Dia seems to like ME, even if I tell her things she doesn't want to hear. Maybe that's just a feather in my hat in trying to be tolerant and diplomatic. However, I've even thought that she's probably one of the most high maintenance people online I've ever met. She's constantly PMing me (it feels like tattling really) about every little drama online instead of dealing with it maturely on her own.
She has lost her temper several times over really insignificant things (well, in my opinion... I think most online dramas are kinda dumb), and she is always getting upset if people don't always talk to and respond to her in thread.
Now the latest thing - apparently last week (figures, the night I go out of town for a few days, right?) Zollo was bugged by Rybee about what color his cell phone would be. According to Zollo, that was over in a few minutes - until Dia came on and started calling Zollo all kinda of nasty for giving Rybee a hard time. Dia defends Rybee because he's 12 and supposedly has a tough time of things. But most other people are, in my experience, kinda annoyed by him (which is why I didn't invite him or ponies into the guild). Lae was backing Zollo, and next thing I know Dia is pissed at them both.
Normally I'd be like, fine - you can like and not like who you want. Just don't make war in my thread. But, this was in the thread.
Yesterday (I think) a new person came on the thread and Dia warned them against begging. Zollo then remarked how she begs for attention all the time. Zollo was right, though it was kinda flippant. And sure enough, it set Dia off and she wrote a whole tirade of nasty on the thread about him.
A mod came along and deleted it, and gave her a warning. In retaliation, she filed a false report against Zollo and a few others for cybering.
I don't think she means to be so bad, but whenever there's a problem, she does seem to get involved and escalates the situation. And the girl has a temper, and has been spoken to about it several times.
I've always held that this guild should be more a diplomacy than a dictatorship. So I'm interested in your opinions. You can vote above anonymously, and when it reaches 6 votes, the majority wins (mule doesn't vote). Feel free to debate and give opinions below if you want to. But I would like the resolved sooner than later.

To give further information on the situation, there is another guild member's profile, with her comments on it about the most recent situation where she tries to say (as I've seen before) that it's not her fault, and that someone else is starting it, yet again. Those comments can be read here: Dia's Comments On The Recent Issue With Zollo But I'm not part of a fan base. Xenites are an Army.

If it is OK I have something to say. I am sure it might cause a problem, but I feel it needs said anyway. I got quotes and saw parts of the convo myself (from 3rd party) and feel that Zollo was also out of line. I have said things to him about attacking Rybee before and I believe others have also had a problem with him. And the mod that got involved is a GOOD friend of Lae's. And right after Dia got her post deleted and Dia got a warning she was "randomly" gifted a Reve. Now I obviously do not know who sent it but it ALL seems rather suspicious to me. We all know that Dia can be high maintenance but several other members are also that way in my opinion. including hisself as my grandmother would say. I think the whole thing got blown way out. Including Zollos attack on another person in the thread through messenger. This "private" attack has caused this person to move on. And decide to "re-think" her position in the guild and leave the thread. So although I agree that Dia is VERY high maintenance (and she knows) I think the "situation" in whole the other night was WAY out of line on ALL accounts. Ok I think I gave my 2 cents worth

i have seen the same thing as well and have deflated it when im around i should probably help monitor them more. She is very difficult sometimes and when i was the mod and she was always messaging me it is very troublesome and she always is as mentioned above im submitting my vote

If I am wrong please excuse me but I really dont think Misty is trying to focus on the thread per se since she has been in many of the Guild sponsored events. But Diaici1010 herself. I think if you havent had any real contact with her, then it will probably be easier to ignore this poll.

Yeah, i have to agree with loquita, if you don't know the people involved - it'd be really hard to come to any kind of decision. Even knowing them it's hard to come to a decision.
looking at the comments bardic linked to... I have to agree with what pixel said. while what zollo said was true, it was a pretty obvious bait to raise her anger (which everyone knew was an issue by now) - but in the end, she did take that bait.
what amazes me is is everyone's so nice when i'm about... when the heck did zollo start playing that way? It's a subtle game... but it's not fair when you've got friends who are mods.
because everyone is usually nice to me, I kinda like everyone. So while I know some sort of decision needs to be made regarding this so it doesn't tear up the guild's public face, I don't want to make it personal... which is why I made it an anon vote.
so really, there's a third option... we do nothing. if you withhold your vote (or maybe i should just reset the poll and make that a checkable option?) we can just leave things be and try to monitor and observe more closely. Tell them all, if they have any grievances, PM a crew member with the page number so we can check it out.
Razzy - i'm talking about the Random Gifting Thread... but as loquita pointed out... it's more about the people... the thread and comments are just the evidence we have to go on. I really wish I knew the page numbers of that original argument over that cell phone thing... would be a LOT of pages to go back through. sweatdrop

I'm all for having the crew members step up to help avoid situations like this in the future, but that's only provided the crew member has the ability to do so without letting friendships get in the way.
I'm not pointing fingers (because I don't know about any other crew member's relationship with anyone else in the guild), but even Gaia has politics.

another valid concern... I know Lae wrestled with if to call on her mod friend or not. But, we can't have people paranoid that if they do something to upset the wrong person they'll get messed up seriously. This is supposed to be a happy friendly place about helping people, and there has been way too much fighting over this. On one hand it's good that it may make people take things seriously. But on the other hand.. well... calling favors and political crapola is also why i don't want to be the only decider here. I actually like everyone involved to various degrees... so i'm just laying it all out.

I haven't been in the thread recently but I know these kinds of situations can get out of hand if not reigned in. I am not familiar with any of those involved but from reading the posts that Misty put up I do believe the situation needs to be monitored. Maybe kind of put them on probation.
I know situations like this have happened before in the gifting thread. One was at Christmas which I was involved in while trying to help mod the thread when no other mods were there but it got to the point that I left the thread and refused to go back. It was probably not the right thing to do but at that time I was dealing with some tragedy in my personal life and couldn't deal with the person involved any longer.
I feel the guild or the thread for that matter needs some type of probationary thing to where they get a warning and if the behavior continues they risk being banned. Just my opinion.

Well, we can't actually STOP someone from posting on the public thread. I'm considering making an equivalent thread in the guild itself for guild only chatting for those who want the same kinda thing, but only folks who are in the guild.
I'm getting fed additional info that could only have come from a mod. I don't know which mod, and I don't know if it's the same mod. Without proof I'm hesitant to trust this into because any mod who is a personal friend of anyone may have conflicting interests, as is evidenced above. So I'm also wondering if I should get an alternative mod who has nothing to do with anything to see if any reports have been filed or not.
As for a probationary status.. the new thread does have a black list (permanent)... I can also expand that and make a grey list (temporary) section also...

I am going to agree with Angel on this. I think a straight out banning of anyone with out a warning might be a little hasty.
This way if anyone strays off course and receives a warning they have a chance to correct their behavior and and show that they really are committed to staying with the guild. Also, it doesn't feel so behind their backs this way...which sets better with me in the long run.

 I do like the probation/gray list idea.
I am familiar with the way Dia acts, as she PM'd me many times when I was Captain complaining about things that seemed petty to me.
Most of the time, I didn't do anything, and just told her that these things were going to happen and she wasn't entitled to like everybody, and she usually moved on.
What I do think we need is a very clear rule that flaming is absolutely NOT tolerated under any circumstances.
As this is specifically a guild/thread for friendship and generosity, that should be a given, but unfortunately it seems that we need to make it more clear.
