People play for fun, to win, for money, and so on.

Besides this, we all have fave colors we like for one reason or another, or one or more we identify with. It may be something like the feeling of bouncing permanents, or a deeper feeling of belief in that colors philosophy.

Why do you play the color(s) you do, or lack thereof (artifact)?

I love Red as my first. Burning away the enemy has always been my favorite thing to do in magic, just dealing damage. The best part is when you can destroy everything they have, then burn to oblivion.

White is my second fave. It prevents unfavored events from unfolding, and can banish or destroy the enemy. I love to ruin someone's plan with white, letting pour as many resources at me as they can before the end.

mono color wise? probably green, i enjoy the mana accel and beat sticks. multicolor wise i enjoy playing artifacts with heavy blue supporting...ironically with little or no counter spells which is one of the big things for blue.

Indeed. I hate counter spells. I hate to use counter spells. Just seems too cheap to me. Most I ever run is four, and only to of my decks do it, my right-now-dismantled-U, and my UR.

I have more limited counters in other decks, like Bant Charm.

My primary color is Green. Why? It just appeals to me. Green is adaptable, making it's creatures bigger, multiplying it's numbers, increasing it's mana production, not only in amount, but in color. Although it lacks counter spells, aside from multicolored green cards, Green has an answer to most problems. Artifacts and Enchantments? Naturalize! Need a Chump Blockers? Sprout or Flash Foliage! Planeswalker? Desert Twister! Shadow? Reality Anchor! Land Destruction? Recollect and Llanowar Elves! (two different ways of dealing there)

okay, Green may not be perfect, it can run slow compared to a nice Blue or Red deck, but it's just so much fun to PLAY!

my spellbomb deck runs 3 or 4 quash just to mess with most control decks, "what? you counter my salvagers? i counter your counter! get them all out of here...ALL OF THEM! ROAR"

I like red. I just like that you usually have something to do every turn that gets you closer to winning the game, instead of waiting for someone else to do something you can respond to (blue...).

I almost always play green. with the right starting hand, I can go from 0 to 20 (creatures) in a few rounds, and make them all huge. My favorite green combo is two Vigor and a pestilence (even though it's black). It takes some life, but all your creatures get +*/+*. The * being the damage done times two, because of the Vigors' effect.

My second favorite color is white, and more specificaly, the Leonin. My white/artifact deck does not have as many creatures as most white ones out there, because of the sheer amount of equipment. A Rakasha, Golden cub with 15+ equipment is more htan a match for any deck.

I also like to play multicolored, especially with slivers. I have a sliver deck that has devastating effect.

Red/black for a few reasons. Red because burn is effective and goes "over" creatures, while black is removal for creatures on the ground.

I also enjoy black as a standalone when you can do a lot of graveyard manipulation. I run a deck with Phage as a wincon, and the deck is mostly removal. It scares me though to know there's potential in me royally getting screwed against cheap spells like Momentary Blink. Two untapped plains could essentially be the end of any strategy I have running Phage.

My favorit deck to play is prob my Red Goblin deck. It's basically a suicide rush/swarm Goblin war strike. Kind of like a cruel military

I love playing green because i like the look on people's face right before they get stomped on. but i like playing magic using styles and tecneques that no one uses. so i tend to not do the "swarm and beef" or "mana accel and beatdown" strategies, i like to play out of left field, where no one expects it. no one expects to see a green deck drawing like there's no tomorow then playing Myojin of Life"s Web and putting down a metric s**t ton of fatties in one turn.
That's why i like blue as well, blue has a power that no other color really has, DRAW POWER. i love to draw cards. in my oppinion, every deck could run better if it drew more cards. goblin decks would never run out of goblins, burn decks would never run out of spells. green decks would become so powerful that nothing could stop them.
blue makes everything better.

dude no offence but slivers are for nubes. it takes little to no skill to make a deck with these cards. i mean there are a few combos with the slivers that give you infinite mana and infinite damage. this consists of sliver queen that has the important ability to spawn a 11 sliver token for 3 colorless, gemhide that allows all slivers to tap for one mana of your chosen color, reflex sliver that gives all slivers haste, basal sliver that gives all slivers the ability to sac itself for 2 black, and finally a card like ferocious assault or any card of your choosing that reads anything like whenever a creature comes into play you may deal 1 damage to target creature or player.

this works by paying the 3 initial mana to get one 1/1 sliver token. this triggers the card ability to deal one damage to the other player. then you tap it for one mana (remember it gets haste from reflex sliver) then sac it for an additional 2 black. use the 3 mana that you just got to spawn another 1/1 sliver token. and continue this pattern untill all other players either die or quit from sheer discust from the lack of skill it took to win.

this also applies to my really cheap combo of pox and and angles grace. when I play 3 of my pox at the same time all abilities resolve at the same time. pox reads: all players discard 1/3rd of their hand, sacrifice 1/3rd of their land, sacrifice 1/3rd of there creatures, and lose 1/3rd of there life, rounded up. when all 3 are played AT THE SAME TIME all players lose 3/3rds of there life rounded up. this is when you also IMMEDIATELY play angles grace. it is a split second so it is the last card on the stack. so no card you just played can be countered. the second important ability readsyou can not lose the game this turn.

slivers are cheap and morally wrong. so stop using them.

personally I run solid black. the point of the deck is to kill indestructible creatures and creatures with protection from black. yes I understand this sound weird, but trust me it is still completely within the rules of the game.

I also run green that has verdant force and titanic ultimatum/ overrun. I do realise that the deck isnt entirely green. but there are only a few non green cards in it.

I agree burn the enemy and heal yourself, Not only that but red has alot of haste creatures and white has life link so haste+life link=good stuff for me

Calling people noobs isn't nice... in any case, slivers fall to field removal, so a good defensive deck can easily contend with them. Hell, a good aggro deck can contend with them.

Also, you can't actually kill anyone with pox unless their life is at least 2; and with 3 they would have to at least be at 7 life or less.

The one sliver queen combo you mentioned sounds good, but requires too many components to be all that useful since with the right sliver deck your opponent should already be dead in the amount of time it takes you to construct that scenario

I run an artifact deck.
The focus is to use my cheap/free creatures in combination to defend or in most cases wound my opponent,With my Urza's land, It does make the higher cost cards real easy to get, its nice being able to put a 0/2 with flying out, and for four mana play and equip cranial plating and lightning grieves to it, and untapping it for two more mana. Then, if I don't manage to kill them off, I like to use darksteel forge with nevinyrrals disk and Mycosynth lattice to destroy their entire field. not to mention equiping my two dead iron sledges to myr retrievers and using them as either blockers for when they are indestructible, or using them one at a time so that I can keep getting them killed returning the other, rinse, repeat. Plus mana web and defense grid are in it too so that my opponent doesn't get too frisky with his/her instants, and mycosynth golem is there too so that Its even easier to play creatures. And I have a clockwork dragon to buff with the ridiculous amount of mana I can produce.
