"Hah! That was too easy." Heiji beamed to Conan. the Osakan police were already cleaning everything up after solving the case, of course, with the help of Heiji and Conan.
"Oh? You looked annoyed earlier when things weren't going your way, Heiji." If Conan hadn't of nudged Heiji in the right direction, he would have come out with a completely different deduction.
"Ahoh!" Heiji fumed before crossing his arms and looking away. It was true, he hadn't even thought it through from all angles this time. He had just jumped the gun, but... that didn't mean he could be outdone by him, it didn't mean he was terrible at his job, right?
Conan smirked to himself before his eyes drifted to a small struggle that had built up in the mob of police. "Eh?"
"Y-You did this! YOU b*****d! He's innocent! I swear it! My Hachi would never! NEVER!" The man was crazed, and though the police tried to stop her she pulled out a gun and fired wildly. after a few shots, though, she was on the ground being held down by several officers. "NO! Stop this! He didn't!"
Heiji had jumped at the scene and moved out of the way of the woman's wild shooting, thankful that he hadn't been hit by any of the bullet. "What a nut bag, huh, Kudo?" He chuckled before looking back down at his little friend. "Uh... Kudo...?"
Conan blinked a few times, staring out into the crowd in a bit of a daze before looking down at his belly. His mouth watered as he gaped a few times, clutching the bloody shirt before the lights in his eyes left him. This wasn't a normal gun wound. Something else was there making him tired. Everything spun as he stumbled back.
Heiji was there in an instant, calling to his fallen friend over and over again, trying desperately to get him to snap back as paramedics surrounded them. It was the last thing he could see or remember before the darkness swallowed his numbing body.

The constant dull 'beep' echoed in the young boys ear as he stirred. Everything was still dark at first as his eyes wandered until he finally relived that his eyes were closed. It took more than he had expected to open them before he took a deep breath, looking around the white washed room curiously. Where was he again? This wasn't home... this was... a hospital?
There was something warm on his leg too. He blinked and looked tiredly over to the tanned boy fast asleep on the edge of the bed before looking out the window. It was night time then. So everyone would be asleep. He groaned softly, then pulled himself up a bit to sit only to receive a sharp pain in his stomach. He winced and whimpered softly before covering it with his hand instinctively. "Ah-!"
All of the movement had caused the Osakan to stir himself. He blinked a few times, then sat up, wiping the drool from his mouth before stretching. He'd been here for several weeks, wandering in and out constantly, hoping for good news of Conan's condition. It came as a sudden shock to him to see the kid awake. "K-Kudo...!"
Conan stared at Heiji a bit confused at first, only growing more confused as the man smothered him in a hug. "O-Oi! Don't suffocate me! H-Heiji!"
"Sorry! Sorry!" Heiji backed off, a weak grin on his face.
Conan sighed before looking around the room again. His eyes caught the only other colorful thing n the room that wasn't Heiji. A vase full of Tulips; a mix of red and yellow tulips. A soft blush covered his cheeks before he looked around. "How long was I out for?"
Heiji's eyes followed Conan's to the vase before snapping away quickly, a bit nervous. Maybe they were a bad idea. "Ah... three weeks as of today."
"Th-three!?" Conan shook his head, trying to think through all of this. "since you're here I must still be in Osaka. Did Ran and Uncle visit too?"
"Y-Yeah, they did, but they had to leave a few days ago." Heiji said before grinning at Conan. "Ran couldn't stop staring at you."
Conan's face lit up with blush at the thought before quickly looking away. "Then she left those... flowers... too?"
Heiji was about to respond carelessly, but quickly changed his mind. Kudo must have know their meaning, then. Perhaps it was best not to tell him the truth? He sighed, lowering his head a bit as he scratched behind his head. "Y-Yeah. She did."
"Eh?" Conan blinked, staring at Heiji for a long moment in a bit of confusion. Why was he so upset about that? Unless... It felt as if a brick had hit Conan dead on. Tulips were mainly relationship based in meaning. The reds and yellows to be specific were... 'Declaration' and hopelessly in love.' It... It couldn't be. "I... I see. You look tired, so go get some rest..." He muttered before pulling the sheets p over his body. Not his mind had been tainted with even the thought of Heiji... loving him. didn't he love Kazuha? And women? Especially Kazuha and other women in bikinis?
"Ah... right..." Heiji muttered before getting up from his seat, an obvious blush covering his cheeks. "I'll tell the doctor your awake then..." And without another word spoken he was gone.
"Heiji..." Conan was left alone, feeling very confused and perplexed. Did Heiji really... have feelings for him? But he wasn't a homo. He had too much pride to do something like that!
He sighed and relaxed, closing his eyes as he awaited the arrival of his doctor.
