So, you want to create a clan? Think you have what it takes to be a good clan leader? :3 Then post your application! However, please take note:

- You must have at least four members to be considered a clan. They must be at least four different owners, too (IE, you can't own all four members!).
- While RP is not strictly mandatory for clan leaders, if I don't see you posting in about two months, or something, your lands will be up for grabs to whoever wants to settle there (former members of the clan have first pick over whether they want to take over or not!)
- Character CAN die, if you want them to! It makes it more interesting, especially if the offspring take over the clan, or something. XD
- Chieftan and Cheiftess of a clan don't necessarily have to be mates. They can be brother and sister, or cousins, or whatever. <3 And you don't have to have both of them to be considered a clan -- sometimes just a Cheiftess can rule, sometimes just a Chieftan.
- Species generally ALWAYS branch off to be with their own species. For example, you will not find a yeeshu and a rishlan together in a clan! However, you CAN have a rishlan and a mountain rishlan together, and they can interbreed.
- Conflicts between clans are fun. XD Feel free to have them! Especially since all three of these creatures are predatory. wink
- Once you're approved by a mod, you're free to start setting up your territory! No more than five threads for the moment, please. biggrin

Ranks

Chieftan/Chieftess: The ruler of the clan. Sometimes a heriditary position, sometimes not. The strength and power of a chieftan/chieftess varies from clan to clan. Sometimes there are two together, sometimes only one.

Hunters: The hunters of the clan, they bring back food for the entire clan. They sometimes go out together in different forays -- in this case, usually the Hunt Master or Hunt Mistress will lead the group.

Youth: Young members of the clan, too young to have a position. :3 At this stage, they can be an apprentice to another, older member in the clan.

Healer: One of the few positions in the tribe that have magic, healers are extremely rare ... even rarer than shamans. They have the power to heal minor wounds and help heal major wounds, although at a terrible cost to their own energy.

Shaman: Another of the positions in the tribe that have magic, shamans generally advise the chieftan/chieftess -- a sort of 'majordomo,' as it were. But they also have the power to foretell the future through visions and fasts ... although they also sometimes predict it wrong, which can be dangerous to the entire clan.

Storyteller: The member of the clan that knows, perhaps, the most about the history of the clan -- and often is one of the major teachers to the children of the clan, trying to bring the children up with the same morals -- whether cruel or kind -- of the clan. They have a great influence on the offspring of the clan, and are not picked lightly.

Clan's Geography:
To the west of the Ivory Meadows runs a powerful, raging, river. They call the river Yahto, which means Blue River. Half-way down the length of the river is a large rock formation with a sparkling blue waterfall. Behind the waterfall lies hidden a large cavern with many small nitches and grooves. This is the home of the Tallulah, an all canine pack of wild animals. To reach their home they must leap rocks to reach the cavern's mouth; hence the name of their clan. In the winter, the cavern's pools of water freeze and crystalize into beautiful patterns and odd shapes. The light bounces off the ice and gives the entire cavern a blueish tint. The temperatures are moderate all year around; perfectly fine for the canine's heavy coats.

Clan's History:
Not so long ago, the worst snowstorm ever to have crossed the sky was overpowering the lands. The inhabitants had to scurry for cover and try to brave out the storm. Yet two creatures did not. Coming opposite points on the compass, these two weary travelers pushed their way through the strong winds. One, looking for a home he never knew but in his dreams, the other searching for a fine meal and land to hunt.

Aslan was an adolescent Ahtun with the power of site. He had grown up in a far place, but he did not call it home. Every night his dreams were of sparkling blue walls and the constant sound of rushing water. He knew this place was important and he was meant to go there. So when he was of age, he left the only world he had ever known and began his trek east.

Clare was an adult Ahtun with a taste for the hunt. She came from a lush paradise known for it's vast amounts of game. She grew up alone, since her people abandoned their young to fend for themselves. Then one day, a powerful force struck the land and turned the green grass to sand, the lush forests to ash, and the cool winds to harsh arid gales. With all the game gone or dead, Clare was forced to leave her lands. Her heart told her to head west, and so she did.

