This is where you can give a brief summery about yourself. I'd like to keep rate/rank out of this, so we all can talk semi-anonymously (I'm not one for rank pulling out of duty). So here's an example:
Hi! I'm Tom. I'm a Hospital Corpsmen currently stationed in Camp Lejeune, NC with the Marines. We're currently waiting word on when our deployment is, and it looks like either Afghanistan or Iraq. I enjoy some of those crazy sick call patients that make me feel like Dr. House sometimes (of course none of which I can say, with HIPA and all). Can't say I'm fond of the admin work though, mostly PHA's.
So, make forums and keep em' kosher! If you see something you're offended by, or you think is questionable, please let me know, and I'll deal with it ASAP. Thanks, and Welcome Aboard!

We're originally from Nevada (a little town called Fernley). I personally grew up in a military lifestyle (my dad was a marine), and i enjoy the benefits of it as im always needing to go to the clinic for somethine or other.

Hi. I'm Jennifer. I'm a Navy vet. When I was in, we were still called WAVES. It changed to WINS when I was about half way through. I'm glad to see alot of barriers broken down now.
Any shipboard duty that I could have seen was limited to training carriers and tenders. rolleyes
I was a RM (Radioman), that rate doesn't exist in the Navy now. My son, and a daughter of my heart are in the Navy now. My son is a Nuke MM, and my domh is AM - I think that's the rate designation - Aviation Mechanic. She's stationed in HI, he's in SC still in training. He's planning on going sub rather than surface fleet. Not sure I like that, but it's his choice.
I met my husband in England, he was a RM also, but had to change to CT to finish up his tour in England rather than go to sea for the last couple of months he was in. I don't think CT's are around any more either. I think RM, DP and CT have all been combined, but I'm not sure what the rate is now. All three of the rates dealt with communications.

My son is currently in SC doing the nuke thing. He's in prototype right now. He might be tapped for ELT training. I don't think he really wants it, but that's life.
He's an MM. He has also be recommended to be an instructor for MM A school.
We are very proud of him.

hi!! im a soon to be navy wife. I recently just visit my fiance in sasebo (japan) it was the best visit in my life. the reason were not rushing into marriage so I can be with him sooner is because he is only going to be stationed in japan for 4 more months. after that he will be station in san diego (california) than we will be able to be together.

Hi, I'm an Electronics Technician (Nuke), currently in Power School in Goose Creek, SC.
@Amazing mamu, I believe Radioman was combined with ET (Conventional), and I believe CT is still it's own rate...

My step brother, who's a marine, should be there at johnson in oct, but I'm sure you'll be gone before that. If you end up still here, or are, hit me up! Who're your instructors anyway?

Hi. My older brother is in the Navy currently. He is on a deployment on the USS Ronald Regan (CVN76). He's involved in fixing planes and all of that (forgot what it was called! Ha!). Anyway, he signed up for 4 years, I think he has one more year left in the Navy and he gets home! Woo!
