i actually have one friend on JV cheerleading, but thats bout it....

At our school, people say that cheerleading is just color guard with out the flags and that they are useless. Which i dont think is true but that is my opinion. But most cheerleaders stay away from guard and vice versa. But there are some cheerleaders that become guard members which is pretty cool

We don't work together, but we get along. I take cheernastics with a couple of cheerleaders, but that's completely seperate from guard.

Guard here thinks cheerleading is stupid, but not without benifits. Like being called a sport and getting scholarships! We know it's hard, but the cheerleaders act like what we do is easy. That's what pisses us off.

One of our guardies was in JV cheerleading before she switched over (come to the darkside...) Other than her though, cheerleaders and guardies don't get along at mah school. At all. We rejoiced (and still laugh about it) when one of the cheerleaders got hit in the face with a flag (the day before the homecoming dance) becasue she kept backing into teh colorguard's spin area during a pep rally.

We rejoiced (and still laugh about it) when one of the cheerleaders got hit in the face with a flag (the day before the homecoming dance) becasue she kept backing into teh colorguard's spin area during a pep rally. omg thats sooooo funny!!!!! yea at our skool the cheerleaders r basically the most stereotypical cheerleaders there can be :-/ and our colorguard is filled with the coolest ppl, so basically we kinda ignore each other except at the homecoming pep rally the cheerleaders were waving flags in the back and we were all like scream scream

sara and i did help them out at one point. one of the shiny purple poms got rolled up in their mats and we were like "WAIIIIIT! SHINY PURPLE THING SHINY PURPLE THING!" and sara went diving into the mat. XD
a varsity cheerleader im friends with has expressed interest. she was like "one day sasha, im going to visit you at practice and you are going to teach me how to twirl it. who knows? i could even end up on guard!"
i was like "........but youre a cheerleader."

hm...guard/cheer are on pretty good terms this year. we still do ignore each other at school and such, but now when we walk off the field after a footballgame show, they help us pick up flags and say 'good job, guard', and actually give us leeway so we can walk back inside and drop our flags.
Still, guard is really looked down upon here.

Eh, I don't know at my school.. We don't really hate each other.. But we're definitely not best buds either.. We're kind of somewhere in the middle.. But we don't really ignore each other, either... It's just kind of a shaky relationship.. We'll compliment each other, but we won't try to get any closer than that.

i cant complain though.....well i can. during band camp we had to share the gym with them....or rather we practiced, then they came in and we left and went into the cafeteria where the ceiling is too low to toss....

*feels slightly unloved* I was a dancer before the teams merged. I miss it so much, but I still enjoy colorguard. For some reason, the teams never really got along until all the negative people left and we merged. There is one girl (former guard) who I've been friends with since freshman year. I think she was the only one who I talked to out of that group. We can't really do that anymore.
Anyways, I miss dance, but at least I stuck with the team! Maybe next year can be more dance oriented (since this year was mostly flag).

mistressofthelost Maybe next year can be more dance oriented (since this year was mostly flag). we dont have any rifles/sabres, so we just have flags/swing flags, but we do these little dance routines that last around 24 counts but thats it. but our danses are always noticable... like this year the dance is kinda provocative...but i love it, only you need hips to do it right *cought3h_hanakosamacough*

my hips didnt come with an on switch. hers did though. XD