As it is told, Aslan walked miles through the snow, forcing himself to keep going in search of the place of his dreams. He kept this up for hours until, at last, he collapsed onto the soft, fresh-snow covered ground. There he lay until Clare found him. Clare would have missed him if fate had not parted the skies at the exact moment when she glanced his way. Being bigger than the smaller creature, she lifted him off the ground and continued on the hunt.

As she reached a raging river, he begun to stir. Clare placed him on the ground as his eyes opened. "I know that sound..." he said as he got up. They both looked up the river to see the beautiful waterfall that was dominating the sound of the forest. As if their gaze penetrated it's life force, the waterfall opened briefly before them, showing a sparkling blue cavern. Racing like there was no tomorrow, Aslan ran to the waterfall. Clare, not fully understanding, chased after him.

He lept from stone to stone across the river until he was close enough to it's mouth to jump inside. He disappeared from Clare's vision. Weary of danger, Clare looked around the waterfall before approaching it. She found an entrance to the cave just beside the waterfall. You had to leap the stones on the raging river to actually be able to see the entrance. Leaping after Aslan, she entered the cavern.

Inside, she found him just sitting there on his hindquarters. "I am home..." she heard him whisper.

Clare stayed with Aslan and begun a family which, after a few generations, grew to become the Tallulah clan.

Clan's Ruling (IE, how does everything work? How are it's different members picked? What is their philosophy on life?):
Tallulah is an Ahtun clan. In this clan, everyone has a say as to what is going on and what they are to do in situations. The chief is chosen based on his or her ability to sway the crowd to their perspective. Once a decision has been reached, each and every member must comply with the majority ruling, even if they had been opposed to it in the first place, they must do what was decided upon. If they do not, they are kicked out of the clan. New members are chosen if their phsyical and/or mental capabilities can enhance aspects of the clan. These Ahtun try to live normal, peaceful lives. They are neither good nor evil, but neutral. They live with the land, not on it, nor do they dominate it.

Youth: Lemiir (Owned by ..Ivycurse..)

Shaman: Rigal (Owned by Jinxeh)

(More members still pending)

Clan's Geography: Far off the Cliffs of Tehnari Clifs high in the sky live a clan of secluded Ahtun. These Ahtun are unlike any others because they can fly. Their Territory is only accessible from taking flight from the edge of the Tehnari Cliffs. Their shelter is situated onntop the clouds, sustained by the magic of the clans Shaman it just looks like a cave made from clouds. Their Territory is called the Cave of Clouds (very original neh? wink ) They are often seen flying from their cloud to the ground to gather food or to socialize with the other clans.

Clan's History: Long ago a young Ahtun was blessed with wings of angels. He flew into the sky where he could watcxh below the goings on of the other Ahtun dogs, he tried to help as often as he could but he could not do this alone, He realised he must get help. So he asked the Gods to give him the power to bless some other selected dogs to help him in his tasks. He made his selection and gave each one different attributes and powers. These are the dogs you see here. The Angel winged Ahtun has long since departed this world but there have been rumors of a sister of his around.

Clan's Ruling (IE, how does everything work? How are it's different members picked? What is their philosophy on life?): The Winged Ahtun of the Ailes clan often Vote together on decisions but the Chieftan usually has the final word. They usually always accept dogs that are blessed with wings and have a significant amount of knowledge to them. The dogs they enitiate into the clan must also be willing to help others. This is the main reason for the Winged Ahtun clan. They are like watchers. The Winged Ahtun beleive that there is always good in someone and always try to find it. All winged Ahtun are welcome to enter the clan though there is a few questions that the Chieftan wil ask and a small enitiation ceremony.

Clan Name: Shuensha (means "star")
Clan Symbol: |*|

Chieftan: Xuuya
Cheiftess: ?? (Saffeh's planned female Yeeshu--will either fill this role or that of our Healer)
Hunters: Tres, Stryker (there's more to heem than meets the eye though...) ninja , Lu and Zene.
Youth: Celeste & Flame, Kaze
Healer: Depends on how Saffeh decides to fit her female in.
Shaman: None. Yet. ninja
Storyteller: To be filled.

