Quill ran a paw through his blonde mane in frustration. How long did it take for one dragon to catch a friggin' deer? It wasn't like it was a hard thing to do. The forest was crawling with them! Vivie had left hours ago to find food for herself and her adoptive son, but she had yet to return and he was getting pissy.
Well, pissier.
His eyes scanned the ground from his position of complete relaxation. Stretched out next to the river bed with his tail submerged in the cooling water, the dragon openly sighed and grumbled, huffing with every moment or so with extreme agitation. He wasn't chubby by any means, though he was the laziest son of a b***h in the woods. When he decided to do something, he performed the task well and his coat shined with complete health as a benefit.
Light blue sparkled in the glorious sunlight of another beautiful day, though he was too blinde to notice this. "Well, hell, Vivie." Grumbling, he stood up and shook out the traces of water on his fur before traipsing lethargically into the surrounding woods. He'd find her and when he did, he was going to give her hell.

The beautiful female was going fast enough that she was practically one with the forest. Her bright orange mane was the only thing that set her apart from the trees, the clouds and stars dotting her pelt seeming to be nothing more than glimmers of the sunset poking through the treetops. However, her excursion came to an abrupt halt when a surprisingly large -albeit stagnant- pool of water came into sight. She backpedaled as fast as she possibly could, but despite that, her footing gave way and she splashed into the water, gasping for air before her head went under.
For a moment, the water was silent, the rippled on the surface merging with her markings and making the sun appear to simply be bouncing off the water, creating a beautiful affect. That was until Anina's head suddenly burst forth, the young female gasping for air and shaking her head, laughing softly to herself. "Last time I go swimming so unexpectedly," she giggled, though she didn't make any real move to get out of the water for the time being. Instead, she swam about, splashing at things, somehow making her little ruckus seem almost... serene.
Finally, she finished with her little 'bath' and pulled herself up and out of the water, mane sticking to her face and sides, making her giggle in amusement. She licked at her paw softly a moment, before shaking herself dry and streeetching her body as long as it wanted to go, pawing at the ground with her small claws. Finally, grey-blue eyes settled upon the pale blue hide of a male she'd only met once before, and her face brightened immediately. "H'llo there, Quill! See you haven't found m'mate yet either, have ya?"

Quill had reached the pond in record time. To his standards, of course. With his ears pressed back against his head, his tail swaying dangerously behind him he presented the very picture of a man out for blood. He was hungry, damnit and he wanted his food now.
When he reached the water's edge, Anina was already splashing around. He'd never thought much about her after their brief encounter because he'd been too stupid. If he was a smarter male, he would have seen that she was becoming quite a hot piece of tail. Those markings of hers made her look like a vixen from the sky in all the feminine ways he'd love to tap.
The male didn't find anything beautiful. A dragon could only be one of two things in life. You were either hot, or not. Everything hot he liked to make his own and the nots...well, they were better off staying in their caves with their little homely mates. His blue eyes brightened up a tad with false happiness as he started the slow trot to Anina's side. "Nope, not me. Seems like the search just keeps getting longer. " He laughed, shaking his head gingerly. "I'm not too concerned about it, though. Maybe some people just aren't meant to have mates. A pretty little thing like you surely must have someone to call you their own."

Anina laughed happily, a nice echoing and chiming sound that well-matched her surroundings, as she altered her choice of direction to be following beside Quill. The smile stayed on her face even after she stopped laughing, shaking her head. "You're really a forgetful one, aren't cha?" she asked sweetly, though not in a patronizing way. She had no reason to be mad at Quill or act haughty around him. Despite loving her mate, she definitely enjoyed being around Quill as well; after all, his colouration matched her's amazingly well! It was amusing, dawn and sunset and everything.
"Zazzy's been my mate for nearly a month now, r'member?" she said, nodding smoothly, smiling softly at the thought of her rather plain coloured mate. "Good friend'a your's and all, I thought you would remember that!" Anina smiled and playfully nudged at Quill's side with her snout, lingering on the touch longer than she needed to. "Y'haven't seen him 'round anywhere, have you?" she questioned, ears flicking back against her head. Now that she'd found Quill, she was slightly less enthused about finding her mate; he was good enough company.
"That aside, where are you headed, so focused lookin'?" Another question, her tail flicking gently behind her as it grazed the very tips of the grass. She could help him find whatever he was looking for, couldn't she? After all, she could certainly sense abnormalities in the forest!
