My wife went to see the Broadway production of Wicked the other night, and came home raving about how very steampunk it was. She said that the whole time she felt a little guilty that I wasn't there and she was. So I guess I'll pass this second-hand recommendation along to you. Wicked is apparently steampunk!
Anyone seen it? Or plan to?

I saw it a several years ago, and quite enjoyed it. Unfortunately, I was not yet so very interested in steampunk then, but I do remember some lovely clockwork.

It isn't really steampunk, just some of the sets. I'm going to see it tonight. I own the book. It's excellent!

I saw it last year and I loved it. Certain sets were indeed very steampunky and quite a few of the costumes too. The stairs on either side of the stage were covered in wonderful clockwork. I recommend it.

Oh my goodness, it was wonderful. I highly recommend it. The sets were beautiful... though I would classify it more as "clock-punk" than steam punk. Most of the backgrounds were made up of clock faces, and great gears and cogs... The costumes consisted of colourful bowler hats, top hats, bustles, corsets... many of these decorated with little cogs. (We were sitting close enough to see that much!) One of the most amusing costume pieces for me was a hat that was a top hat from one perspective, and a bowler from the other.
Altogether highly enjoyable for those of the steam or clock punk persuasion.

I'm not surprised that she would say that, especially because of the dragon clock, but it's not steampunk, because everything is magic.
The Dragon clock rules.

I finished the book. "Instant classic" is not a phrase I throw around casually, but if ever a book deserved it, it's this one.
Beautiful.

Wicked... I saw it many years ago and loved it. I want to see it again. If there's a book of it, I need that. Or possibly just a published script of it.
