Biography: Nikola was an expert at evading and blending into surroundings, ever since he was little, he was the offspring of russian vips unaware that Decoy Octopus inpersonated his father and inadvertingly got the father's wife. He later joined the KGB becoming the ultimate sleeper agent before joining General Golukavich's rogue army under the assumption that it was called Redbear, russian's version of Foxhound. He did many missions for them unaware this was making him the enemy of russia's government. He learned the truth on a mission to battle a pyro general, get a hind, get supplies and weapons, and blue prints unaware it was a russian government base. When he completed the mission at the cost of his face being disfigured by the pyro general's fire he was shocked by the revelation that he was working for the enemy and that all the things he was to acquire on the mission was for a rogue government group called Foxhound and that his true father Decoy Octopus was on it! He escaped Golukavich's men but by the time he healed up and was ready to go to foxhound to meet his father, foxhound was dead and he needed to leave russia. Nikola defects to the CIA and tries to learn more about the shadow moses incident.

The CIA selected him for Project Proteus,a project to help produce an ultimate covert agent able to disguise oneself at the molecular level. Nikola, out of all the other candidates, was the only success. He could mold his body to pass as anyone, the only side effect, the transformation is extremely painful but the good news is that it lasts two minutes. He became a top agent in the field and thus had his pick of groups he could be paired. He found out more and more about how his father was killed by foxdie and how it was the patriots who did it. He then heard of the revolver ocelot's revolution and taking over all the nanomachines disabling all the soldiers including himself.

Nikola worked hard to try to help but he was always a step behind in this battle and he had other assignments he was given to carry out. A year later he joined the Rat Patrol and has been with them ever since. He did this to learn more about what exactly went on during Ocelot's revolution of outer haven and because he felt it was an efficent group, the way it handled itself during that assignment.

"The Apathy" - Cobra Unit

At first this may seem in opposition with the name scheme of the rest of the unit. After all, apathy is the lack of emotion, and the names are the emotions that fit each member on the battlefield.

The Apathy is a person who feels uncomfortable in casual settings, feeling the entire range of emotions in higher levels than would be preferred. Anxiety and confusion create awkwardness in everyday settings that this person believes is a waste of time. However, when given an objective the Apathy's mind is clear. Situations can be assessed with pure logic (no fear of death or failure, no distracting excitement or stress), and actions can be taken without hesitation or regret. Because of this, The Apathy is a skilled agent in dangerous situations.


Pretty much what the SOP system does to soldiers now that I think about it. Though I wrote this before MGS4.

Biography:

"It is our conviction, our duty... our will that drives us. Think about it: God himself has failed, for all time, to take it away from us", said Karl's father at his son's sixteenth birthday party. Already a part of the Hitler Youth since the age of 7, Karl was conditioned, programmed, almost, to obey and to fulfill Adolf Hitler's dark dream of racial supremacy and the spreading of his dogma. The one thing about Karl, however, is that no one ever really told him straight what it was that Nazi Germany was aiming for. His mother, a kindly, gullible girl was insistent on raising her son as her father went off to fight the Blitzkrieg and the defence of the Fatherland. And, along with the furious propagand he witnessed every day, Karl would also get a great dose of his mother's love, calm demeanor, and her teachings of peace and equality... and it all culminated when, as a rite into the Officer Corps, Karl's father took him to an initiation party... and, coincidentally, the train they were on stopped at a concentration camp. Witnessing the horror, the carnage, the suffering, the pain, the sorrow and the desperation of the Jews and the many others kept at the concentration camps, Karl grew greatly dissillusioned, particularly as it became clear the Nazi empire was slowly crumbling under the other powers.
