[ The Chocobo Farm and Fields ] The Current Weather: Mildly Warm, Clear Skies Time of the Day: Late Evening The original Chocobo Farm has expanded a great deal ever since the happenings of the game. With a larger corral as well as stables, up to a hundred Chocobos can stay there, between the stables and corral itself.
The terrain is a soft plush green grass that is devoid of any monsters with various small ponds for drinking. All around the fence lining there are troughs full of various feed for the Chocobos (that do not affect their stats, silly people!).
Inside the stable you'll find all the stalls, as well as saddles and reins to go riding with your Chocobos, but only around the fields and the corral. The fields expand out towards the ocean shoreline (but not directly onto it) and stop about two hundred yards outside of the Marshes.
Remember: You must stay in character at all times in this thread, posting OOCly in brackets when need be. This thread is for people who want to role play with their Chocobos and who wish to role play as their Chocobos. Either form of role play will allow your Chocobo's compatability to go up so that you can race them. You are allowed to role play as your Chocobo's "owner" even if you do not have a character here in the shop.
Role playing here is done so that we can keep track of your compatability with your Chocobo. You are allowed to role play your Chocobo / with your Chocobo outside of this thread but doing so here will guarantee that we're seeing everything (as well as if you post in your journal).

With the sun so high and bright in the sky, Tymara lifted a hand casually to shade her eyes from the painful violation. Even with the time of day it was, the young girl had not been up for very long causing a false sense of pain from the warmth and light of the day.
Plia was happily plodding about her feet, nipping here and there, squaking at the odd bug that happened to garner the audacity to cross her path. Chianni was being quiet, led about the corral by her reins as Tymara sauntered about. The girl wasn't overly interested in actually attempting to ride the large bird however. But she had felt the urge to at least let them out and about.
Well, not that either of the Chocobo's were going to let her do anything but. The only reason she was up was because of the quiet promise she had made them the night before. A mild repent for being up so late the night prior.
Eyeing what appeared to be butterfly like in nature, Plia jerked her head downwards, tail feathers ruffling, looking like a cat ready to strike. Ty turned as a short winded kweh rolled off the Chocobo's throat, just in time to see the poor thing bolt forward. Catching her foot on a piece of dirt and taking a swift tumble to the ground, Plia rolled about until she landed on her rear. Shaking her head, letting out a squak, her eyes glanced towards Tymara, innocence laden within.
"... It's going to be one of those days." the petite girl sighed, wandering over and helping the Chocoling up from the ground.

Falcon was sitting on the top most rung of one of the fences, watching the various Chocobos inside the corral as they played, taking notice that there was someone else nearby. He reclines back somewhat but not enough to actually fall off, tossing his arms across his chest to rest over it while he watches her with her Chocobo, not aware that the little one squawking and flopping around is also hers.
Now, Falcon didn't have one of his own yet. He was in the process of obtaining one, but was a little short on the funds to get it. He did a lot of mercenary work but at a cheap price so what didn't go into any extra bills or necessary needs was stuffed away in a little self-made bank at his place. He was coming in close on his aim though; just another job or two and he'd have it.
One of his hands lifts, rubbing at his face and nose with the scruffy leather glove. The other arm drops to grab hold of the piece of wood he's steadied himself on, exhaling a yawn. He had been up for a few hours but he was still tired, but he liked to sit around here, watching the people and their Chocobos to learn more about them himself seeing as how he didn't know too much. Maybe by observation he could learn a thing or two.

Unware that they were being watched, Tymara knelt down next to Plia, once she has righted the small chocobo, and dusted dirt from the critter's soft feathers. Smiling inspite of the little one's mishap, Ty slowly got back up from the ground, bits of grass falling from her pants.
"Next time guys, we're not coming until the evening, got it?" she mused, wondering if they even really understood her. Chianni seemed to roll her eyes and turned her head away, beak digging into her side. An itch it would seem. The plucky small Chocobo hopped up once, then turned it's head suddenly away from Tymara. Squaked at something in the distance, then bolted off again.
"Hey... PLIA!" Rounding on her heels she watched the small fluff of pink moving in on... hey wait. There was someone else around. Oh no...
"Damnit..."
Meanwhile, Plia continued on her quest. Yes, she was going to go meet this strange person. Whether Ty wanted her to or not. She had a goal in mind. And hey, he could have food! Really, that was what was most important here.

