[-Route 6 will take you to Vermillion City. It's a grassy route and also has a small lake near the end. There are quite a few strong trainers to battle and as always, wild Pokemon to catch!-]

Maya entered Route 6 and soon hopped over a ledge. At that moment a young boy with a net approached her. "Hi! My name's Keigo. I'm a bug-catcher. Now that we've been introduced, let's battle!" he exclaimed, sending out a Weedle.
Maya, not having any time to respond, sent out her Meowth, regardless. The Meowth lunged forward, using Fury Swipes. The Weedle responded with Tackle. The battle went on like this for a while, until Meowth finished the Weedle off with one final Bite attack. "Aw. Well you won't have such luck against my Caterpie!" exclaimed the young trainer as he sent out his next Pokemon, a Caterpie. Maya noticed that the pokemon seemed strong, but hadn't evolved into their next level. She wondered if she could do that with her Meowth as well. She wanted it to be a Meowth, not a Persian. She'd just have to wait and see when that time came.
"Meowth, use Bite repeatedly!" exclaimed Maya as her Meowth jumped forward and latched onto the Caterpie. After a Tackle or two from the Caterpie, it just couldn't hold up anymore and fainted. With a sigh from Keigo, he withdrew his Caterpie and sent out yet another Weedle, hoping that it could take out the Meowth, not knowing that it wasn't Maya's only Pokemon.
The Weedle started out with Poison Sting, and Meowth dodged, using a powerful Scratch attack. It struck the Weedle directly, then it followed up with Tackle as Meowth used Bite. After a few powerful chomps from Meowth the Weedle went down. The trainer snapped in disappointment and tossed the prize money towards Maya, reluctantly. He ran off to go heal his Pokemon and Maya went on her way.

Just as she was heading down the path, another boy ran after her.
"Ricky and Squirt, battle ho!" he exclaimed as he approached Maya.
Maya laughed lightly and then sent out her Pikachu to battle. The picnicker Ricky then sent out his Squirtle.
"Chuuni, use Thundershock!" Maya commanded her Pikachu.
The Squirtle started off by blasting at the Pikachu with a powerful stream of water. Chuuni had lept forward and began to spin around the water stream and at the last moment jumped in front of it and used Thundershock, delivering a powerful amplified volt of electricity straight to the Squirtle, knocking it out instantly. Ricky congratulated Maya on her impressive battle skills, gave her some poke and went on his way.

As Maya walked along, she heard a more calming voice call out to her. "Hey. I heard you beat my friend Ricky. I'd like to see if you'd fare so well against me. My name's Nancy, by the way." said Nancy as she sent out her Rattata. Maya sent out her Meowth and decided to use her TM28 on Titus to teach it Dig. She did so and the battle commenced. It seemed like this would be a battle of cat and mouse.
Titus started out by using Fury Swipes to damage and trap the Rattata, then suffered from a Tackle attack, which freed the Pokemon, but Maya's Meowth re-captured it with Scratch, then finished it off with Bite. You could hear Nancy suck her teeth in disapproval as she recalled her Rattata. She then sent out her Pikachu. The Pikachu darted forward, using Quick Attack, it landed directly to the face of Meowth, knocking it backward. It slid and a cloud of dirt appeared, it grew larger and took some time to clear, but once cleared, only revealed a hole. "Pikachu, watch out! Below you!" exclaimed the trainer, knowing what was coming next. The Pikachu, however, seemed confused and just stared at her trainer. But once the Meowth sprung up from beneath it, delivering the final blow, it understood.
Nancy gave Maya her money and the both went their seperate ways.

Maya glanced impatiently towards the end of the path. She really hoped Vermillion City was at the end of this path, not another Route. As she walked blindly, she failed to notice a trainer tailing her. Maya heard the rustling of grass after a while and spun around to see who was there. It was a young boy.
"Hi! I'm Elijah, and I want to battle! You beat my friend Keigo back at the beginning of this Route, and now I'm going to beat you with my awesome . . . " he said, trailing off as he threw a pokeball into the air. "Butterfree!" as he said this, a red beam shot out of the ball and a decent sized Butterfree materialized.
Maya sent out her Belle. Belle spammed the attack Acid, rarely giving the Butterfree an opportunity to strike. It attempted to blow back the acid with Gust, but that only worked for a bit before Belle upped the ante and forcefully sprayed the Butterfree to the ground with a stream of Acid. The Butterfree was recalled and Elijah gave Maya her earnings and she went on her way.

