Description:

As soon as you get off of your stop you feel a strong gust of wind nearly blow you backwards. Though it's only a simple push at first, the more you walk towards the Kaze dojo the stronger it seems to become, almost forcing some to crawl into the Main dojo's of the building. The Kaze Dojo is setup like a wind farm, a flat field filled with numerous turbines where the largest one was the main building in itself.

There were essentially 3 floors for training to the simple structure, and a basement, where the power grid for the farm was, and any extra rooms, (kitchens, bathrooms, lab, etc) that the dojo might have.

The first floor is a large, matted area, with a few lights and standard ceiling fans. Moving up the spiral stairs, the second floor is a giant fan with a mesh iron grid over it, to prevent students from falling in and being ripped to pieces. Lastly, the 3rd floor is closed off. Upon opening it, one would notice a room, and 3 long tunnels. This room in itself is a combined wind tunnel, meant to test the Strongest of Kaze Students abilities, with 3 dials for modifying the wind speeds.

Iri has never been fond of things like trains and monorails. When one is naturally capable of flight, other modes of transportation simply seem unnecessary. And so, Iri is flying high above the monorail track leading to the Kaze Dojo. Somewhere along the way, she had stopped to pick up her precious naginata and the burlap sack full of her few belongings. She's glad those things didn't become lost or destroyed. They had been pretty close to the monorail track.

At first it seems odd to Iri that the dojos would be so spread out. As she approaches the new training center, though, things make a little more sense.

Oh, holy snipes! I think I can forgive Kaimen and that mono-eye guy now. Losing a newly restored dojo is just fine if this is what the Academy gets back!

Iri is at the end of the track now. She can feel the awesome winds coming off of the giant turbines. Grinning like a kid in a candy store, Iri makes a dive for a door in the largest of the turbines. Instead of fighting the wind, Iri positions her wings and body to be as streamline and aerodynamic as possible, taking a rare opportunity to show off her sky diving skills. The improved shape of her body and the downward angle in which she is traveling reduce the effects of the wind. Now it's just fun instead of strenuous.

At five feet above the ground and scarcely six feet from the door, Iri snaps her wings to her back and drops down into a crouching position. Even here the wind is powerful, but Iri has no problem getting to her feet, walking to the door, and allowing herself into the building. The avian is young and not very experienced, but Kaze is her element; the wind and air are in her blood, and she knows how to handle them.

Violet eyes stare out the door at the complex of towering wind turbines. She puts on a fresh grin. "This is my kind of place." Then she shuts the door and begins to snoop.

The first room doesn't strike Iri as much. Matted floors and simple ceiling fans. To Iri, it's reminiscent of some of the places in which she's practiced Martial Arts. It's not bad, just not interesting. The spiral staircase looks promising, though.

Iri walks up to the spiral staircase and takes a look up at the second floor. Aside from more steps, she can't see much more than a ceiling. She can, however, hear a very loud humming noise and a continuous rush of air. Looking down, Iri can see a floor and the glow of dim lights. Iri drops her burlap bag next to the staircase. She also sets down her naginata. Her two steel fans and Sage's kunai stay on her belt. The curious little bird that she is, Iri starts up the staircase. She'll check out the basement later.

The humming she had heard downstairs intensifies here. Iri's jaw drops in disbelief.

Oh, I'm gonna love this!

Unable to resist, Iri spreads her wings and jumps out over the giant floor fan and iron mesh. Her wings fill with air and Iri floats upward. When she gets too close to the ceiling, she just closes her wings to drop down again. And just for the hell of it, Iri repeats the process.

She can't suppress it: "Yee haw! Hahahah!"

Eventually, Iri finds a kind of "happy medium" position for her wings and more or less floats in place. Without having to worry about her wings, she starts having fun with slapping at the billowing cloth of her white hakama pants and running her fingers through her wildly flowing hair.

This room is immensely fun for Iri, but she also sees how it will come in handy for training. A Kaze student's dream dojo!

A small girl braves her way through the strong winds, following after the lady she just saw. Not much older than six, she stumbles through the grass, using her umbrella to pierce the air in front of her as she makes her way towards the largest windmill.

"Waaaaiiit!"

Iri, of course, can't hear a thing right now. She might not hear a bomb go off outside the dojo over the sound of the giant fan, let alone the voice of a small child.

After about ten minutes of playing with the giant fan, Iri decides it's time to move on. She uses her wings to move over to the staircase. Dropping down once she's out of the reach of the fan's wind, she heads back downstairs.

A horrid tangle of bright red hair gets Iri's attention. She makes a stop at her bag. The basement can wait a little longer. Iri would hate for anyone to see her in such a disheveled state. That and knotted hair is just irritating.

