If there was already a thread before this, I may have missed it entirely. But I just watched the film online and it was not that big of a surprise; Original... yes;Totally thrilling or life changing...no. If this is a spoiler for some, sorry.
Big giant monster comes out of nowhere and happens to have the ability of asexually reproduce by what seems to be budding((quite amazing if you ask me, this is not your typical Godzilla;that and it was not overly jaded)). Then you have a single person walking around with a camera, recording all that is occurring as he just happens to be in the center of the drama... glad he did not have a mental breakdown(maybe he did, which probably led him to his ultimate demise). This film sort of gives us a chance to look into the complexity or simplicity of human nature. And above all how we act under attack or when our very lives are threatened. Yes, we are unable to keep the cool given the circumstances of vicious creatures rampaging our streets and going for our chests. But it is because we are very much accustomed to having perfectly ordinary lives where everything is in perfectly dysfunctional order.
It is not creatures from outerspace or even our own planet we should fear; It is our inability to fear ourselves we should be most frightened of. People are not civilized...they are just animals that have been properly trained to behave appropriately; Nothing wrong in that...only that we live lives that can be so easily shattered. Anyway... film ends as predicted; protagonists are crushed, cameraman dies thanks to his own idiocy and it all goes blank.
I give it a 6.5 for effort.

I thought this movie was crap. Gives me a headache. stare Maybe if I walked around during a severe earthquake, I'd get something similar. I watched the first 10 minutes and left.