Watches, remaining ever observant, and learning that both Chocobos were no doubt hers now. He looks rather out of place with his dark skin, those shorts, that odd shirt, and the even odder armor lining it. He was an out-of-town boy; it was easy to see. Sunbleached hair, dark green eyes, various teeth and other beach accessories on his body; he was definitely from Costa Del Sol.
Another yawn, a little sound accompanying it, and he sniffs quietly afterwards, eyes watering and he rubs at them. While rubbing at his eyes was when he heard the little pitter-patter of quick feet, pulling his hand down enough to see the little pink Chocobo Chick running at him full speed. Thankfully it was tiny and he was up on the fence so she couldn't do any harm except to herself.
His head tilts down to watch as it comes up to him, staring with a curious expression. Him with food? A little, but maybe not anything that it would like, but who knew exactly. However, he knew the little bird could run off at any time away from its owner so he slides down, slowly, reaching out to take hold of the Chick to hold her.
"Is this yours?" he shouts out to her, chuckling quietly as he stares back at the woman.

"Kweh!" Plia bounced about in the large hands of the man she was now being held by. Seemingly contented, the little chick closed her eyes, fluffing her feathers out in a showy manner.
Palming her face slightly, Tymara wandered over, tugging slightly at Chianni to follow suit with her. Apparently Chianni was content where she was however, and about halfways there, Tymara felt herself get yanked back. Hearing the man call out, she let out a nervous laugh, followed by an awkward grin. Tapping Chianni slightly on the beak she chided her in silence.
"Yah, she's mine. Her name's Plia. Seems t'like ya." blowing back a loose strand of hair from her face, she shoved her hands in her pocket, relenting the large Chocobo's reins and hoping with every part of her that she would stay put.
Trudging forwards, Tymara eyed the man up slightly. She'd never seen him before, not once. Pulling a hand from her pocket, she placed it to her chin and tilted her head to the side slightly.
"M'Tymara, nice t'meet ya." By this point, Plia's eyes were opening and the ball of fuzz was once more bouncing around in Falcon's hands.
"Hey little one."

He easily holds the Chocobo Chick up in his arms, standing at his full height with no difficulty. The bird was very light weight, if only because the bones are hollow -- as all bird bones are. Even as she bounces around he doesn't have much difficulty, chuckling at the pink bubbly (physically and mentally!) baby.
"She's cute," he answers, offering the younger woman a bright smile. He was not the typical withdrawn hero or anything; he was a happy guy, content with life while leading a double one of danger.
"Falcon," he also adds quickly after she introduces herself, still holding the Chocobo up and only because she seems very content to stay there in his grasp. "It's nice to meet you too. They both yours?"
He was curious. Who could blame him? He had always liked birds so Chocobos were right up his alley and he was interested in learning all that much more.

Heading tipping back at the man stood, Tymara suddenly felt the pressure on her height. Or better yet, lack there of. Suddenly realizing that her jaw had dropped slightly in awe of this, she clapped it shut, nodding curtly.
"Yah, they're both mine. That stubborn fluff of feathers back further is Chianni. They're good Chocobo's... just kinda... in their own worlds I suppose." a grin flicked across her face.
"Hrn... You got Chocobo here too?" in the background, Chianni was begining to wander about, pecking down to the ground, scratching at the dirt, pushing rocks about.
Plia flopped in Falcon's hands, pretending to be tired. The bristle of her little body however was a dead giveaway to her excitement.

Ah, free time truly was precious these days, Viper had noticed. Given leave from the unit for a day or two, he had chosen to get the heck out of Midgar for the day and go check up on his choco's in the ranch. It had turned out an excellent day to do so, the sun shining brightly through the clouds, reminding him how long it had been since he had been out of that dark and misty place he called home. Out here, his "condition" didn't seem too bad, sounds that normally pressed in from all angles were gone, replaced by faint chocobo coos, warks and the occaisional voice carried from elsewhere in the farm.
It had been a while since he was last here, but he never lost the mental map of where his chocobo were housed. The stables were warm and smelled faintly of straw as he entered out of the bright daylight, his eyes glowing in the gloom.
A few chocobos gave him reproachful looks from their stables as he passed on his way. Finally, he came to where his Chocobo and Chickobo were stalled, side by side, he knew the farm schedule and it must be their turn in the open pasture soon, he reckoned. Might as well let them stretch their legs in the yard, get some grooming done.
Metorian tilted his head as he caught sight of Viper and let out a happy squawk. Viper, as usual, reached up a hand to scratch the chocobo behind his crest, one of his favourite spots. "Hello there you." he said with an affectionate grin.
Another peep met his ears and he looked down into the neighbouring stall, this one a little higher. "Ah! Nattak! Long time no see."
Reaching in, he scooped up the red and white chicobo and held the tiny creature up to examine. "Wow, you've gotten big since I last saw you, gotten some of that red plumage in I told them you'd have." Gently, he tucked the chicobo under one arm, cradling it carefully, and tacked up Metorian on a lead rein before taking both chocos out into the sunlight and the quiet yard.
Now all he had to do was find a vacant pen to let them stretch their legs in.

