So I had started these stories a while back, and started writing them for the last friday the 13th. I was unable to finish them because some things were going on, but I held on to them. I'd like to know what you guys think, and whether or not I should finish the others. heart

Twas the Night

An escaped psychopath steals a Santa suite, and wreaks terror on women...

It was another boring Christmas, and Cindy was stuck babysitting. She was already eighteen, yet her parents still forced her to watch her little sister. She sat and half watched the TV. There was nothing but infomercials on now. Some guy was blabbing about some miracle product to some ditsy bimbo. She turned and looked at the clock. Three in the morning… ugh! I could've gone to Missy's Christmas bash!!!

Her parents acted young for their age, and loved to go to parties. She was used to them going out on Christmas to a friend's party, but usually they had a babysitter already picked out. Just her luck! The old hag had to go and break her hip; forcing her to do her dirty work. And Michael was gonna be there…

She was in no mood to put up with her bratty sister, and luckily for her the little nuisance had already fallen asleep before her parents left. To think of it, her sister hadn't made a peep the whole time. Sure she was asleep, but she usually got up to go to the restroom or get some water. Her sister was the complete opposite of her. She was pretty and popular while her sister was nerdy and dorky. She still actually believed in Santa! Yeah, like an old man actually went around handing out presents. No one is that generous. She laughed to herself a bit.

Suddenly the screen went blank. The words "Newsbreak" appeared in big, bold letters on the TV. It switched to a woman, wearing too much make-up, sitting behind a desk. Cindy laughed a bit then got up and headed to the kitchen.

We apologize for the interruption, and we'll continue our regular programming in just a moment. There have been new developments in the break out from the Shady Hills Psychiatric Institution earlier. The patient has been identified as Edward Manning who is one of the more dangerous patients at Shady Hills. At approximately three thirty pm this afternoon, Manning stabbed two orderlies while they attempted to give him his daily medication. From this he proceeded to make his escape. At about six this evening, police found the body of thirty year old Tyler Penn who had been stripped of his Santa outfit. Authorities believe Manning was responsible for this murder and is hiding some where in the Victoria County area. They have advised that all citizens lock their homes and stay indoors until Manning is caught…

Cindy came back with a coke and a sandwich. She sat down and grabbed the remote; changing the station. Suddenly a crash was heard from outside. "Jinxy! That stupid cat probably got into the trash again." She got up and looked out the window. Snow fell like rain and she couldn't see a thing but trees. Damn cat… she's probably rummaging for some foo… She slowly stopped, a thought popped into her head. Wait… it's way too cold for her to be out there, and mom would have brought her in… Her heart nearly stopped when she looked at the cat's bed and saw her laying in it fast asleep. Don't panic, it was probably just a stray animal... She shivered a bit and began to pull the curtain over the window.

The phone rang, causing Cindy to scream and jump a little. After realizing how silly she was being she walked over and answered it. "Hello?" She managed to say. A man answered on the other line, "Yes hello, this is sheriff Lombard of the Victoria County Police Department..." Oh no, mom and dad!, she thought. "Umm, yes, hi sheriff..." The sheriff cleared his throat a bit before proceeding. "Yes hi ma'am, I'm calling all the residents in this area to let them know that there's an escapee from the insane asylum on the loose, and he's considered to be armed and dangerous. We'll be patrolling the area all night till we find him. Now what we're advising is that all residents lock all their doors and windows and call us if you see or hear anything."

Cindy gulped a bit. "Well sheriff... I thought I heard a crash outside... it may be nothing, but my mom and dad aren't home, and it's just me and my little sister. I guess I'm a little worried..." The sheriff's voice softened a bit. "Now there's no need to be worried young lady. ...Look, we'll send a couple of officers over and have a look around. If you're still feeling uneasy you and your sister can wait for your parents down at the station. How's that sound?" She sighed with relief; smiling. "Yes, thanks sheriff, that sounds like a good idea." The sheriff continued. "Alright well it'll take about thirty minutes in the storm to get to your location, just sit tight." With that he hung up.

