Outside of the school is a large courtyard where students can go wherever they please. Many pathways run throughout the beautiful area, many of them passing various gardens. Also throughout the courtyard are various ponds, each with different kinds of fish swimming about within them. The courtyard itself provides access to various parts of the school and is best entered through some of the doors provided in the main halls.

It was slightly chilly and just a bit cloudy outside and she hadn't come dressed appropriately at all. Biting her lip, she turned to observe the spacious layout of the Courtyard, and fiddled with the bottom of her spaghetti strapped, cotton ,white sundress attempting to pull it well down below her knees. To shield her bare legs from the cold.
With her bag draped over her shoulder, she hopped and wobbled along trying to convince her body it wasn't cold. Though when several students standing by turned and pointed her spine snapped into place, and her cheeks turned a soft pink. Standing there pinned to the ground, she waited for the other students to pass before finally letting out the breath she had been holding for the past minute or so.
Continuing to wander around, she couldn't help but feel the growing tensions yanking at her insides. She was both excited and nervous about being new to the academy, but so far it didn't seem too bad. After all, it couldn't be all that evil with gardens as beautiful as the ones she saw. Even in the cold, every tree, every blade of grass was stunningly beautiful. Passing by a small brown looking tree, she bent down taking one of the leaves in between her fingers. She recognized it! It was a Japanese Maple, how cute. Reminded her of home.
With a small smile, and a brief giggle of satisfaction, she rested her hand against her hip. Overall she was proud of herself for being in such a 'environmental' mood. Hmm, interesting topic..She'd have to write on it later.

a beautiful『 x ✿ x 』 in the rain
Jacob was up long before the sun was, taking the 'early bird' thing to a whole new level. Three AM, nightmare of abstract sorts woke him up and wouldn't let him go back to sleep. For a while, he sat there, staring blank at the clear weather outside of his window, listening to the soft, almost childlike breathing of the roommate, whom he'd never actually met, that slept in the bed across from him. No emotions would come to him -- he was blocking it out. Eventually, when the red digital numbers on his cast-iron nightstand read 'four', he decided it was time to start his day. Quietly, he left the bedroom. In some sort of memory lapse, he found himself standing before the grand, floor length mirror, stark nude. Light amber eyes downcast in hatred towards his light peach skin and flesh, riddled with scars both old and new, self-inflicted and accidental. A stinging rain of hot water stuck his flesh as he stepped into the shower. Gingerly, he lathered soap onto a lofa and scrubbed his skin, wincing as the fresh cuts opened with force. The water tinged a slight pink but faded eventually as Jacob got out of the shower, smelling of Irish Spring and apple shampoo. After drying off and changing into a pair of black jeans ( no sagging, unlike his brother ), white hightop Converse and a black wifebeater under a long-sleeved flannel shirt. Today, today, he felt rather grey. Sketchbook underarm, clouds gathering in the slowly brightening sky, Jacob made his way outside. It was a rather chilly Autumn morning in the courtyard. And, for once, Jacob was properly dressed.
Birds chirped, chasing one another merrily, from browning tree to tree. Near the Forbidden Forest, Jacob could see a fox watching over her babies as they played. The world was so unknowningly happy. Seven in the morning and people were already outside. He'd been in the shower longer than he thought, perhaps. Jacob took a seat by the fountain, sketch book in his lap as he struggled to find muse. In his head, he hummed softly, a slight pang in his heart as he tried to do it outloud. Cancer... What a horrible thing. The doctors told him he was lucky it hadn't spread and only remained in his throat. But, even after the cancer was gone, his voice still had not returned. Mute. That's what he was. God was cruel, so horribly cruel. Outside his angry thoughts, the clouds darkened and thickened, signaling storm coming as Jacob failed to keep his anger and sadness in check. Everyone fled inside, with the exception of one girl, who was occupied with a shedding maple tree. Tears stung his eyes. 'Go inside!' He barked to her in his head, knowing she would be able to hear his voice, tired and sad, within her own mind.
He closed the book as thunder snapped the sound barrier, while lightning flashed in the blackened sky. These kind of thoughts brought out the worst of him. And they only happened when he was alone. With Tirza, Pedro or Justin, none of this would happen! Tirza... If only... His breath caught in his throat, and, for a second, Jacob thought he might calm down. But, the rain came, slow at first, then, like lethal bullets. The wind howled, scattering them and tearing the last leaves off the trees who'd been waiting for winter. He fled under a gazebo, realizing that Tirza would never fully feel for her as he did, simply because he was too ******** up for anything like love. Thunder. Lightning. Anger, hate. He couldn't stop it. Everything kept coming, no matter the thought that would seem to make it better. Hope? Left it. He sat there, torn up, shaggy, white-blond hair dampened from the downpour, trying to focus on something else. Like perhaps the girl, who'd likely decided to heed his warning when it was too late. They both were far off from the school's double doors of safety. What else could be done?

