I don't read a lot of books about witches, so I'm not sure if it's a popular genre. But if you have any books to recommend or discuss, feel free to post here.
To start off: I've been reading the "Sweep" series, I'm only to, I think, book three. But it's a pretty interesting series. It started off kind of slow, but it seems to be getting better.

It isn't really about witches, but the Mercy Thompson series by Patrica Briggs I have found to be really good. It is about all things magical. It has vampires, werewolfs, witches, skin walkers, and fae. There is also the Alpha and Omega series that she does, which focuses more on the werewolves.