Cindy put down the receiver and laughed at how incredibly childish she was being. She didn't need to go and wait for "mommy and daddy" at the station. When the police came to look around she'd politely decline the sheriff's offer and that'll be that. She heard Jinxy's bell collar jingle around. Feeling a little scared she thought she'd pick her up and hold her while she watched TV. She turned around and stopped cold as she saw Jinxy laying in the same position she had been earlier.

Maybe she shook her head a bit like she does when she’s trying to fling a bug off her face. Yeah, that must be it… Cindy laughed nervously at how silly she was being. There was a knock at the door. Already? It hadn’t even been ten minutes and they were already here? As she walked over to the front door she thought it might be her parents but then why would they be knocking?

She reached for the lock as she looked through the peephole and as she looked her blood ran cold. There’s no one there… She stopped and slowly backed away from the door. She may have been imagining things earlier but she had definitely heard a loud knocking on the front door! Tears started swelling up in her eyes. Now she was really scared!

A loud thump upstairs made her jump. “Anne..?” She called meekly. She slowly made her way to the stairs. “Anne…?!” She called with a little more authority. “Anne this isn’t funny, answer me!” She cried out, tears beginning to stream down her face. She cautiously walked up the stairs and turned towards her sister’s room.

“Anne please… please answer me…” She cried. As she approached her door she slowly pushed it open. Anne’s window was open; the cold air rushed in, bringing snow and dead leaves with it. “Anne…?” she managed to squeak as she walked towards her bed. Suddenly she looses her footing on some melted snow on the floor and falls on her sister’s red sheets.

Wait… Anne’s sheets are blue… she thinks as she lifts her head. Apparently some snow collected on her sheets and melted, soaking Cindy’s clothes; some of the water getting in her mouth. A metal-y taste filled her mouth as she looks over to her sister. Her eyes widen as she realizes it wasn’t snow.

Her sister lay in her bed, a huge gash in her chest. Cindy jumps up, covered in her sister’s blood, and screams at the top of her lungs. A low, maniacal laughter is her from behind her. She quickly turns to see a man dressed like Santa standing in the doorway. He was covered in dirt and blood, and he wielded an axe in one arm and a black garbage bag in the other.

“Hello, little girl…” the man says in a low and deep voice. “Have you been a good girl this year?” He says, laughing insanely. Cindy begins to cry uncontrollably. “Please… don’t hurt me…” The man twists his face in confusion. “But… don’t you want to be with your sister for Christmas!” He screams as he lifts his axe and swings it at Cindy who ducks and runs around him. The man spins around and grabs her by her hair.

“Aww… but you haven’t gotten your present!” He howls as he wraps his arm around her neck. Slowly he reaches around with his other hand and pulls the sharp end of the axe across her neck with great force; causing a sickening gurgling sound. Cindy’s lifeless and blood filled body falls to the ground; her eyes widened in horror.

The man smiles and laughs, “Merry Christmas to all… and to all a good night…” He howls again with laughter as he makes his way out of the house. For you see, Santa can’t stay for very long. How else can he punish all those naughty children in one night?

Alice

A girl gets a menacing call that seems to come from inside the house.

The autumn night air blew through the trees; making them sway from side to side, like dancing ghosts in the night. The moon was full and bright, and it covered the ground in a wave of silver. All was quiet in the neighborhood. Most people had gone to parties or trick-or-treating with their children.

Alice Hart sat in front of her TV; wearing her blue and white pajamas. She held a bowl of chips in her hand; plopping a few in her mouth from time to time. She sighed looking at the time. Eight o’clock, where is he? Suddenly the phone rang; causing her to jump. She laughed at how silly she was being. “Just the phone Alice, get a grip… probably just Nate.” She reached over and grabbed the phone off the hook. “Where are you and you better say out getting you the best present ever!” she said; laughing.