As she looked up at the sky, disappointment showed strongly in her face. " Oh no, it was just starting to get pretty out." People from all around started running towards the front door, but before she could even think about following a voice rang loud and fierce above the booming thunder.
She found herself delusional for a few seconds, thinking she was hearing things. Though the voice was so close, she could have sworn she heard it very clearly. As she was caught up in the raging storm, she looked desperately around her. What if someone was in trouble? She had to help, she couldn't just leave someone out there in the sloping rain. Shielding her face against the wind and rain, she attempted to see around her, but everything just appeared in a blur as the rain bounced off the ground leaving a freezing mist covering the school grounds.
By now her clothes were soaking wet, and the white dress tuck to her skin revealing her white undergarments. Panicking and frustrated, she hesitated to stay out in the freezing rain any longer. She would have to find some place dry to get under. In the distance, through the thick curtain of rain, she saw a long lanky figure dash across the coutryard. Since she literally had no idea where she was going, her best bet was to follow her fellow student.
To her relief, her instincts had been correct, up ahead of her was a gazebo. Hopefully the other student wouldn't mind her company. As she dashed under the shelter, she dropped the handle of her bag and it fell just out of her reach, splashing into a puddle. Oh dear! She cursed softly to herself, and attempted to reach out for her bag without getting back out in the rain. Finally she was able to drag it over, and she stood there hands on her knees completely out of breath.
Her starlight colored hair, cut short in waves, swirled around her face. Some strands that were saturated in the ice cold water, stuck to her forehead and the sides of her face. Her cheeks and nose were red from the cold, and chill bumps were starting to pop up all of her body. When she finally got a good look at the student, her face turned a deep scarlet. It was a young boy, blond hair, at least a good two feet taller than her, soaked, just as she was. Pulling her longer sweater tighter around her body (to cover up what might be visible underneath her clothes) she politely bowed. " Oh, um, I'm sorry! I was just looking around and then all of a sudden this downpour came an-" Her voice was soft and clear, like the twinkling of bells, and held a slight asian accent of some sort.
She was quickly interrupted as a violent sneeze tore through her sinuses, causing her to emit a small squeaking sound.

a beautiful『 x ✿ x 』 in the rain
Did they have a kindergarten level at CPA? This girl certainly looked to innocent and young to attend this school. Then again, looks could be deceiving. Jacob sighed softly, staring off into the rain, not bothering to tempt himself with looking at her dress, which was painfully see through. Not his style anyway. He spoke, through her mind, anyway. 'I caused the storm.' He simply stated, glancing and turning back to her when he saw that she had put on a sweater. She sneezed violently and he couldn't help but smile at the squeaking noise she made when it came out. 'If you don't mind me asking, how old are you?' Hopefully, now that he thought of it, Jacob couldn't help but hope the girl wouldn't be freaked out by the fact he was talking with her via telepathy. After all, she looked to be a girl who was frightened easily by most things. Pushing all thoughts aside, he focused now on trying to calm down so the violent storm would cease. The wistful look in his eyes wouldn't fade-- The longer he stared into the sky, the more deep he seemed to think. No calm thoughts, either. He took a deep breath, forcing himself to look at her, at his sketchbook.
At his sketchbook. Some kind of distraction.