Clan's Geography:

A ways north of the Mountain Pass, there's dense forest (referred to, at least by the Shuensha, as the Forest of Twilight) that spread for miles in each direction, and that host a plethora of prey creatures, both on teh ground and amongst the gnarled branches of the massive racia. However, in the very heart of this forest lies a relatively small clearing, almost inaccessible by those who cannot fly, or who don't know the way through the gnarled, spiny underbrush that stretches between the massive trees that surround it. It is here that the Shuensha clan makes their home, among the branches of the racia trees. They have named the clearing (and its surrounding trees) Mekkin, and refer to it almost as we would refer to a town name. It suits their needs perfectly--since the clearing is virtually inaccessible by any not within the clan, it's a safe place for the hatchlings to play and learn valuable skills that they'll need to fulfill their adult roles within the clan, as well as for nesting females to give birth to and raise their young.

It also serves to meet their nutritional needs quite well, being, as it so happens, tucked into a forest that's quite bountiful, at least concerning prey. It's said that another reason the clan had for choosing this particular area to settle in is that there wasn't much competition from other predators. Bubbling through the northernmost corner of the clearing and then a small distance through the brambles before forming a small pool just outside of the clan roost's borders is a small brook, one whose source lies deep beneath the ground--deep enough, in fact, that it never freezes, not even in the winter. Obviously, for the Shuensha, this represents another advantage to their position, since most of the animals that live anywhere near their lands must venture to the pool for water, since it's a relatively precious commodity that deep in the forest.

Clan's History:

According to the clan's last storyteller, although the position now lies vacant, the Shuensha clan was formed as an alliance between a group of five individual, clanless Yeeshu who had banded together in an attempt to better protect themselves against other yeeshu clans who inhabited the selfsame cliffs (hence the clan name--5 starting members, like the 5 points of a star). Unlike many of the other, longer-standing yeeshu clans that existed at the time, the Shuensha were often willing to welcome new members, since they were so small, and so newly joined. Also, since the clan had only recently been formed from individuals who had simply banded together, they rarely, if ever, had a clan healer or shaman, the bulk of their members being relatively aggressive and warlike, as well as being skilled hunters. The cliffs directly overlooked the ocean, and game was plentiful, even with so many yeeshu occupying the area.

Of course, as with most things in nature, the amount of game varies from year to year, and even from generation to generation. Generations after the Shuensha clan had first been formed, there came a time when game suddenly became scarce. Some said it was the colder-than normal winters that crippled the land and made even the sea colder than usual--prompting even the fish to remain in deeper waters. Regardless of the cause, the larger clans, in an attempt to secure a future for their own kind, began driving off the smaller clans that roosted amongst the cliffside caverns. It was at this time that the Shuensha chieftain and chieftess of that time decided that the time had come for their small clan to make their way to new territory, before they lost even a few of their small population in the scuffling that was taking place.

At this point in the history, even the storytellers become vague, mentioning only that the clan spent a very long time trying to find a suitable territory, and lost many of the elder, as well as very young, members of the clan on the way. However, when the weary group came upon the gigantic forest in which they eventually made their home, it was late evening, and it is said that they all felt an instantaneous connection--this was where their new home would be. That being the case, they promptly named it the Forest of Twilight, since their first sight of the forest, bathed as it was in the glow of the moon and the stars, was the one that was forever burned into their memories. It took a few more weeks for the clan to find the actual site at which they would roost, and it was not a decision they made lightly. In keeping with their forefathers, they looked for a well-protected area, in which the young could be guarded without undue effort, as well as an area in which both water and food were accessible...quite a tall order to fill.

However, the clan persevered, and after what seemed to most like a tree-to-tree search, Mekkin was discovered, and the extremely small clan moved in immediately, intensely relieved that, at last, their long journey was over. Because the clan has always been so geared towards survival, from the very day it was founded, there remains a huge emphasis on being skilled in battle and hunting, even though the Shuensha have had generations of peace behind them, at this point.