A scratchy voice answered, “Well it depends…” Alice stopped; embarrassed. Laughing she replies as she turns down the TV, “Wait, this isn’t Nate… who is this?” The man then mockingly replies, “Who’s this?” Continuing to laugh it off, “This is Alice, who are you calling for?” She then smiles to herself. Maybe it was one of the guys she had met at the club last weekend. They were all pretty cute, but she loved Nate and would have to politely decline.

The man chuckles a bit then replies, “I’m calling for you…” Alice grins, “Oh really?” The man laughs again, “What are you doing?” Alice begins munching on some chips again; resuming her former task, “Watching TV and waiting for my boyfriend to get here…” The man’s mood seems to drop, “Boyfriend? Bummer…” She giggles some, “Well he won’t be my boyfriend for long if he doesn’t get here soon…” She says; irritated.

The killer seems intrigued again,”I see… so what are you doing home alone on a Saturday night?” Alice stops eating her chips, “I never said I was home alone…” She begins looking around nervously. The man quickly responds, “I’m pretty sure you did…” Alice goes to look out the window, “No, no I didn’t…” The man flirtatiously replies, “Maybe I’m just a good guesser...”

Alice, becoming scared, “Yeah, well I should let you go…” The man’s voice becomes more menacing and angrier, “Don’t you dare hang up on me!” Alice becomes angry, “Screw you!” She yells into the receiver before slamming it down. She runs to make sure the door is locked and peaks out the peep hole. Suddenly the phone rings again. She cautiously answers it, “H-hello…?”

The man answers again, this time he screams, “Listen you little b***h, if you hang up on me again I will rip you open and hang you by your insides!” Alice begins to lose her composure, tears running down her cheeks, “What do you want from me…?” He chuckles again, “I want to cut open that pretty little chest of yours and tear out your heart!”

“Leave me alone or I’m calling the police!” The man laughs insanely, “They won’t make it in time because, like the dumb slut you are, you forgot to lock the back door!!!” Alice, in a panic, runs into another room. The man enters the back door, dressed in black, and wielding a giant knife. Tauntingly he yells, “Come out, come out, where ever you are…” As he makes his way around the house, he suddenly stops; something knocking him unconscious from behind.

Alice looks down at the man, a blank stare across her face. In her right hand she held a croquet mallet. “You didn’t want to play nice…”

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The man slowly begins to stir; his eyes having trouble focusing on his surroundings. His head pounds, but as he reaches to touch it he realizes he’s tied up. Groggily he asks, “Where am I…?” Almost appearing out of thin air, Alice steps from within the shadows, wearing a blue dress and a white apron. Her eyes were burning with a lust for blood, her mouth was twisted into an evil grin, and in her right hand she held a giant blade. “You’ve fallen into the rabbit’s hole, now you must pay the hatter…”

The man, tears running down his face, pleads, “Please, it was a joke! I swear, I wasn’t going to do anything to you, honest!” Alice begins to giggle eerily. “Yes, a joke, I see… well I guess the jokes on me!” She laughs. “…but now the joke’s over… let’s play a game, shall we?” She kneels down in front of him and slowly pushes the knife into his abdomen. He screams out in pain, and as the hilt reaches him, she swiftly pulls it out again.

She angles the blade and watches the blood drip from it slowly. “It wasn’t nice to play tricks… as your punishment you have to play with me…” She looks down at him. “Until your very last breath…” The man screams into the night air, with no one around to hear his cries but the trees and the moon.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Alice begins humming to herself as she washes the blood off the knife. Nate enters through the front door; carrying bags in with him. “I’m sorry babe; I know I’m late… I stopped by and picked up some movies along with you favor…” He stops, seeing her covered in blood. “Alice…. What happened?”

She turns off the water. “Some one played a mean joke on me…” She turns to him; drying off her hands. “I had to punish him…” Nate sighs a bit, “I thought you were going to stop after the last one...” He puts the stuff on the nearby table. She pouts as she wraps her arms around his neck. “This one asked for it… he tried to hurt me…”

She puts her head on his chest. He smiles and kisses her forehead. “Alright… but after this one, no more, got it?” She giggles and nods. “Ok, now how about you make the popcorn and I’ll set up the movie?” He says, smiling. She smiles, “Ok!” grabbing the popcorn off the table before she skips into the kitchen.