He must be really powerful.. Turning her head towards him, she looked him over very carefully. For several moments she continued to stare, not really caring or having enough sense to be polite and look away. A small part of her wanted to speak out about the storm, maybe even ask him if it really was some sort of power of his.
Before she got the chance though, he had bluntly asked her how old she was. Her face automatically turned red, and she brought her knees close to her chest attempting to hide her frail form. She was well aware of the fact that for her age she was very small, and even though she tried her best not to show it on stage, she was very self conscious about it. " I'm..u-u-uh.." For a moment she hesitated and actually thought about lying. Though if she insisted she was any younger, wouldn't that cause him to look down on her work as a musician, even a little? Her face forcefully twisted into a small smile, clinching her fists together hard, trying to force the words out. " I'm seventeen, why?" It was more of a rhetorical question, only for her to answer, but acting like it was nothing made the situation a little less embarrassing.
Seeing him staring off into space, she wasn't exactly sure what else to say. Yet, she felt as if she was missing something important. Now that she thought about it, she had never seen him open his mouth to speak...She couldn't believe she hadn't noticed until then.
" WHOA! That was so cool! " Her face lit up excitedly, and her eyes shone with the deepest curiosity. Never before had she been around people with special gifts like herself, and she really had no idea what other stuff could be out there. " How did you do that, was it like some sort of like mind con-" Once again her ramblings were cut off by a violent sneeze, but this one had come so suddenly that she forgot to allow air to freely pass through her nose and throat. The sound of the sneeze was muted, and it left a strong burning sensation in her nose. " Itai!" She cried, holding her nose as the burning continued down her throat.

'You look awfully young to be here, that's all.' His mind-voice sounded much as how his normal voice would sound, slightly deep, rich and laced with some sarcasm, some depression. Jacob ignored her hesitation, searching her head quickly and discretely to assure she wasn't lying -- It was the easiest way, after all. He'd begun to stare off into space though, focusing on stopping the storm. Which, worked until she bust out with "WOAH!" It frightened him considerably and caused him to not only drop his sketchbook open to a page which contained a drawing of Tirza from afar, but, also caused a sudden bolt of lightning to hit the ground nearby, anticipating his fear. Quickly, embarrassed to have let her see his drawing of the one girl he loved the most, he reached down to scoop it up, not realizing his sleeves rode up just a bit to reveal scars which tell all. Before Jacob could explain that he was mute and didn't have the ability to speak, she shrieked once more. But, this time he was prepared and nothing happened. His mind was on other things, now, though, which was good because the storm began to calm down. 'Are you alright?' He cocked his head, looking at her with light amber eyes of concern.
Outside their shelter, the rain pittered and pattered, slowly coming to a stop.
'I do have mind control, but, that isn't really what it's called in this case. I'm telepathic. Considering I can't speak out loud, I do so through other people's thoughts. I hope you don't mind. It's rather hard to do it otherwise.' He paused. 'I'm Jacob, by the way.' The mute introduced himself, giving a quick, strained smile. Unaware that the minuet girl in front of him was his roommate.

" Oh..Yeah, I guess I'm kind of smaller than most.." She tried her hardest to smile and be confident, but it didn't come quite as easily as she hoped it would. Whenever someone made a comment like that, her mind flashed back to when she was a small girl and people would continously tease her about her size. It hit a small place in her heart, no matter how hard she tried to hide it otherwise.
For the moment she was caught up in her own thoughts, and he appeared to be, and when the lightening hit it really startled her. Jumping slightly, her eyes opened widly. She was going to answer she was fine, but she wasn't quite sure anymore. The weather was starting to scare her, and being about the boy was starting to become a little unnerving. " Yeah..I'll be fine.." Casting her eyes to the side, she glanced down at his sketchbook. For a moment she felt jealous of the beautiful girl drawn on the page, and forced herself to control her curiosity.
When he told him about his powers, she wasn't really listening, and merely just responded like she had heard what he said. Her mind was too focused on the drawing she had seen, and something else rather scary..Scars? A lot of them at that. What could have happened to him? Of course the question was too personal..." Oh..I'm Olivia. Olivia Symphony. Nice to meet you Jacob."
Just when she decided if she stared at his hands any longer he was going to make some crude comment, she spoke up about his sketchbook. " Are you an artist? The drawing..It was beautiful..."

