Here with Crystal Chains; a Role Playing Guild, we have a base set of rules that applies to all fields of the guild. Please take your time to read this.□ Ownership «□□
Because this is a varied role playing guild, we would like to set some ground rules about ownership of the role plays. When you are going to make a role play, keep in mind that the moderators will be there to inspect to make sure that the role play follows the guidelines. We will not impose our leadership on you, because you are the head of the role play, but please keep us in mind when you are starting a new role play. Also, we enforce the following rules. If you have personal preferences against these rules, contact one of the captains or co-captains of your change and we will allow your adjustment to a certain degree. For example, we encourage creative ideas to encourage the owner for plot twists; if you have a problem with that, contact us and we will let you do as you please. However, don’t take this as your ticket to break the rules. We are quick to catch onto things.
□ Literacy «□□
I know that most people have their own preferences of literacy, and I know that a lot of people look at this and say ‘I have to write 20348547853 paragraphs. I know’ but, as a guideline, we’d like to keep things in the range of semi-literate to semi-advanced. By definition, the term ‘semi-literate’ stands for one paragraph at the very least. When we say ‘semi-advanced’ this could very well mean several paragraphs a post or very detailed shorter paragraphs. Regardless, we aim for fun, not for insanely large novellas. If you have any specific requests for a particular role play, please contact the owner of the role play. If you are making a role play and have a specific request of literacy, please make sure that your request is prominent in your introductory statements.
□ Activity «□□
This is a big issue. We don’t want people showing up for minutes and then dropping off of the face of the planet. We have a thread in the main bulletin area that is used for absences. If you intend on being away for an extended amount of time, please contact the moderators and also post a message in that thread. We understand that there is life outside the electronic computer world, but we would greatly appreciate it if you were telling us when you were leaving. When it comes to being an active person on Gaia, if you are online, we’d like you to check in at least once during the day. If you do not post within a week and have not left the moderators or the owner of the role play a note of your absence, you will be removed from the guild. It is important to keep things moving, and we are unfortunately only as fast as the slowest runner.
□ Applying «□□
When you are interested in applying, please take note of these few short ideas. We want to keep things tidy. When you are interested in joining a role play, contact the owner of the role play about joining and be ready with a sample of your role play. The owner will then decide whether or not you are ‘worthy’ of joining. If you pass this test, you may then use their profile skeleton and put your character in your Portfolio that you would create when you join our guild (See thread for more details). When your profile is finished, contact the owner with a link to your finished product and they then will inspect to make sure that your character fits the criteria.
□ Ideas «□□
Be creative. Feel free to contact the owners of role plays with ideas unless told other wise. We are all learning students in this environment; we can certainly learn from one another’s style and ideas. We all love a good twist to a role play so, as long as you don’t turn everything 180 degrees in the other direction, you should be pretty set to go. Contact the owners of the role plays for more information.
□ IC Posts «□□
We all have personal preferences about the posts. As a basic guideline; DON’T STRETCH THE PAGE. Depending on the owner’s preference, you may or may not be able to go creative with your posting designs. When it comes to posting in the role play, please use quotation marks when you wish to speak, and italic lettering when you wish to think. The better the English grammar, the easier it is for most to understand. We also wish to say that typos are not welcome. We understand a slip up or two but please try to keep things correct.
□ Hierarchy «□□
We are all in this together. But please remember that there are times for fun and times for business. If you have any issues or dilemmas, contact one of the moderators. We are here for you. We want you to have a good time. We are able to step in as the peace makers and power takers if push comes to shove; its part of the reason we are called moderators.
□ Fun «□□
The last and most important rule of them all is to have fun. No one likes a grouch, so we would like to make this as fun and enjoyable as possible. Happy Role Playing.
