I was wondering what the best form of advertising for a guild would be.

Signatures are the most common form, and if you are out in the forums a lot posting it will get noticed. I've seen a few folks that have a flob that advertises their guild as well. Those are the two bigger ways that I know of, other than the usual random invites.

Personal invitations. And I mean make them personal.

NOTE:
This is not mean to attack Kimiko since a lot of other people are doing the same thing... but why are people using "invite" as a noun? Reading things like "thanks for your invite" is as annoying as that persistent itch on your back you can't reach.

Thanks. Looks like I'll have to poke around the normal forum more.

... Any tips on the personalization of the invitations?

@NomNomNominal: As for the use of "invite" as a noun, my opinion is that it's being used as an abreviation for "invitation". It could be just improper word usage though.

It was short for 'invitation'..... -___-"

I'm not saying I do it, just that it is one option. I personally hate random invites with no thought put into them. Take a look at the persons profile and get a feel for what your guild has to offer them and apply that to the invitation. Most folks are pretty open about their likes and dislikes on their profile pages.
