I'm slowly donating gold to the guild so we can have another sub-forum. Is there a specific topic anyone is interested in? Something that will get everyone posting more? Just post your ideas here, and then we'll vote on it smile

I can't think of anything at the moment. As it is if we did need more room we could move topics and place vampires/witches/Christianity forum together. Guild research has shown that more successful guilds don't have more then five sub forums.
Here is a sample of my other guild extra subforums beyond that of the main discussion.

Yeah... maybe... but I have this OCD thing were everything has to be in it's own area... so I can't combine... I guess I could do an "assorted creatures" forum, and if any one thing stands out give it it's own sub-forum in the future...

That could be helpful but many topics blend in to each other anyway. Some times it more annoying to jump from sub forum to subforum to find the right conversation then it is file them away separately.

Eiko Kyaruoru Yeah... maybe... but I have this OCD thing were everything has to be in it's own area... so I can't combine... I guess I could do an "assorted creatures" forum, and if any one thing stands out give it it's own sub-forum in the future... I understand how you feel (I'm quite obsessive-compulsive, myself). If I thought it would work well, I'd also suggest that we give each occult creature its own subforum. However, I just don't think that would be very efficient. It might be a good idea to give the most (in)famous occult creatures their own subforums (vampires, werewolves, witches and warlocks, etc.), but it may be a waste of space. These are my current suggestions for subforums: 1) Occultism in Lore and Legend 2) Occultism in Classical and Contemporary Literature 3) Occultism in Film, Television, and Video Games 4) Writings, Poems, and Pictures 5) Roleplaying 6) Member Discussion 7) Crew Discussion Or: 1) Vampires 2) Werewolves 3) Witches and Warlocks 4) Other Occult Creatures 5) Roleplaying 6) Member Discussion 7) Crew Discussion Personally, I'd prefer the former, but the latter may better suit your tastes. Whatever you decide to do, I suggest you heed Gorenza's advice (I think he has more experience managing a guild than either of us, but since I don't know you very well, I don't know that for sure). Also, if you need gold to help manage the guild, I will gladly donate.

I prefer the former version of NoLifeKing66's form suggestion as well. Well placed sticky's in the subforums will allow the threads to stay uncluttered all the while giving the wide selection of topics you desire.

we need to make these forums as braod as possible so they cover a lot of area. some subjects, like ufos for instance, don't really fir into a contemporary "occult" setting (well, unless you can link them like me). but some other subjects just don't fit.

Honestly, I think we should switch the subject from "the occult" to "the paranormal". That way, it encompasses everything we might want to discuss: the supernatural, the metaphysical, folklore, mythology, cryptozoology, and ufology. Otherwise, it would only be appropriate to discuss aliens and UFOs when relating them to the occult. When discussing aliens and UFOs in general, it'd be a little off-topic.

That's and excellent idea. I would hate to think Ledlins contributions would derail any given topic. With this paranormal topic he should have the freedom to express thoughts regarding UFO's with out a back lash.
UFOlogy, I haven't heard of that term before. Sounds about right.
Ledlin what is the term that encompasses all alien life forms and space craft?

Ledlin what is the term that encompasses all alien life forms and space craft? Ufology is a neologism coined to describe the collective efforts of those who study unidentified flying object reports and associated evidence. The study of alien life, on the other hand, is an actual scientific field referred to as astrobiology or, alternatively, xenobiology. That being said, I'm beginning to think that expanding the guild's subject from "the occult" to "the paranormal" may not be such a good idea. The problem is that "the paranormal" may be a bit too broad a subject. I mean, we're already having a enough trouble deciding how to better organize our guild, and we're only dealing with "the occult". Besides, do we really want people discussing Bigfoot and Nessie alongside vampires and werewolves? As unfortunate as it might be, I think we may have to limit Ledlin to his knowledge of paranormal and occult hypotheses about UFOs and related phenomena.

True. It all depends on how we handle it. How about we put the paranormal idea on the back burner for now. As we grow in post we will see how we can best utilize the prospect.

that was kind of my point. paranormal is an extremly broad term. anything not "normal" is hence "para-normal". This pretty much emcompases this whole guild. I understand the need to be specific and I can hold off on the UFO stuff until we get it worked out. xp

Sorry. sweatdrop Anyway, I think it's weird that we don't have a "Werewolves" subforum, yet.

Not talk about Nessie? And Bigfoot? I had kind of always considered them in the same area of all the other occult critters too... Mostly I guess 'cause I was basing this guild off of shows like "Charmed" "Buffy" "The X-files" and "Supernatural" and they kind of cover all kinds of creatures..