a beautiful『 x ✿ x 』 in the rain He shook his head. 'It's not meant to be offensive. Tirza is the same height as you... Just a different... build.' Strained smile, try to focus on something else. Jacob blinked away thoughts, focusing on the girl's marvelously colored hair. It was indeed unlike any color he'd seen before. Almost the color of stars, sprinkled across the Milky Way. Thinking of the beautiful night sky, Jacob felt instantaneously calmed down. And, finally, the storm ceased entirely. 'Symphony, huh? Quite the unique last name.' This girl was so peculiar. Something about her was just... different. In a good way, of course, but, nevertheless, the more Jacob thought about it, the more shivers went down his spine. It was just a feeling he got, call it intuition. His thoughts were broken away from 'odd feelings' when she mentioned the picture that had fallen from his sketchbook.
So damn it all, she had seen it. Well, Jacob wasn't about to lie -- there would be no point. 'Well... I suppose I am... The only thing seemingly more beautiful than that picture is the subject herself..." ACK! Shove it away, shove it away! But, alas, Jacob did not become wistful. He only smiled a crooked smile as he looked into the girl's eyes, cocking his head slightly. 'I used to be able to sing.' He added, nodding slightly. The sun came out to shine beyond the gray clouds, which were slowly disappearing.

Her mood became ecstatic, as she broke out into a heart warming smile. The boy was so nice, so sweet, but why did he appear so sad to her at first? Then there was the storm. If he created it, how exactly did he? Perhaps it had something to do with his emotions...? If her assumptions were correct, could the weather represent how he was feeling right then? Could he possibly be sad, maybe even depressed? She wasn't sure, and didn't want to pry. She would try her best to cheer him up though.
" Oh I see.." She smirked, poking him teasingly in the arm. "Your girl crush possibly? How cute!" Giggling softly, she glanced up at the sky which was now starting to clear up. The sun slowly started to break through the clouds as they floated away. A ray of light seemed to be focused just on the two of them, and she quickly relaxed under the warmth of the sun.
Watching him out of the corner of her eye, she saddened a bit at the mention of singing. Singing was everything to her. If she couldn't sing, she really didn't see the point of anything else in life. To loose her voice, well, that would be a tragedy to say the least. " Oh.." Tapping her fingers against her knee, she rocked back and forth in place. " I sing...Recently I got a record deal with a company in Japan.." She said this very slowly as her voice faded out, like she was not sure of herself

a beautiful『 x ✿ x 』 in the rain It was a bad idea for her to even mention that. However true it was, thinking of that made his emotional balance flinch. But, Jacob pushed the thoughts away, far into the back of his head where images of Rosie O'Donnell in n****e tassels danced around, resurfacing to make him shudder at the most inconvenient moment. And so he did, which distracted him from Tirza. Jacob forced a small smile. 'You could say that. I've known her all my life, after all.' He wouldn't go into detail with that just yet. Probably wait until he knew the girl a little better. Of course, unbeknown to Jacob, he would certainly get to know her more considering she was his roommate. Yes, as in the one he never saw due to the fact he woke early and stayed out late, going to his room as less as possible. There was no particular reason -- Jacob just preferred being out and about, and, with friends like his, there was never a boring moment. 'I wonder where they are now...' A quiet thought, not directed at anyone in particular.
His attention snapped back to Olivia as he noticed how sad she became as he mentioned singing. Jacob suddenly felt he could relate to the girl as he listened to her feelings, the ones floating in her head. 'Singing was my life once, too. Until I was diagnosed with throat cancer. It took my voice and nothing else... Sometimes, I can only wish it would have taken my life with it.' For a second, he became wistful, but, forced it away as the clouds began to make their way back onto the scene. 'But, I guess I have my other talents... Tell me, what happened to you? If you got a record deal, why are you in such a place like this?' Oh, Jacob couldn't help but feel a tinge of jealousy. He could have gotten a record deal, too. It wouldn't matter about fame, just the fact that people would appreciate him and enjoy his voice... That's what would matter. Jacob bit his lip and thought sunshine and cool breeze, leaning his head backwards, allowing the wind to jostle his hair slightly.

