A large yawn escaped Tyver as he lounged atop a warm rock, taking in the warmth of the sun. A soft breeze ripples through the land, making the grass sway and the bamboo at the edge of the field rustle quietly. If any birds were about, none could be heard, and Tyver guessed it was because the bamboo didn't look so easy to hold onto. Even so, the quiet calmed him, and he looked around, drinking in the sights of the new land.
He had come from the Neutral lands, keen on escaping a particularly obsessed female for the moment. Sometimes, she could be enjoyable to be around, as she doted on him enough to do whatever he told her to, but she was much too territorial for his tastes. He snorted and licked his nose at the thought of her, and a sense of urgency seemed to come about him. He leaped nimbly off the rocks and retreated into the nearby bamboo forest, wondering if the female had been crazy enough to follow him this far.

Slowly, a deep sigh escaped the blue helix, as she padded slowly down the barely used path. It felt nice--to feel the dirt beneath her paws. As much as she adored her ability to fly, a stroll amongst the bamboo was just as pleasant. The large butterfly-like wings folded neatly along her back, her staff and most of her small followers gone from sight. Occasionally, one would flit into her view, always staying close--just incase they were needed.
And what, exactly, was she doing out here, out of her pack's territory? Air. Lumiere had felt overwhelmed with the introduction of refreshened duties(along with other, minor reasons. Jealousy was a wasteful emotion... Was it not? No, how could she be jealous of a factor that she was sure wasn't even there?)
Lumiere's gaze drifted amongst the surrounding foilage, her nose twitching slightly. Was someone approaching? "Hello?"

Tyver paused, his nose twitching. There was a new scent in the air kind of like... like.... He sniffed more and was surprised by his findings. A helix that smelled like butterflies. He was about to investigate, curious, when a voice called through the stalks. He smiled. The voice was lovely, and he was sure its owner would be as well. He padded towards the noise, glad to see it led to the helix that smelled similar to butterflies as it ridded the confusion from his mind.
"Hello." he replied back when she was within view, his voice honey smooth. He eyed her and marveled at the beautiful wings upon her back. He padded closer to her at a slow pace, so as not to frighten her but he realized he needn't have worried. She was an Alpha.

Lumiere's ears perked at the smooth voice, finding the tone rather relaxing as the owner of it's voice came into view. He was certainly an interesting helix, to put it lightly. She marveled at the winding pattern that adorned his fur, and eyes a shade bluer then any clear day she had ever seen. He held himself with stature--a beta, perhaps. However, he didn't seem like he was from the East... The wings along her back fluttered slightly before returning to rest. How lucky was she, to cross another? In truth, is was refreshing to meet someone new. Especially with all her new stress, a new encounter may be what she needed to get her second wind back.
"My name is Lumiere." She paused, offering a warm smile to the male. "May I ask you for yours, decorated stranger?"

"Of course you may." Tyver replied, dipping his head slightly in respect. "My name's Tyver. Not as beautiful as yours, I'm afraid." He dipped his head lower and tried to watch her subtly from the corner of his eye, waiting to see if there were any signs signifying that this Alpha liked flattery or submissive helixes.
As he watched her, he couldn't help but notice how stunning she was. She almost looked like one of the blue butterflies he had seen around these parts and the way she held herself only added to her grace. He would love to spend a night with her, perhaps two. But Alphas were risky business. He knew he'd have to take it slow.

Lumiere smiled at the show of respect, repeating his name in her head. She shook her head slightly at his remark. "Nonsense. Your name is unique, and seems well suited for you." She felt more relaxed with his presence, almost at ease.
His flattery was starting to have it's effect on her. Her stomach seemed to flutter gently, the new feeling causing more of her followers to come. The pale blue butterflies flickered in and out of sight, making the alpha sigh slightly. She glanced back at Tyver and smiled. Who knows what could come of this.. "What brings you out this way?"