He smiles as he watches her skip off. He turns to grab a movie and is startled by a man crawling on the floor; covered in blood. The man reaches up for help. “Please… help me…” Nate looks over to Alice who is readying things in the kitchen, reciting her favorite poem. “How doth the little crocodile, improve his shining tail, and pour the waters of the Nile…”

He turns back to the man and kneels down. “Sure buddy, I’ll help you…” He grabs the top and bottom of his head and pulls hard till the man’s neck snaps. “There, all better…” He says grinning. Alice continues in the back, "How cheerfully he seems to grin, how neatly spreads his claws, and welcomes little fishes in, with gently smiling jaws…”

Terror on Interstate 9

A group of friends is traveling on an empty road and notices something following them…

It was late November, and the night air was pretty cold. Kyle leaned against the back of the car, waiting for his best friend Brian to get back with his girlfriend, Beth. The two of them had probably found some place to have sex. Beth had invited her friend Jennifer along, and the four of them where headed back from a party. The road was barren, and not a single car had passed since they stopped. Nothing was around but open dirt fields and some scattered trees. He looks over at Jennifer, who’s sitting on the hood of the car.

She shivers a bit. “Are you cold?” Kyle says, taking off his jacket; wrapping it around her shoulders. She smiles up at him, “Yes, thank you.” He sits down next to her, looking up at the night sky. The two of them sat on the hood of the car; quiet. Kyle looks over at her. “So… how long have you known Beth?” Jennifer thinks a bit, “It’s going to be about eight years. You, how long have you known Brian?” Kyle chuckles a little, “Since we were about five years old. Our moms are best friends, so we just kind of grew up together.” Jennifer laughs “Really, that’s pretty awesome.”

Beth and Brian appear out of the blanket of darkness that surrounded them, both smiling mischievously. Kyle shakes his head, “Can’t you two go an hour without fooling around?” Brian flips him the finger, “You’re just mad cause you don’t have a hot piece of tail like this!” He says while grabbing Beth’s butt. She squeals a little, before giggling and hitting him playfully, “Shut the hell up Brian!” The four of them laugh. Kyle hops off the car, and helps Jennifer down.

Brian walks over to Kyle, “We found an old abandoned power plant about half a mile from here; I figured we could all check it out.” Jennifer frowns a little. “I don’t know guys… that sounds kind of dangerous…” “Oh come on Jen!” Beth says, running over to Jennifer and grabbing her hand, “We have the guys with us, what could go wrong?” Brian grins, “Yeah Jen, don’t be such a buzz kill.” Kyle punches Brian in the arm, “Leave her alone man, she doesn’t wanna go.”

Jennifer thinks for a second, “No, he’s right…” She looks up and smiles, “Let’s go.” Kyle looks at her with concern, “You sure Jen?” She nods her head, he looks over to Brian, “Alright… but if anything funny starts to happen, we leave, ok?” Brian chuckles, “Yeah sure, whatever, let’s go already!” He grabs Beth’s hand and pulls her along. Jennifer and Kyle follow along closely.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Thirty minutes passed, and the four had finally reached the power plant. Jennifer wrapped her arms around Kyle’s arm. He looks down at her, and smiles warmly, “Hey, don’t worry; I won’t let anything happen to you, ok?” She looks up at him, and smiles nervously. “Ok.” She manages to say. Brian jumps the fence and unlocks the gate from the other side. The others enter through and look around. Brian and Beth take out a couple of flashlights and turn them on, giving some light to guide them through the darkness. They were in awe at all the different machinery that lined the walls. It looked like something out of a sci-fi movie.