Now Falcon didn't mean to be so tall! It was those genes but he found himself having to crane his head downwards to stare down at her. No, he wasn't attempting to make her feel small or intimidated; it just could not be helped with his height.
At the mention of the adult Chocobo's name, he tilts his head up to look at her, smiling. "Pretty awesome," he states while nodding. "Oh no, I don't. I've almost got enough to buy one though."
He finally gently sets the Chicobo down onto the ground, giving her a gentle rub on the head and over her beak while smiling down at her. He rises back up to his feet now, tucking his hands into the pockets of his large shorts. "A lot of my gil goes towards bills and other necessities; not enough for a Chocobo of my own just yet."

Large eyes complete with what could only be described as a smile, Plia seemed to emit a happy sound as Falcon gave her the quick pat. However, once realizing she was now free to mill about, she began to circle Tymara's feet, eyeing the length of ribbon just out of reach of her beak.
"Huh, I suppose that's a good place for it to go." Tymara gave a quick nod of the head, turning and looking about the coral a bit. Chianni was beginning to move towards the pair, slowly, probably to make sure that Plia was keeping out of trouble. Although unrelated, Chianni had semi-taken Plia under her wing.
No pun intended of course.
"Yah she's pretty great. Stubborn as an ox though." the petite girl rolled her heels, swaying slightly.
"Well, I certainly hope y'can get one for yerself. They're great companions really. Course, less y'get a real stubborn one I suppose..." her eyes darting warningly back at Chianni who seemed to sluff the comment off with an obnoxious squak.

"Well, I do need to eat and have a place to live," he answers with a laugh, rubbing at the back of his head through that messy two-colored hair of his then dropping it down to his side while watching the little Chocobo circle around her owner.
"Mm, yeah, I've heard a lot of good things about them. Even if I don't get one, I have always enjoyed watching the races." He was something of a gambling man and Chocobo Racing was one of the biggest money makers -- and money losers -- out there in the world today.
"Though I wouldn't mind getting one. I don't have a car so I gotta walk around every where most of the time. I mean, it's great exercise," and it obviously was since he had a nice build. "But it'd be great to get somewhere faster than I would by walking." He grins.
"Racing one would be pretty wicked too." Judging by the way he spoke, he obviously was just out of his teenage years, but only by a few years. "What are yours for?"

Viper could see two unfamiliar faces over by one of the pens, and pondered wether to head over and let Metorian in for a walk around. After all, there wasn't any other chocobos out in the fenced off area. Making his way over, he opened the gate and let Meto in, removing the lead rein. The Chocobo let out another greatful wark and went off for a walk across the grass. Viper just watched him go before turning his attention back onto Nattak. He was fiercely protective of the chicobo and wasn't sure wether he wanted to let him run about the ground in case he got underfoot, so, deciding the best option was to let Metorian look after the chick for now, he placed Nattak on the grass, where, in true chicobo style, he followed the larger chocobo around like a sheep.
It really did amuse the pale haired man how well the two chocobos seemed to get along. Metorian had a latent maternal side to his nature that Nattak brought out effortlessly.
Removing his SOLDIER cap, worn most of the time for the sake of it, Vipe leaned against the fence and fanned himself with the brim. He didn't like eavesdropping, but, thanks to his lovely habit of paying attention to every little noise at once, it was hard not to. However, he showed no sign of his attentiveness to the two not far off, his gaze on his chocobos.

"Hmm.. originally I got 'em to have companions..." she started out slowly, carefully choosing her words.
"But, I dunno now. They're like friends, in a way." She reached down and pulled Plia up just as the little one was hopping to grab at the ribbon, "but I think racing would be neat. I dunno if I could be doin' that with Chianni here though. She likes to lounge and be lazy. But she's pretty good for goin' distances. Doesn't get tired real quick like. Plia here, maybe when she's older. But right now I'm not thinkin' too much on it." as if on cue, Plia nestled against Tymara's shoulder, making an odd mix of a squak and coo noise to the world.
"So where y'from? I never seen y'round here before." Chianni reached over Tymara's shoulder and pecked lightly at Plia's head. Plia, in return, scuttled about Ty's shoulders and dropped off her back, chasing after Chianni's feet.
"Oi what a handful..."

Now Falcon may be no professional soldier but he did have a sixth sense that told him when he wasn't alone, or in this case, they. There was also the sight of the extra Chocobos that he breaks his attention of Ty to look around and spy the man nearby. Eyes narrow for a split second, studying him then he looks back to her with his previous happy expression.
He nods his head in acknowledgement, keeping those hands securely placed in his pockets. Did he have his sword with him? Always. It was tucked neatly away at his right hip as it ought to be, ready for use at any given moment, but there was always a lingering hope that he could go each day without having to make use of its sharp edge.
"Oh. I'm from Costa Del Sol," he answers. There was the reason for his sea-side like get up and dark skin. He was a beach boy, often times spending it on waves or lounging in the sand. Or, well, when he had the time to do so anyway. "I have some friends who live in Midgar so I was coming over to visit them. What about you -- where you from?"