"Why, thank you." Tyver said, putting a bit of surprise and cheerfulness in his voice. "It means a lot coming from one such as you." He raised his head and smiled slightly, waving his tail once to show he was relaxed around her. I trust you, his silent body language said, and trust was a good, desireable thing. He tried not to look too calm, though. It would only make it seem as if he'd like any helix that came up and complimented his name.
His ears flickered with curiousity as more butterflies came, and the resemblance awed and confused him. An Alpha was normally the leader of a pack, but this Alpha looked as if she could be the leader of a different species, too. Pretending to look at the butterflies more, he quickly glanced at the female, and the way her eyes shone brighter signaled to him that she liked these compliments.
"Escaping troublesome females for the moment." he said, adding a tired sigh for emphasis. "They seem to have taken it upon themselves to stalk my every pawstep and chase away any other helix I may befriend, just so my attentions won't be divided." Another sigh. "I hope you don't mind. I wouldn't want to cause any trouble for you." He looked up at her once more and gave an apologetic smile which quickly turned into a dejected frown, as if he were only waiting for her to tell him to run off so she wouldn't have to be bothered.
The gears of his mind were turning. The fact that this Alpha was attractive even to the butterflies had made him want her more. If anything, a helix enjoyed competition and was a natural hunter, Alphas more so because of their high rank, and he hoped that by saying he was yearned for by many females would not only gain her attention but also arouse her instincts. By saying the females were toublesome would signify that he would be less likely to want a mate and if he acted as if he wanted her but was unsure because of previous bad experiences, she may just want him back, if only to prove to him that she could be better than the other supposed females he had met (if she was competitive, it would come in handy here) and to prove to herself that a "wary, uncertain" helix such as he was possible to catch.

A small flicker of humor danced in her eyes, as she partially watched his reaction to the addition of the butterflies. A smile adorned her face as she noted the relaxation in her new companion, a sense of happiness that he was at ease in her presence settling within. Lumiere, in return, felt herself relax. Tension that had welled up within the last few weeks within the recesses of her muscles unwound, and her tail swished gently against the ground.
Lumiere's ears perked as he spoke again. Something within her stirred as she processed this new information. Other females had gone through such troubles, to keep this male to themselves? Must Tyver posess such qualities that others would attempt to keep them for themselves..?
She studied his facial marks, trying not to seem obvious. Questions were turning in her head. Finally, she shook her head gently as she smiled. "Nonsense, it would be no trouble at all."
However, she found herself experiencing emotions and insticts that hadn't been awakened in a time. A small part of her reawakened at the thought of the fresh challenge. The thought of potentially being able to win over this male seemed to awaken her, the same drive that had propelled her to take her Alpha position. How could she not? Surely, this was destined. For destiny would not have thrown their meeting together, for nothing at all, surely?

Tyver dipped his head, a grateful smile on his lips. "Thank you." He even went as far as to lower most of his upper body into the bow, and when he rose, the smile was still plastered onto his face. A pivoting ear, a sideways glance, and a slight flick of his tail was all he needed to act as if he were looking at the butterflies again, although he was really taking another glance at Lumiere. He knew gazing directly at her might provoke a challenge and so he was stuck with his subtle glances. Still, he couldn't say he was displeased by what he saw.
"Do they always follow you?" he asked, raising a brow towards the butterflies. Staying silent for too long might lead her to discover what his real intentions were and besides, he really was curious about it.

Lumiere looked away, to watch her butterflies float overhead. She let out a small sigh, before laughing lightly. "Yes, indeed." She paused lightly, her eyes following one as it flipped through the air. Were they now prone to aerobatic tricks? "They have been at my side since I was little. They also carry things, much to my surprise." Lumiere glanced at Tyver, smiling gently to herself. "They are capable to more things then most credit them."
She submersed herself in her thoughts once more. Her emotions confused her. Why did this male seem so... enticing to her? Sure, his presence was a new wind to her life. And, yes, flattery could, indeed, get you anywhere in life, if played right.. But why was she feeling like this? The need to prove to this new male she could be better then his feminine followers?
While lost in her thoughts, she failed to notice of how her emotions had effected her fragile followers. Some of the butterflies drifted closer to the new male, a few even attempting to perch on Tyver.
Lumiere glanced at him, shocked at how they reacted. "Oh, I'm so sorry." She laughed softly, taking a few steps forward. "They.. tend to get carried away with themselves."