The girl trudges on, eventually coming up to the door. She leans against it and catches her breath before knocking as hard as she could and waiting. She looked around a bit at the field she just walked through before knocking again, this time using her umbrella to hit higher up on the door.

Still brushing her knee-length mane of hair, Iri looks up. Knocking? Curious again, Iri gives her head that odd little tilt. Giving a mental shrug, she walks to the door and eases it open. To her surprise, she nearly gets nailed in the face with what appears to be an umbrella. Iri dodges the thing the first time and grabs it the second. Then she looks down.

"Uh... Oh! Now who's this little dear?"

Iri has to shout a little over the sound of the wind, but her voice is still as sweet and kind as ever.

"I saw you fly through here a minute ago... People have been here lately, doing all sorts of weird stuff."

The girl pulls on her umbrella and looks up at Iri. Something seems a little off about the girl, but it's hard to place. She has a sweet smile and big purple 'puppy eyes'. Her light blue hair stops just past her jaw and she only stands about three feet tall, her voice matching her look very well. She wears an expensive-looking robe and has a scarf wrapped tightly around her neck.

"Were they building your house? Why do you live in a big 'ol windmill, Big Sis?"

Iri lets go of the umbrella when the girls tugs on it, but continues to look at her. She's never seen the girl around here before, but that doesn't mean anything. From her experiences, people come out of the woodwork of the GNA all the time.

And something does seem off about the girl. Nothing about her appearance, save the fact that a small child is wearing a very expensive looking garment. Smart people, unless they have money to blow on their children, just don't put expensive clothes on kids. And there's a couple other things. If she's just a child, what is she doing out in the middle of nowhere, in the territory of a ninja training facility, by herself? And she seems to speak very well for such an obviously young child.

The woman smiles after listening to the girl, her own purple eyes lighting up. Iri never wants to have kids of her own, but she does adore children. "Sorry, sweets, but this isn't my house. This place is like a special sort of school. Now, why don't you come inside so I can close the door? And what would your name be? My name's Iri!"

Iri steps aside and gestures for the cute little thing to come inside.

The girl steps inside, but snags her sandal on the doorframe and stumbles a little. She spreads her arms out and leans forward, stomping once and righting herself with a smug grin before turning around, arms still stretched out to her sides, and bows to Iri, grinning from ear-to-ear.

"Hehehe. My name is Syn. Nice to meet you, Big Sis!"

Syn sets her umbrella against the wall and looks around the building, pouting slightly.

"For being a school, there's not much here... I thought there would be lots of fun stuff inside, but there's nothing!"

Naturally protective of kids, Iri went to grab the girl by the scarf as she tripped, but held back when the girl righted herself. Probably thanks to their size, Iri forgets that little ones aren't always so fragile.

Iri grins at Syn. "Nice to meet you, too." On the inside, Seems as though I have a new nickname. She's too cute to complain to, though!

At Syn's proclamation, Iri also turns to look at the room. "Like I said, it's a special school. It gets more interesting from here. It's a place people use to learn how to do tricks with the air and the wind. Like this..."

Iri holds a hand over Syn's head. A small cyclone stirs up that tugs at the girl's clothes and plays with her hair.

"See?"

"Aaaahhh~!"

Syn grabs her head and ducks down for a second before looking up at Iri again and sticking her tongue out. Then, her eyes widen and she hands her mouth open in excitement.

"How'd you...? Can I do it too!?"

She stands back up and raises her hands up as far as she can as she inhales, then lets it all out with a 'whooosssh' as she holds her palms out to Iri and pushes the air with her arms. It's no surprise that nothing happens.
PostPosted: Fri May 15, 2009 10:21 pm

Iri can't help it. She starts to chuckle in good humor. "To start with, I didn't mean to scare you. I'm sorry, Syn, I should have warned you first."

Then she gives her head another birdlike tilt and directs her gaze to the ceiling. "I don't know, sweets. There are plenty of people around here that do tricks with the wind. In my family, it's something everybody can do. We're born with the skill. But I'm not sure as to how other people learn how to use the wind. Huh..."

That gets Iri to thinking. How do other people learn Kaze? It's innate for her, but how would she teach someone else? How do you teach someone to draw out their internal energy, whether they see it as chakra, chi, ki, mana, energy, etc., and use it to manipulate an element?

"Never thought about it like that before, I guess..."

Syn puts a finger to her chin in thought and keeps it there for a while. After a few seconds, she walks towards Iri and pushes her finger into Iri's stomach, her eyes fixated to the point she poked. Her eyes seem a little glazed over or darker than they were a second ago, too.

"It comes from there, doesn't it, Big Sis? I can see it glowing."
