The mountain pass is almost amusingly named -- for it is hardly a pass. While most of these lands are covered in a healthy layer of snow the year round, this area is so rock-infested and covered that it has created a very treacherous terrain. That, and the fact that it's so rarely traveled that there IS no easy path ... not at first sight, anyways.
The pass is a long, narrow cleft -- with rocky sides, not really sheer cliffs, but with so many rocks jutting out at random areas that they look almost impossible to climb. There are rocks and boulders in the path, making it, at times, seemingly impossible to get across. There are several caverns further up the snow-covered mountainsides to the east and west.
To the south lay the unclaimed lands -- to the north, who knows what lies?

Standing upon a single boulder, a couple of Rishlan looked outwards towards the land. The red one kept a serious look upon his maw as he surveyed everything he could carefully. A single eye's vision clouded out, he had to force the other eye to do twice the work.
The other Rishlan on the other hand, seemed to bounce about, jumping from the boulder down to a rather jagged rock, and back up to the boulder. Smaller in stature, and much friendlier looking to any hidden viewers, she whined "Come on Scarlet... can't we do something exciting?" Her hair and the furs she wore lightly danced with each trip she made from the rock and the boulder. She waited for an answer, though her body continued to burn the energy she had built up.
His voice low, he said "No Rikku! We need to observe this land, make sure we are familiar with everything surrouding us. You will have plenty of time to do the exciting, but for now, we need to make sure we know what is going on." Turning to look at his companion as she bounded from stone to stone, he rolled his single crimson eye.

(xD;; I rp wolves a lot so don't mind if I throw in some words that may be confuzzling to some...^__^;; My rping will keel everyone with horribleness @.@)
A female Rishlan padded slowly along the pass, auds perked up. The young fae was dubbed Silk, which quite suited her. She was ivorn in hue, yet ebony striped her soft pelt. A faint black and white marking of a ying and yan was printed on her back thigh. Head tilted, Silk peered around with sapphire hued opticals, a soft breeze causing the two crimson feathers on her head to flutter slightly. With a small murmur, she sat down on a low boulder, tail swaying to and fro' for a moment before curling around her torso. Silk closed her eyes for a moment, ears flickering slightly.
Silk was quite a shy Rishlan at times. She warms up quite quickly, and has a serene personality. At times she can be harsh and rude, yet most of the time you'll find her quite silent and calm. A split personality I guess you could say. She's one of those types who worry about everything, but usually keep their mouth shut.

A faint scent trickled into the red Rishlan's norstrils. His ears perking up and his sights soon changing direction, Scarlet simply uttered "Someone else is here..." His single eye once more scanned the terrain, finding nothing but a mix of rocks and boulders, all colored in various hues of grey. Narrowing his eyes to get a slightly more focused view, his head slowly moved across the land in front of him once more. A faint pale figure with a bit of black upon her fur was soon spotted.
"My, my! You go ahead and sit tight and 'get familiar' with the land then... I'm gonna go 'get familiar' with the locals!" That said, the Rishlan with different furs covering her own bounded from rock to rock, carefully, yet full of skill, down towards this "newcomer."

An Ahtun suddenly appears in the midst of the Rishlans, observing the other species with a careful eye. Wra didn't trust anyone since he became a ghost. His transparent body stood bare in the cold, but he did not flinch. He just watched.

The fae's eyelids flickered as they opened slowly. The sounds of voice flowed towards her auds. Silk tensed up, sapphire eyes drifting from boulder to boulder nervously. Head tilted, she gently leapt off the boulder that she perched on. Silk turned her head to peer over her shoulder, yet no one was there. With a small sigh, she started to retreat back to her boulder. A small movement above her caught her eye. Glancing up, a small smile spread across her maw. As the colorful Rishlan made her way down to her, she lowered herself to the ground, relaxing, her eyes softening. Tail swayed slightly in greeting.

