There say there are 40 'plane' cards for this new kind of format. I was looking at the art for some of them (I only found three). Looks like we're visiting Serra's Realm, the Maelstrom on Alara, and the other looks like a shadowed, deep running alley on Ravnica.
I wonder how this format will work, and what kind of effects those cards will have on gameplay. Ravnica or Alara must be tied to colors, I'm sure.

Indeed. I'm going to buy one to see. There must at least be interesting cards in one.

I'll probably buy at least one set. It sort of reminds me of the LotR card game, where you start at the Shire, and end up at Mordor with 9 location cards, each one with its own effect, which could help the party, or help the goblins/nazgul/etc.
So hopefully it'll be pretty cool. I hope the effects are pretty original though, I hope they're not just functional reprints of global enchantments.

If these cards do what I think they do, this is going to be neat-o.

They actually posted some pictures about Planechase. Link: http://www.wizards.com/Magic/Magazine/Article.aspx?x=mtg/daily/arcana/234I wonder what Ravnica's Izzet effect will be... We will be visiting Phyrexia, Ravnica, Serra's Realm, The Maelstrom, Grixis, Lorwyn (I think), Dominaria, and more. The Deck colors and Names: Elemental Thunder (RG) Metalic Dreams (U) Strike Force (RW) Zombie Empire (B, though looks like could also be U and/or Artifact)

ALRIGHTY!
So, I've had mine for almost a week, played it a few times ~ & decided it's a great game smile
- The generally accepted format thus far has been using all 41 cards in a master deck to keep things simple. ~ Works just as good. - though, I can clearly see how building a deck to function with these cards is possible, it's just not all that powerful. Strictly casual concepts, no OP combo's really (unless you really want to put a gawdafull amount of effort into it) ~
So

i think that serra's realm sucks. i had out, godsire, vesera the dreadfull, progenitus and ancent ooze. that hit the field and i just drooped. they then proceeded to walk off the plane and blow all of my hard work to hell. the next plane was grixis so it wasn't all bad. lol
good game overall.

I picked up all 4 (my cat-like curiosity got the better of me). I like the art, I'm intrigued by the mechanics...but I want to find other stuff to do w/ the plane cards. I also want to try and include the dice in a normal game...no idea how, but I think it'd be real neat. 4laugh

i've got three so far and i love them it changes every thing and just for fun it unnecessarily complicates every thing. and there are more than whats in the plane chase deck sets from special events but i can't find them but you really can use these cards just for certain decks and double the power of it. so far my favorite ones are glimmervoid basin, immerstrum, isle of vesuva, murasa, and sokenzan. but the two i totally hate are naar isle and lethe lake they pretty much screw every one
