outside the town was just starting to wake up; birds sang, livestock shuffled about behind their fences, and merchants began to set up their shops. Jonas hurried around back to the barn. There had been talk earlier about a band of people passing through later that night; magicians, gypsies, storytellers, and the like. He wanted to be sure he was finished before they got there as it would be the only exciting thing that would likely happen for ages...
((I now await further posts... 3nodding ))

((You think me a n00b? -acts offended-))
"Thyra, watch it!"
Quit being such a sissy.
"Sissy is me clinging when you take off. Yelling at you when you dive close to something dangerous is caring!"
They sound awefully a lot like the exact same thing. Besides, it's only a village. What could possibly go wrong?
Toran clung tighterto the female wyrm beneath his, her powerful flame-like colored wings pumping as she soared effortlessly through the air. Occasionally, Thyra would blow a puff of smoke in the air, only to be scolded afterwards by him and have a chance to scare him out of his wits. It didn't seem to take much to do that, though the redheaded teenager would have prefferred it otherwise. Thyra's snakey body suddenly dropped, a red ribbon cutting through the night sky. "There's no arguing with you so close after the sunset," he growled slightly, his hold on her increasing as she pulled up.
Sunrise will come and then there'll be no end to my complaining and your whining. 'Stop going too fast, Thy'!' Thyra's mental voice took on a mocking tone to her bonded, high pitched and maybe sort of through the nose, assuming that thoughts could be formed in such a way. It's always that or the ever famous 'Don't set that on fire!', which is hardly any better than 'WHAT IN THE NAME OF >Insert some famous mortal that seems to have a monthly model< ARE YOU DOING?!' Thyra laughed, very well aware that her bonded's green eyes were boring into the back of her skull.
"As true as that may be, you've no right to make fun of me," Toran said, slightly pouting that Thyra had, after all this time, developed no sensitivity to how he felt about things. A soft croon came from her direction, trying to soothe him. He sighed, fingers that clutched her horns slowly rubbing at them to rid them of dirt. "I'd be more worried if you didn't pick at me, honestly."
Naaaaaah, she replied, slowing to a sort of slow glide. She paused, head turning downwards. Her bonded's hand lifted from them, fingers, nails and all, clinging to her sides instead. Now why possibly could a town/village/whateverthingy like that be awakening at this hour?
"Beats me," Toran said through clenched teeth, forcing himself to look towards the ground as well. Thyra slowly dropped down, circling like a vulture over a kill. "Ask someone?" he said, retaining the thought for a moment that maybe Thyra wouldn't. The hope was very shortlived.
Fine, she said, mind searching someone's to poke at. Finally, she found a suitable candidate for her question, after a one person search, which had started with a hog farmer who couldn't tell day from night. Discarding that option, she tried to bespeak the boy (Jonas) below. Heya!

(( xd If anyone (even me) calls you a n00b when it comes to role-playing ever again, you sock 'em in the mouth for me, will you? wink BTW, sorry I took so long getting back... I had an all day swim meet today, and man am I wasted! stare ))
Jonas turned to look around, but saw no one. "Who's there?" he called. Then he thought he heard a sound - a sort of rushing sound - above him. He looked up, then nearly felt his jaw hit the ground. He did, however, feel his shovel hit his foot as he dropped it from surprise. "Ouch!" he said, looking down at his foot for the briefest of seconds, then looking back up, half-expecting the thing to be gone. It wasn't... the enormous creature was still there, as real as he was. Could it really be... a Wyrm? Could the stories he'd heard since he was little really be true?
"Uhhh..." Jonas didn't know what to say; how does one address a wyrm? "Um, good morning to you my... uh, My Lady. How may I help you?" He decided My Lady would be a safe enough choice.