Clan's Ruling (IE, how does everything work? How are it's different members picked? What is their philosophy on life?):

The Shuensha have always based one's position in the clan on one's performance, as opposed to who one's parents were...and as such, there have been times where a chieftain or chieftess have been removed, sometimes forcefully, from power because the rest of the clan felt that there was someone else who was better qualified for the job...however, this hasn't happened often, especially not in recent years.

The Shuensha, as a clan, place great value on strength--not just physical, but mental as well. There's no one more respected than a clan member who has proven time and again that they're not just physically strong, but who have demonstrated an ability to think quickly under pressure, or who have shown an ability to organize highly complex hunting strategies. Bravery, while valued, is seen as being foolish when it's used as an excuse to do something that puts oneself at risk where it isn't necessary. However, their somewhat survivalist outlook also rewards those who are canny--it may sound sneaky, but a yeeshu with a crafty mind may also be very highly respected by other members of the clan, although when that kind of mindset crosses into manipulativeness, most clan members feel that it's been taken too far.

Their philosophy, succinctly put, would be "You only live once, so protect it as fiercely as you're able."

Members:

Xuuya (Mystic Moogle) -- Chieftain -- He's a bit of a tricky sort. He's quick witted and can easily talk his way out a bad situation, if one happens to arise. He likes to use words to fight as a first line of attack, but he fights occasionally, if his enemy seems to want to bite his head off rather than talk. X3

?? (Safaia) -- Possible Chieftess or Healer -- She's older, reserved, yet haunted. She's more of a leader-y type, if You haven't found one yet. Then we can make Zirk her little brother, or child, or only surviving relative, or something...so as Wintah was talking about earlier, he's stuck in the clan making everyone's life miserable. XDD

Stryker (Vashtya) -- Hunter/Warrior -- Is a loner, and quite maladjusted and antisocial at that. He's very predatorial in his view of the world, and so can seem quite cruel. Why he joined up with the Shuensha is anyone's guess--he just kind've showed up one day, looking somewhat the worse for wear, and when asked if he were interested in joining the clan, he shrugged and muttered something about how he may as well give it a try. He also doesn't respect very many beings, but if he ever did give his trust and respect to someone, it's likely that it'd be for life :3.

Tres (~Solarcrest~) -- Hunter/Warrior -- is spirited and loves a good time. He can be deadly when needed or goofy. so idea position is hunter/assassin or defender..caus ecombined with the power of his trigrams on his boyd..he has many abilities.

Lu (Kamileun) -- Hunter/Warrior -- Lu is generally friendly, and loves to sing, and swim. He's fairly care free, occasionally to the point that he might seem a bit arrogant(not taking much heed about dangerous and/or serious situations). Nonetheless, he's easy to befriend, and hard to anger.

Zene (Ani Kawashima) -- Hunter/Warrior -- Rather cool, calm, quite stubborn, slow to piss off, but scary when she is XD. Snaps easily, and doesn't back down when she thinks she's right.

Celeste (Teckno) -- Youth -- Celeste is quite calm and serene, she never rushes but never dawdles in whatever she is doing. She is always level headed and tries to get along with anyone. She loves the night. As for her powers I don't know much about that yet, we'll see what happens when she grows up

Flame (Teckno) -- Youth -- Flame is the opposite of his sister. He is always moving he rarely stops, he talks so fast he gets his words mixed up and when he does he gets very embarrased. He gets quite annoying sometimes because he always seems to be hangin qround when you don't want him to. He loves the day time and is scared of the night, though he wont admit it. As for powers he is the same as his sister not know as of yet.

Kaze (Vashtya) -- Youth -- Outgoing and friendly, Kaze's most known for her ability to spin a tale at the drop of the hat--usually to get herself out've a sticky situation. However, she also has an amazing memory, and can remember things that she's seen, or that were said to her, even if she only heard/has seen them once...and can even recall them months after the fact. However, she is still a child, and as such, spends more time playing with whomever is available than she does memorizing details in her surroundings
