Gaia has definitly changed quite a bit from when it started. So much so that it isn't what fell in love with. Which is leading me to one solution. As of today I am giving Gaia my 2 week notice. It has 2 weeks to impress me to stay if it can't, I'm gone. I will then be looking for a new place to hang out.

The thing I hate the most is that Bloodie cash shop! there hasn't been any good items in the regular shops since. The dedication of a member use to be determined on what items they had on their avitar and there were no Items over 1mil, and everything use to be pretty afordable, but now this cash shop pops up! New members have items that I worked damn hard for back in the day and now its just handed off to them. Thats what I hate about Gaia now.

I agree. But it's not a problem for me personally since I don't ever change my avi. But it frustrates me to think of what others have to go through to get what they want/quest for. At least they decided to give more gold to people actually posting and stuff, even though I'm sure it doesn't make up for the stupid one-sidedness of the cash shop. And I like that the aquariums are a good way to get gold, and a nice way for me to help others out without even doing anything but stocking my tank with fish.
My thread and guild is what keeps me here. My thread ranks up with my bf and my lizard (my baby) in terms of importance status in my life.

Yeah I've thought about quiting for the same reasons that others have said. And it seems like things move too fast in Gaia now-a-days.

Actually there has been several good items in the regular shop since it opened. I think the newer items is actually quite good. Of course, not everything is in my taste, or style, but it's a good thing they're trying to appeal to everyone. The only reason people notice the cash shop more is because it updates more often. However, the regular shop has gotten more items than the cash shop, just in bigger bundles with more time between releases. What annoys me the most is that the fish shop is taking only cash, and I very much dislike the sponsored shops. I never set my foot in there blah. That aside, yes, gaia has changed, and I liked it more before, but! I'm staying because of my friends here, not the site itself.

vicmoon the worst thing that could have happened would be if they didn't change anything. would you still be here if it was the same as when you joined Gaia? Probably not. I'd forget about the site as it would every so often have breakdowns, or weeks where the whole site would be down. That doesn't happen anymore. Glitches, sure, but nowadays these are nothing.

Jig, for guys its easy to forget your own birthday. Heck, I'd leave behind a trail of forgotten body parts if they weren't attached sometimes.

See this? I want it. I'm with Death on the Cash Shop issue. It isn't that the normal shops don't get any love, it's just that they get it in bigger bundles that come less often. In the last update didn't they get something like 3 full new sets of items? And you've got to figure there's at least 3 colours of each item per set, so there's quite a bit there.
As for the sponsored shops... I hate them too. They annoy me. But it's easy to get rid of them, just don't use them. Same with the promo items. If you don't like the thing being promoted, don't click the link and get the button! Gaia can track how many people have what items, and through that they can track how effective each type of promotion is. If you like Skittles, go do their promo! If you don't, then don't! Donations luffed.

I humble all I am all to You" My coworkers actually reminded me of my own birthday a week before it happened (my birthday? But thats in May! Oh, its already May?). I think its mostly that when you don't keep track of the date, then it sneaks up on people razz
