How much longer do you think you'll be buying CV games for?
I'll be old and wrinkly before I give CV up!
  Hmm, maybe 50 years tops?
Probably for the next 25 years and I'll be done.
I doubt I'll still be buying them after 10 years.
I might still buy a few good ones for the next 5 years.
I'm just gonna keep playing the ones I got now.
What's the use? The world's gonna end in 2012! lol

Hello everyone!

There was an official thread for questions of almost any kind (except for game help, there's already a sub-forum for that) but it became inactive and there were quite a few members who had no idea what kind of questions had been asked before; this lead to the same questions being posted on completely new threads.
To avoid the same thing from happening, the previous thread was moved to the archives (where only mods can still check it out, sadly enough) and this thread has been opened to replace it. This thread shall be updated whenever it needs to, depending on the activity of the guild, a question shall be valid for a day, a week or an entire month.
I want to make it perfectly clear that anyone can post a question here as long as it's not help related. To start us off, how about a question a friend of mine asked me a while back. A friend who has been here since before I joined and whom I've come to like very much. That friend I'm talking about hasn't been here often as of late and her user name is Koemiko.

Ok, here's her question:

What are the moral dilemmas a Belmont has to face before having to go up against Dracula?

Has anyone ever thought about this? I sure haven't!

Note:
If you ever want to post a question, try not to do so in a separate thread. This is why this thread exists. You can post anything along the lines of:

* Have you noticed this?
* Which CV games are made in a certain way?
* Should there be a CV game for "X" console?
* "X" character versus "Y" character, who would win?
* Which game for whichever console is the best?
* and anything that's NOT help related like: "How do I get past (insert name here)?" and alike.

Please help keep our guild forum's neat and tidy. If anyone has help related questions, please post them at the sub-forum cuz I'll be checking it once each week and if your question can't wait, please PM one of the mods. I check my PMs daily so I may be able to help and if I can't I can relay yer question. If you have questions about the CV films (animated or live action), please note that there's already a thread for that so please post there.
Also, if you happen to be answering an old question, please specify which question, or questions, you are answering. Thanks!

I'll be updating this thread constantly on the second post so that everyone can know which questions have been asked already so, don't be bashful and ask us pretty much anything! 3nodding

About 3 or 4 = 0%[ 0 ]

"Questions Summary"

Page "2"; 2 questions posted:

1. Do you have any CV pet peeves?
2. Do you like CV games better in 2D or in 3D?

Page "3"; 4 questions:

1. Are we out of ideas?
2. Have you ever played a CV BMG on an instrument you own?
3. How many of you have played Haunted Castle before?
4. Have you ever had a CV related dream?

Page "4"; 2 questions by Greenk4

1. We've ALL seen how a few specific games in the series do not have Dracula as the final boss, Aria and Dawn of Sorrow let us play as Neo-Dracula but you could fight him in DoS. LoI made us fight death. What does everyone think of this? Should they stick to the new formula or continue to find ways around Dracula?

2. Should they consider making a 3rd "Of Sorrow" game?

Page "5"; 3 questions:

1. Do you think there's a deeper meaning to CV music than we could possibly imagine?
2. What was the first vampire screen play, and what do you guys think of it?
3. Have you been to any of the sub-forums lately?

Page "6"; 1 question:

We all have a favorite sub-weapon, right? Well, most of us at least...
So here's the question: If you could modify yours, how would you do it so that it could be the very best that it could be?

Page "7"; 1 question:

How would you like it if the whole Castlevania story was more closely related to actual history instead of more fantastic like how it currently is? This last question kind of turned into "what if there was a game with a more realistic game play, story and weapons?"

Page "8"; 1 question:

I'm sure most of us know about Richter posing as the bad guy in SotN but, have you ever stopped to consider what would happen if a Belmont was actually the bad guy on a CV episode? I mean, Richter had someone controlling his mind but what if there was an actual Belmont be in charge of resurrecting Dracula or better yet, just take over the whole villainous plot all by him/herself?

I've seen a continuing trend of Dracula stealing their bride/wife/fiance/friend/children/teacher and in some occasions brainwashing them into evil/corrupting them otherwise. So in short, most are out for revenge.

Well that's all fine and dandy but I'm sure that Koemiko had in mind something different when she thought of that question.

Warning! The next paragraph contains spoilers for those who haven't played Portrait of Ruin yet.

I'm thinking that the moral dilemmas varied from Belmont to Belmont, right? I'm sure than nonBelmont heroes must have had at least one, especially Jonathan Morris! I mean, he certainly had to learn to fight on his own but, how is that for a dilemma? Well, maybe there's the fact that his dad never told him how to fight with the whip in case there was ever need for it. Sure, maybe John Morris never wanted his kid to use it cuz he must have been quite overprotective but still.

End of spoilers.

THe real person motivated by Revenge is Dracula/Matthias himself, the stories are mostly about him and his war against the Belmont clan than the other way around, ie hes the Lead role of the games when the belmonts each have smaller roles

Mmm. I think a lot of the time a Belmont has to come up with moral dilemmas. Revenge is a big factor, admittedly ("Dracula took my girlfriend!"), but I think you see a lot of dilemmas involving things like not saving the girl in time, or maybe you have to kill someone you're good friends with (see: Maria, Richter, Maxim, Annette, Soma...)

That's a good question my dear but you should have waited till next week to post it. sweatdrop
Frankly, I don't know what they're waiting for... rolleyes

Those are very good dilemmas K!
I'm surprised nobody has really answered that question yet. Sure, Jin was the only one who mentioned revenge but that's about it.
You know, I think the only CV game that gave a Belmont a unique motive for revenge was the second one for the monochromatic game boy. I mean, even the subtitle was "Belmont's Revenge" for goodness sakes. I keep wondering if Christopher had to mentally prepare himself for that battle. Especially the one against his own son!

And let's not forget the fear factor. Belmonts seem to have lots of courage, or at least some courage, even if reluctant... I wonder, though, if they ever get scared? Possibly things that keep them awake while they rest in the area where you can save your game...

I seem to remember discussing about that on the CV movie thread. If you check it out you might find some info about it, not sure though...
Yer definitely not the only one who hasn't heard a peep about that animated film, that's fer damn sure.

I suppose the floor is open for another new question, I guess. mrgreen

I don't know if anybody knows that. What should be interesting to know is if we would all like to see a sequel to DoS.
I really doubt a neighbor of mine would since he pretty much hated the Sorrow games.
However, I'm pretty sure most of us here liked them. Am I right?
The question is, will a sequel ever be released? Who knows...

According to Mr.P's, there's a novel chronicling events after DoS (link here).
