a logical guess is to suggest some of them might have a disease like autism or turrets that make them socially awkward. it could also be a person who's never been in a social environment and is all of a sudden stuck in one. tying to hard fit in, they over shooting, not knowing what to say or how to act, and getting shunned. they might also have been born with poor people skills.

the only reason someone is socially awkward is because of other people saying so

Trying too hard can make you seem socially awkward.

People need to just be more their relaxed self.

I'm not sure what this has to do with the subforum, but it does say a lot.

It may be significant that we live in a social environment where interaction happens on multiple levels (i.e phone, internet, person to person, etc.) and there are different rules and forms of etiquette for each. It seems to me that it would be easy for a person to understand the rules for one form of interaction, but not another.

Good point. Plus it also might be able for someone to translate their thoughts through typing instead of by their spoken words. An example would be someone with a speech impediment or other sort of mental disorders where someone is mentally intact, but physically cant communicate