She felt as if it was wrong of her to talk about her success and her passion for singing while he, sadly, had lost his ability to sing. Something inside of her heart jerked at her conscience, and she deeply wanted to just randomly reach out and give him a hug. Of course, that would be rather weird, so she kept the urge locked up tight in her mind. Though with every word that escaped his mouth, her emotional stability started to waver dramatically. She felt that if her thoughts and emotions bounced around in her mind for any longer, surly something would break. Meltdown.
She stared at him eyes wide, trying to force the words out casually. " Well uh..I've never actually been to a school with others before. " Pausing, she squeezed her dress hard, staring down into the fabric as hard as she could. In the back of her mind she just knew if she said anymore, the tears burning at her eyes would surly overflow. If she cried in front of him, what would she do? No, she wouldn't, she couldn't. Determination flared in her veins, and she took a calm breathe to calm herself. " My manager said that my stage presence was different. I got to where I'd freeze up at lives..She thought I needed a break from being on stage.."
Her chest was pounding, and it felt as if the entire time she had spoken she hadn't once taken a breathe of fresh air. The flesh on her neck and chest grew hot, and she could feel the color rising to her cheeks. Self esteem is such a fragile thing, especially when it comes to what you love about yourself most. For her it was singing, and that dream even as she spoke so calmly about it, might be in severe danger. No, she would hide this feeling of self doubt, the need to become stronger was burning too brightly for her to give up. Calming herself, she smiled sheepishly. Her expression remained in a somewhat gentle melancholy state.

a beautiful『 x ✿ x 』 in the rain Jacob cocked his head slightly as she spoke, noticing her expression changed. He could sense the sadness in her and couldn't help but want to reach over and hug her. 'It's alright. We all go through hardships in life. In the end, it'll be worth it. Just be glad you have a voice.' Mentally, Jacob slapped himself. There he wnet feeling sorry for himself again. There's no reason he should be happy about it, true. But, bringing other people further down was bad. Jacob shook his head, as though to apologize. 'Nevermind what I said. Just ignore me, I'm bitter.' Jacob rolled his eyes and smiled softly.

Though when he let go of her, something felt oddly empty. It didn't feel right at all. For a moment she stared at him with an unhappy look on her face, playing his words over and over again in the back of her mind. Then it finally clicked. He was absolutely right, she had no right to mope about. It could be worse. " No. You're right." Slamming her hands against the ground she leaned towards him, looking him straight in the face. Those pretty Amber eyes, no matter how beautiful they were, appeared sullen and sad to her. Many times she tried to push it out of her mind, just to be polite.
" You know what?" Slowly a smile crept across her face, one that was genuine and from the heart. " Even though I just met you Jacob, I think..." Momentarily she paused to recollect her thoughts so she could put them into words as best she could. " You're an amazingly strong person." With a small wink, she formed a Japanese V ( Victory sign or peace sign ) with her fingers, nodding enthusiastically. Suddenly she was very happy as a familiar melancholy tune popped in her head. It was the sound of the music box her adopted mother had given her for her first birthday with her family. It played a sad tune that eventually became somewhat cheerful at the end. One of those songs that made you think about your dreams, and your childhood. Like those ballerina music boxes every little girl owned at one time or another. However strange as it was, the feeling she had at that very moment, mirrored the feeling of staring at the small ballerina twirl around to happy melodic tunes.
" You have ever right to be bitter, in my opinion. " Legs stiff, she stepped out into the light and reached towards the sun with her hands. For a moment she stayed this way, letting the sun bath her in its gentle rays. Her clothes had dried by then, and the sniffles she had earlier quickly cleared up. Then because the song just wouldn't leave her mind, she started to hum, and then started to muttered quick words to herself. It was a quiet song mostly meant to be heard only by herself. " ikiru yuuki to.." After singing a few words in Japanese she would switch back and forth between humming and singing quietly. Then suddenly she turned back towards Jacob, and said (instead of singing) " With the courage to live, the future I embrace. The strength everyone's words gave to me. "
Feeling a bit odd now, she slapped her hand over her mouth. " Oops, I've gone and said something weird again haven't I?" She said awkwardly. "Anyway! Forget what I said." Grabbing hold of her suitcase's handle, she walked a few feet forward and pointed towards the dorms building. " Want to head towards the dorms? This thing is kind of heavy heehee.."