They were about to head deeper in when Beth stopped cold in her tracks, staring at something in the darkness. Brian turns and looks at her, “What is it babe…” He stops, seeing what it is that had her so scared. Kyle puts his arm out, as to block Jennifer from harm. All four of them stared in shock and terror across the way. There stood what looked like a naked man. He had grey skin, stood at about six or seven feet easily, and had red glowing eyes. The man stood, glaring the four of them down.

No one dared move, not knowing if this man was crazed or not. He was obviously sickly, with patches of what looked like dead skin all over his body. His finger nails were un-naturally long, and his reproductive organs were missing. The man stood, glaring at them for a few seconds longer, a low growl in his throat, before turning and walking away into the darkness of the plant. Everyone stood in shock, not believing or knowing what it was they had just seen. Beth was the first to speak, “Wha… what was that…?” Kyle shook his head, “I don’t know, but I think we better get the hell out of here before he comes back.” The others agreed, and the four of them hurried through the gate.

They ran the whole way back, making it to the car in about fifteen minutes. All four of them jumped into the car, with Kyle and Jennifer in the back. No one spoke for a good ten minutes. “It looked like he had wings on his back…” Jennifer said softly. “Don’t be stupid, it had to have been some kind of disease… it was probably just dead skin or something…” Beth shivers a bit, “Ugh, can we talk about something else; the whole thing just makes my skin feel itchy!” She turns on the radio, and takes out her nail filer.

Kyle puts his hand on Jennifer’s, “It’s alright Jen; your mind was probably just playing tricks on you. We’re ok now, there’s no way he could have followed us.” She nods and lays her head on the window. “What the...?!” Brian slams on the breaks, causing everyone to jolt forward in their seatbelts. His eyes are open wide in terror as he sees the sick man standing in the middle of the road. Beth smacks him in the arm, “What is your damage Brian, that wasn’t funny!” “Shut up!!!’ He yells at her and points forward, “Tell me, is or is that not the freak we saw earlier?!”

Everyone looks out the window. Jennifer clasps her hands over her mouth, muffling a scream. “Oh my god, is he stalking us?!” Beth asks, irritated. Kyle leans forward, “Come on man, let’s just drive around him and keep going, we’ve got just a few miles till we get to town. Brian unbuckles his seat belt, “Screw that man, I’m gonna teach this b*****d a lesson!” He puts the car in park, and swings the door open. He grabs the bat under his seat and begins walking over to the guy.
“Damn it, he’s going to get himself killed… Wait here, I’m going to go get him…” Before Kyle could move he stared in horror as the man leaped onto Brian, and began digging his teeth into his neck. Brian screams in agony, blood spurting from his throat. The creature spread its wings as he fed, flapping them wildly as Brian’s screams dulled into a low gurgling sound, and he stopped moving. “Oh my god, no, Brian!!!!” Beth begins screaming in hysteria. Jennifer sits in panic, tears streaming down her face. Kyle was in shock, not knowing what he should do. He quickly gets out of the car, and sits in the driver’s seat. He puts the car in drive, and floors past the creature and Brian’s now lifeless corpse.

The creature latches on to the side of the car as it passes by, breaking the window with his fist. The girls scream as Kyle swerves from side to side, trying to shake it off of the car. Beth grabs her nail filer and stabs the creature in its arm. “b*****d!!!” It howls in pain and begins to claw at her. Kyle loses control of the car and crashes full speed into a tree on the side of the road.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The next day, the Sheriff of a nearby town responded to reports of a man wandering the interstate a few miles away. When found, Kyle was in a state of shock and panic. Further down the road, the cops found a car crashed into a tree with the ravaged remains of Beth inside. Her body had been ripped apart and looked like some kind of animal had been feeding on her.

Kyle told police of the horrifying ordeal. Although the police have searched the entire area, no sign of Brian or Jennifer was ever found. Kyle was never the same, and had to be institutionalized for his erratic behavior. He says that the creature stalks him, and told him that the moment they laid eyes on it, they belonged to it. According to Kyle, at night it peers through the window, waiting for him to fall asleep. Waiting, he says, to take what belongs to it.