Maya continued on her way . . . it seemed like it'd been forever since she first started on her trek alone . . . but she knew it hadn't been that long, and she'd just have to stay strong. Eventually another trainer approached her. "Let's battle!" she exclaimed as she sent out 3 Pidgey. Maya's brow furrowed as this seemed a bit unfair. But she could tell they weren't of a very high level.
Maya decided it'd be best to send out Chuuni, and did so. Chuuni very quickly finished up the battle with an array of Thundershocks. She took down them with ease, but at that moment a Spearow swooped down and pecked Pikachu right on the head.
Maya whipped around and called out to the Spearow "Hey! Unfair!" Chuuni then zapped it out of the air with a Thundershock, which suddenly gained a small amount of strength and blasted it down to the ground. Maya, wanting to give her Pokemon a break, called it back to the ball and sent out Titus. Maya could tell that was no wild Spearow. A trainer emerged from behind a tree and called out to Maya. "Look who's playing unfair now! Picking on my friend like that is unexcuseable!, they then sent out a Raticate that looked pretty strong. Maya hoped that Titus could handle it.
Titus started by digging into the ground, then slamming into the rat-pokemon from below. It seemed this was another game of cat and mouse. Titus then blasted forth with a myriad of Fury Swipes, suffering a Tackle attack afterwards. Titus, enraged at this point latched on with a powerful bite attack, causing the Raticate to faint.
Maya was handed her prize money from the battle, and headed towards the end of the Route. Upon getting there, she commenced into Vermillion City.

After meeting up with Wynter, they headed back to Cerulean City, but immediately after Yue's Pokemon were healed, he was off again! He really wanted to get some good training in. He felt like the training he'd done on Route 5 wasn't good enough. He wanted some trainers to come and face him. The fight/steel/psychic type trainer. Which is what he'd now finally decided on. He'd train only fighting, only steel, only psychic or just a combination of any of those two types as his Pokemon. Yue stepped on to Route 6 and called to all of the trainers around. "I'm betting that none of you can take down my three measly Pokemon. Even if you attacked all at once." he snickered at this, turning to Wynter, this was his preferred battling style, all out, all at once. Wynter gasped at this. "Yue! You're not going to take all of these opponents on at once, are you? You don't know who's present. Some of these trainers could be returning from other areas and could have far stronger Pokemon than you!" she scolded. "Ah, Winny, relax." he said giving her a humorous nickname. It appeared they'd grown close with their extended time spent in Cerulean.
Soon, several trainers approached Yue, sending out their Pokemon all at once, to try and teach Yue a lesson. He'd fight them all with one of his Pokemon at a time. The first of which would be . . . "Mankey! Come on out!" he cried as he threw his Pokeball into the air, releasing the Pokemon on to the field. Immediately two Caterpie rushed him, using Tackle, followed by a Weedle using a similar tactic, and a Squirtle following it up with Water Gun. The Mankey handled them quickly by using Rock Tomb to damage/trap them and then breaking the rocks for extra damage using Karate Chop. Then a Rattata and Butterfree rushed the Mankey and with a Low Kick and Rock Tomb, they were down as well, but with a strong looking Pikachu and a set of 3 Pidgey rushing the Mankey, he used Rock Tomb and Low Kick to finish of the Pikachu and at that point was exhausted. "Mankey. You did well. Looks like their's one trainer left. And with two Pokemon, it seems. Same as myself . . . Go, Alakazam!" he said as he withdrew his Mankey and sent out his Alakazam. The Alakazam then commenced to make quick work of the Spearow and Raticate, finishing the battle by tossing them into some tall grass, making a wave of Pidgey appear. There were probably about eight Pidgey, but Alakazam then made quick work of them as well, though suffering a bit of damage, he tossed them back into the shrubbery that they came from. But it seemed that they were only a fraction of the army of Pidgey contained within as a massive group of Pidgey then came out. Yue withdrew his Alakazam and sent out Metang to try and take care of the Pidgey, there seemed to be twice the amount of Pidgey as before as Yue had his Metang spam the attacks Confusion and Take Down, suffering a lot of damage as the battle went on. Yue had to even use both of his Super Potions to keep Metang going for the remainder of the battle. Pidgey now littering the field, Yue thought it best to actually head back to Cerulean and get some rest for now. He'd satisfied his battling desire for now, at least.
