"The Guide"
Alright, so you want to be a Mechanical Child. Or, you're already one of Us but you're looking for a little....upgrade. Either or, this is the topic for you to check out. I went through the list of items Gaia has to offer and made a list of items that could be used in your 'upgrades'. Of course you can use any item, because personal combinations found through experimenting with layering can tend to be favorites. This list is just to give you a few ideas. Having at least one or two of these items can really boost your look!
;The key to starting out an outfit is, of course, your theme. What are you going to be? Are you a robot, a cyborg, or an android? The definitions can be seen here in the Directory. Depending on your answer, the items best suited for you will change. If you were an android, would you wear the Robot Mask? Most likely not, but the Android Damage Prosthetics would be much more in your league. This is where you should pick out your Mechanical Child staples -- aka, the items that define you mechanically.
;The next step is to elaborate on your theme. What style do you have? Does your style reflect your occupation or does it contradict it? A robot who sorts out the Aekean mailbot could either stick with the uniform or go all out and insist on wearing high heels and a feather boa. This is where you should start figuring out the color scheme and style of your non mechanical items, and how to incorporate them with your staples.
;The last step is to mess around with layering! Go through the shops and preview items as you construct your outfits. As a warning, feel free to use www.tektek.org as a guideline, but do not rely on the layering system. The site is amazing to work and experiment with textures of items, but the layering is not the same as Gaia's so it is always best to double-check layering by using the marketplace or the shop previews before you buy an item.

Each item is linked to their space in the marketplace. You can also go to www.tektek.org to get a better look at the item if you would prefer. You'll find that some of the items have stars after them -- those with a * are items that are also available in gold and bronze. Those with ** are those that are available in multiple colors, although the variety may vary.