Tyver gave a small nod of acknowledgement, but he didn't reply. The way she set her expression made it seem as if she were about to speak more, and interrupting her wouldn't help. So he watched the butterflies with her, and waited. He thought they really were amusing, the way they spun and danced. Playful, almost.
"Really?" he said, his voice ringing with the hint of real surprise. "How very interesting." He looked over the butterflies once more, their blue coat almost glowing. As he did so, he caught sight of her expression. She looked confused, perhaps doubtful.
"You really must be special," he said, layering on more compliments. "in the good way, of course, if even the butterflies find you charming." He widened his eyes and looked away, as if by letting loose some hint that he, too, found her attractive, he had released some secret, and waved his tail jerkily, acting abashed.
He could feel the butterflies come closer, and they tickled his ears, but he went on playing as if he were too embarassed to notice, until she stepped closer and spoke. Only then did he let his ears flick, shaking the slight itch away, and raised his head a fraction. "Oh, no, it's fine, really."

Lumiere let her eyes wander, between both the butterflies and her new company. She smiled lightly at his compliment, however the show of happiness faltered as she caught the underlying message. Or, assumed she caught. She glanced over his reaction, the surprise and disconcerted body language told her she had been right.
A warmth welled inside her, as she flicked her tail once. His underlying confession of affection shouldn't be appeasing as it was. But then again, every female should liken to have suitors, for it adds to their ego, does it not? But her tail flicked in a loose, easy manner and her ears perked; and her reaction almost shocked her even more.
She wandered closer to Tyver, allowing the distance to close until she gently nudged his cheek with her nose. "Your very sweet, Tyver."
...Why?

Tyver could feel her watching and he looked down at his paws, still playing the shy guy. Even when he noticed her come closer, he went on pretending he was too focused on his paws to notice her, and his body shook with a small ripple of victory when he felt her nudge him, which he was sure she would take as surprise from her sudden contact.
"O-oh..." he said, letting his voice break in mock surprise and fade off, as he had practiced. "Thank you." He shifted from paw to paw and looked away slightly, as if contemplating. Finally, in a low voice that he was sure the Alpha was capable of hearing, he said, "I think you're very sweet, too."
He couldn't make himself blush, so he looked down again, to hide his face, and lowered his ears a tad, making it seem he was afraid of her reply to his comment. However, he allowed his tail to wave in a slight, smooth motion, as if it was a satisfying accomplishment to say those few words to the other.

Lumiere blinked slightly, wondering if his shudder had been her imagination or something else. However, her momentary suspicion had been replaced by warmth at his returned comment, although she had to listen carefully to hear him.
Her tail swished in a more carefree manner. Why did she feel she could trust this male so? Perhaps it was that feeling of warmth and adoration she felt more with him, then she did with Altair. Though having the peacock alpha as companionship was pleasant, sometimes his flirtations with other females got a little... annoying.
However, if he permitted himself to enjoy the company of other females.. Then surely she could allow herself to enjoy another male's comforts?
The blue helix smiled, remaining at her close proximity. "I can see why other females would seek your company." A small spark of what could be called jealousy sparked in her eyes. "You're extremely sweet, a wonderful conversationalist. You're also very pleasant to the eyes."

Tyver smiled inwardly, feeling victory close at paw. His eyes flashed with desire and he had to reprimand himself. Patience, he thought, reminding himself that the female before him was higher of status. It was easier to wait when he looked up and saw the jealousy in her eyes. The fact that she didn't step away pleased him, as well. He smiled back at her, shifting his features to appear more seductive and less thankful. Subtly, though, of course. Puppy steps.
By then, he was sure he wouldn't have to tread as lightly. She was like putty in his paws. Still, it didn't hurt to be careful. He loosened his muscles and swished his tail slowly, showing he was calm and comfortable with the small distance between them.
"Thank you." he replied, his voice more confident than the last time he had said those two words to her. "I could say the same to you, and much more." Again he smiled, implying that his last words were meant as a compliment.