((Yes ma'am. xD It's fine. I shouldn't be on. Cousin staying the night tonight.))
Thyra couldn't believe that he was shocked to see her. She giggled as he hurt himself, not because he had hurt himself, it was more for the fact that he was in awe. Toran had seen Wyrms before when she'd bonded to him, every humanoid she came in conteact with had had similar experiences. She relayed what he had said to Toran so he wouldn't hear only half the conversation, rumbling softly as she flew.
"I'm sure the 'My Lady' part isn't really helping, is it?" Toran grumbled, only making Thyra's rumble even louder. She began to decend towards the other, her whirls becoming tighter until she almost touched her own tail.
Of course not, she told him, returning her attention to the boy. What are all of you doing up this late. Or is it early? What's your name? I'm Thyra. The scaredy cat is Toran. After a brief mental poke from her bonded, her mind voice sighed. Very well, he demands it be known he's my bonded. Am I the first wyrm you've seen? Her questions were hardly contemplated before she began to spew them.
Toran sighed again, arms tightening as Thyra's body hit the ground. She skidded slowly to a stop, turning her head towards Jonas. The wings on her tail beat at a slow tempo, lifting her tail slightly off the ground until she ordered them to behave. Get off, she told Toran, trying to shake the boy off.
"Yes, mistress." Toran said, eyes rolling. He slid down her back like one would a slide, landing with a very undignified thump, front roll, and finally a splat on the ground. He scrambled to his feet, boots kicking up a bit of dirt. He brushed off the gorund that had managed to cling to his person. He looked at the older boy, saying nothing.

Jonas backed up hastily as Thyra approached and ended up tripping over a rock and falling hard onto his back. He stood up once again, frustraighted that he wasn't making a very good first impression with such a magnificent creature. "M-my name is Jonas. The village is just awakening to prepare for the travelling carnival. And yes, you are the first Wyrm I've seen. I... that is we believed the great dragons were all dead... none have been to this side of the country for decades, and the only ones who ever talk about them are the elderly... so you mean to say there are actually more of you?!" Jonas asked, his fear quickly turning into excitement.
"Jonas!" An older man's voice called from a ways off.
"Uh oh... oh no! You two need to leave now! You can't be seen! If someone notices, they'll suring sound the alarm!"

It's a pleasure to meet you Jonas. Thyra said politely, listening as someone called for him. Of course there are more of us. Quite a few, actually. Why did you think we'd died off? She asked in an irritated voice. Had no Wyrms had the sense to come and show themselves to these poor people? No wonder he was now telling her to run. Why should we run? Wyrms deserve respect, not fear. She asked, nevertheless stretching her wings to prepare for flight. Toran could pass for a normal person. he was normal, compared to some others.

"I mean no disrespect, honest! It's just that, if anyone around here sees you they'll think you're a monster! Just please go--"
"Jonas? Didn't you hear me calling you?" Jonas turned to see his father standing behind him. "Who are you talking to?"
"I was just... um..."
"Ah, who is this?" his father asked, motioning to Toran.
Jonas breathed a sigh of relief. "This is... T-Toran. He's a friend of mine," he said, passing Toran an urgent look, willing him to play along.

Erebos looked down upon Ba'Erab, who was still asleep. The sunlight was high, nearing almost noon. Lazy little grub... he thought to himself, though he did not wake him. He continued looking at his small form, huddled beneath his one blanket and snoring softly. Erebos had begun having the most curious of sentiments during their last year together; one of which bordered on what might be called compassion for the little human, though he shared none of this with Ba'Erab. He finally looked away, and returned to the overlooking hill. His eyes narrowed. A caravan of sorts was making its way along the forest road. His lips curled into a grin. There! He spotted - or rather envisioned - an old man, white with age, riding upon a black horse decorated with purple and gold cloth. Following was a mule laden with two large trunks, which held curious artifacts. That was what he was looking for! Whatever he intended to find, he would find with the old man. They were headed for the village, but they would not leave... he would see to that.

((If you don't mind, I'm going to say that about an hour has passed. If you're against this, say so and I'll edit the post. whee ))
Jonas handed Toran a shovel. "Afraid we've got one last job to do... the stables. Uh... sorry, once again."
Having believed Jonas's story about Toran being one of his friends, Jonas's father put the two of them to work, first piling hay, feeding the livestock, and finally cleaning the stables. He told them if they finished it all, he would give them both a bit of money to spend at the carnival. Jonas, not wanting to appear conspicuous, agreed... and volunteered Toran to do the work with him. He had appologized up and down profusely for the past hour, and attempted to work as fast as he could so as to decrease Toran's embarassment.
Jonas tossed a scoop of manure into the barrow and asked, "So, um... Where do you suppose Thyra's gone?" he asked, attempting to start a conversation after making sure his father wasn't anywhere near.
