I have heard some people say the reason they dont like twilight is because she doesnt stick to the vampyre myth. i liked that feature. what do you think?

Yes, most likely...people don't like the sparkling thing. Even people at my work that don't even read twilight or vampire books in general don't like it.
The guys say it makes edward look like a f**.
Its just a different way of viewing things.
Even the vampires in House of Night have their own unique qualities.
Though, I admit, I'm attracted to Anne Rice's vampires.

I don't like the sparkling because it's sparkling, it makes it feel phony to me, Vampires are creatures of the night, if they are sexy it's because they are sexy in a dark way not in a bedazzled way. My real problem with it though is that without that, becoming a vampire is an easy way to cheat death and become super strong, the myth is the way it is because you must pay a terrible price to become such a powerful creature.
And in regards to your poll I'd rather explain and add on to the myth rather than doing any of those options.
And anyway, Edward doesn't have to sparkle in the daylight to look faggy to me, that just doesn't help his case.

Dont get me wrong I love twilight, but I agree vampires shouldnt sparkle. I have read many vampire books saying different things vampires shouldnt sparkle.

I am in trainign to be a mytholagyst (but im gana eb somethin else when i get older) And i have studied vampires and there harages.I know myth fron fact and have encountered many familys who have had a family member from many years ago been exicuted from vampire trials.Heres what i have discovered and believe,(i do believe in vampires)
Myth-Vampires canot go into sunlight or they will burn
Fact- Everyone burns if there in the sun to long just with vamires there have been differant breeds that react differantly in the sun.So for some yes for others no.With half-bloods (half human/vampire) it can go either way.
Myth-A wooden stake can kill a vampire
Fact- Wood has no affect on them,silver stakes on the other hand do.And teh shape does not matter,its just peopel used stakes cause there pointed.Any silver item will hurt vampires.Its how people started to think Lycans were alergic to silver when in reality it came from the vampires.Silver nitrate hurts vampires.
Myth-Dracula
Fact- There was no Dracula,i dont care what you say there was not.He came from a romainian prince that killed people by wearing there flesh as jewlry,drinking there blood,and eating there meat.
Myth-Vampires hate holy water
Fact-This one has some truth to it for vampires are seen as cretures of hell.Only they were rejected so anything holy hurt them.No,all holy water does is slow vampires down by makeing them sick at touch,but drinking it my conclude in death.
Myth-Garlic kills vampires
Fact-Wrong,garlic only paralizes them when injested.
Myth-Vampires are asociated with cats
Fact-No,cats are asocieated with witches.Cats are the guardians of hell that stop demons and lucifer from fully leaving so they poses people,well vampires didnt follow that rule so they were kicked out of hell.Vampires perfered hell caus it was suposably easyer to poses people from,but as they moved to the uper world and astablished human lives they relized it was a good thing.But they still hate cats cause cats can make them return to hell any time they wish.
Myth-Vampires hate lycans
Fact-Yes,i am sad to say lycans (warewolvs) like in the movie Underworld do not liek each other.The war stared as it did in the movie.You can look through history and see thats what happened.Lycan loved vampire,they were gana have a chiled,vampire king killed her his daughter starting teh war.Lycan were originaly slaves as well but now they have there own freedom and fit into society like everyone else.You may know one and not evan know it.

I want to know what books you reference any on this and please dont use wikipedia. I knew dracula was a real person, but he wasn't a real vampire.
The book by bram stoker started that myth.
The blood mistress too.

Dracula came into being when Vlad the Impaler, a Romanian Prince named Dracul from a similar time, and the myth of the vampire fused together inside Bram Stoker's mind. That's all.

Real Vampires DO NOT SPARKLE.
Sorry...had to get that off my chest.
Now...If you want your Vampires to Sparkle, then have them ride Unicorns while wearing Care Bear Shirts and singing Mr Rogers "Will You Be My Neighbor" -- Then all the hunters will put a wooden stake through their hearts, leave them for the sun (and more Sparkling), set them on fire and go look for the Real Vampires.
With all regrets to Stephenie Meyer’s I won't buy any of her other books or see any movie's based off of her books -- Sparkly Vampires are not something that I like. Plus, and sorry to say this, I found the story to be...lacking.
Needless to say, I like my Vampire Myths to be closer to the "Original" as possible. I don't mind a little tweeking, but no Vampire should be able to go into the Sun without suffering pain & death, survive only on animal blood, or sing Kum Ba Ya and eat marshmallows. Vampires should be Dark, Menacing, Dangerous, and (if necessary for the Story) Sexy -- not laughable and pathetic.

Oh wait, I found one slight detail I disagree with on your little rant, I like pain & eventual (as in about five to ten minutes, maybe more) death, because instant death is almost impossible to attain with just sunlight (unless you are caught on the sunny side of the moon without a space suit).

I keep telling her that she married me for my Retirement and Social Security Check (Oh wait...I was in the military...I'm not allowed to get a Social Security Check...even though I paid into it... evil ). OMG! first off....I'm shocked!!!!!
Are you telling me I dont get a social security check if Im in the military and retire later?
I'm in the military right now, its been less then a year now, so I've been clueless on how things work.....
and I like your rant too. I'm glad I invited people that love to talk.
I like keeping close to the original vampire myths as well in my writing my book.
