The private Ouran institute lineage counts first, money a close second. The wealthy are blessed with idle hours and six handsome, especially idle students have formed the host club to entertain females also burdened by a surfeit of leisure time.

Hikaru left the classroom for Music Room 3 where the club was. Kaoru was in the bathroom and told Hikaru to go ahead of him.
Haruhi went to pick something up.
Everyone else was a different/higher grade.
Hikaru noticed Kyoya.
"Oi! Kyoya! Where's Milord? He's not with you?"

"Nope, he went to find Haruhi... he'll never learn"
with an evil glare he turned away and thought (like she'll ever fall for him)

The doors swung open to Music Room 3, but something was missing... PEOPLE!!!... Hikaru and Kyoya were the only ones in the Host Club headquarters...

Nekozawa made himself comfy on one of the couches in the dark room without the recognition of the co-captain himself... He quietly talked to Beelzenef so no one could hear.

Kirimi who had just popped in the room behind Kyoya, after seeing Hikaru shine the light in her brothers face ran up and pulled the hood tightly back over his head.
"Why are you being mean to my brother? *sniffles* its just not nice..."
The little kindergardener tightly hugged her brother while making a pouty face at Hikaru