An Athlun appears on the rocky path. He sighs "now I can be alone"
He climbs up the jakky ridges and wonders around to discover a cave.
He walks inside. The light in the cave shone dimly, but that isn't a problem. He can see that the cave is quite large. Large enough to make it a permanent
home for himself. The ground wasn't so rocky, he can lay down and sleep in some area.
Tired from galloping so far into the mountain path, he decides to lay down for a while. He finds himself a smooth spot and goes into a deepsleep.

Perched atop a particularly nasty-looking boulder, the black-and-red Yeeshu known as Stryker looked out over the pass, preening idly at his wingfeathers even as his sharp eyes scanned the surrounding landscape. Getting to his feet gracefully, he took flight, weaving his way around the rocks with great familiarity until he reached a small cavern, almost hidden from view by numerous rocks and boulders of varying size and shape.
Dipping his head, Stryker wriggled through, emitting a low caw of delight as he noted that nothing had been disturbed. Stalking farther into the cavern, he crawled into a small niche and curled up, closing his eyes and fluffing his feathers a bit before falling asleep.
((gotta go, so I'm not gonna have him interact with anyone else yet, although that was my plan when I started typing this out ^^; ))

With her tail wagging nearly like that of a dog, the Rishlan smiled widely and greeted this pale visitor. "Hey! My name is Rikku! What's yours?" Her green swirled eyes seemed to shine lightly, almost as if the new company was bringing a whole new life to them.
"For being a fighter, she certainly is naive..." Scarlet scoffed. A faint breeze seemed to pick up, for the feathers adorning him fluttered gently from side to side. However, his stance remained as solid and structured as before, almost as if it had been carved out of a strange red stone. Keeping his single eye carefully upon his companion, he waited.

Silk smiled and slowly stood up. "My name is Silk..." she murmured, dipping her head slightly. "Tis' a pleasure to meet you Rikku!" Rikku seemed quite friendly, so she slowly padded over. Ears pricked once again, as if she sensed some else was near, but she quickly shook it off. Head tilted, she looked at Rikku. "What brings you to these mountians?" she asks, sapphire eyes filled with curiousity.

Grinning some more, she bounded from one stone to another in a playful gesture. "Training and Scarlet!" was all the Rishlun offered, not fully explaining nor hinting at a true meaning. Pausing for a moment, she turned to Silk and winked "You up here for the same reasons, or for your own?"

The fae smiled. "Mm...for my own I guess..." she murmured. "Just decided to check around here..." she continued. She glanced at the playful Rishlan and grinned. So Rikku was on the mountians to train and...Scarlet? Confusion was in her eyes. "Scarlet?" she asked outloud, blinking. What was Scarlet? Or who was Scarlet?

"Yeah! Scarlet!" she exclaimed, pointing a paw towards a small red form with lines of black scattered upon his form. "He insisted that we come here, don't know why, but he said we could train here."
Quite observant to the fact he had been pointed out, despite the fact he couldn't hear what they were saying, his eyes narrowed slightly. Flattening his ears a bit towards his skull, he muttered bitterly "Why must she point me out? There was no reason at all to do that!" However, his stance still remained unchanged, minus the few adjustments.

Head tilted, the silver Rishlan's gaze drifted towards boulders. The red of Scarlet's pelt was quite visible against the gray. With a small smile, she raised a paw in greeting. Turning back to Rikku, she nodded. "The mountian is quite a good place to train...dangerous as well..." she murmured, pointing to some jagged rocks and the long drops. "You must be careful around here..." She eyed Scarlet with the corner of her eye, and laughed slightly. "Are you two related?" Silk asked. "Or are you companions?"

Offering no greeting to the pale Rishlan, his single crimson eye kept a careful eye upon the two.
"Tha rocks aren't that bad... then again, I have padding!" she shouted with glee, raising one of her gloved paws. "And I dunno... Guess you could call him more of a companion, since we weren't born together, just happened to meet." Hushing herself a bit, she giggled and neared Silk's ear, whispering "And if you ever call us lovers, I think he would kill you!"
