--At the base of a dormant volcano and nestled in amongst the forest lay the refuge of the Thayne-Xyleea clan. It was a modest inn complex consisting of a main house for guests and the humanoid family, a stable for whatever beasts of burden a guest should bring by, and a network of caves for any wyrm visitors that happened to drop by. Aliscia and Kivon are the ultimate human authority as the owners, and their bonded wyrms, Xyleea and Thayne, keep a watchful eye on the premises.--
The sun had just risen above the horizon when Aliscia was wakened by Xyleea's insistent nagging at the back of her mind. Careful not to rouse her sleeping husband as she got out of bed, the woman tossed on her clothes and scurried out to the caves to see what was troubling her bonded.
The wind wyrm was curled up in her sandpit with her mate, her massive head resting on Thayne's warm back. Alinta says that Ravea is troubled again. Xyleea said quietly, careful not to rouse the sleeping fire wyrm beside her.
Aliscia sighed and ran a hand across her tired eyes. "Well, that's nice, but Ravea isn't here. She and Alinta left two days ago," she pointed out, yawning widely. How ridiculous was this?! Her bonded was trying to pass on a message from someone too far distant for Aliscia to-
They returned last night. Ravea has been feeling increasingly more ill, and Alinta did not want to call out for fear that Thrynor, and thus Raveo, overhear. The boy twin will not be pleased to know of Ravea's condition. He is still working to find the spy at the town and has not been told of her bond with the human boy. Thayne's deep voice rumbled in Aliscia's mental 'ears,' nearly knocking her over with the force of it.
Aliscia recovered from her shock and managed to contain a groan of frustration. "She can't hide that from him forever, you know," she sighed, adjusting her tunic ever so slightly. She had sand in her boots, and it itched terribly. She would have loved nothing better than to return to bed at that instant, and yet she knew she would not be able to, not with Ravea back and ill again.
No, she can not hide it forever, but she is doing an admirable job of it so far. She has not complained. Alinta was forced to drag her back under threat of making her comatose. Thayne said, less forcefully and with more amusement this time. Aliscia had to wonder if the massive and bad-tempered creature did have a sense of humor after all.
Regardless, the human woman now had a new problem to deal with, and it was in the form of a stubborn changeling girl. "All right. I'd better go see that she is getting her rest. Next time, tell me what is going on before you make me leave the house, please," she groused, though without malice.
That brought a rumble of amusement from both creatures as she turned and jogged back to the inn to find where the young girl had managed to put herself to sleep for the night.

How many times since he'd fallen asleep had The Nightmares been troubling him? He couldn't remember what he dreamed, nor did Tempest have any reason for why he woke up almost on a nightly basis, fear striking his heart like an icy spear. And, almost every time, Delame wanted to leave. The mere boy would start thrusting anything from the room that was his into the small bag into which he'd kept with him since he'd found Tempest's egg near the Water Wyrm Atalanta. How many years ago did that seem? Aeons, it had to be. This was one of those times where he started packing. Where he would go, he had no idea. He wouldn't venture too unbearably far from the Sand Pits. He wouldn't leave her. The sun had begun to rise, and Delame tossed the shoulder strap over one of his shoulders as he exited the inn. Would he return? He didn't care. Maybe all he needed to do was ride the winds again. In any case. Tempest, bury your eggs like a good motherhen and come on. I want to get out of here. Tempest's navy eye opened tiredly, having not really slept since the last time his Bonded had. Slowly, his tail curled up, sweeping sand over the two eggs which had come into his care. Spreading his larger set of wings, he flew to where the human boy stood, a smile not bothing to spring to Delame's lips in greeting. As the Wyrm landed, he lowered his head to nudge Delame wearily. Where to today, dare I ask? "Wherever your heavy wings take us, my friend. And this time... I'm not too certain we're going to return." Delame said, scratching his friend's muzzle. You say that every time we take off. Tempest pointed out, lowering himself so the human could jump on. Delame settled himself above Tempest's wings, closing his eyes and placing his head on the black hide beneath him. Tempest gave a small buck. You gotta stay awake or I'm not flying. He flapped his wings, trying to keep Delame awake. Delame responded with growling something along the lines of 'Five more minutes'. Tempest growled right back jumping up into the air for a moment, coming down with a hard impact. Delame's head shot up. "I get it, I get it!" He said, running his fingers through his black hair. I'm gonna scan over the sand pits. Tempest informed him. With a few pumps of his wings, they lifted off the ground. Slowly, he began to glide towards the pits, flapping only every once in a while in order to stay midair. Where do you think they are? "Either in Alinta's sandpit or home. Why don't you call for her? You seem to hear her when she calls for you." Delame suggested, awakened by the faintest rushing of wind courtesy of flying. He looked back at the inn which was getting tinier every second. I think you may be right. If so, we have two places in which to look. And I don't want to broadcast. I don't want him to hear. You and his bonded's last encounter wasn't precisely friendly. Tempest explained, looking back to see Delame nodding. They passed over Alinta's sandpit, both looking rather sad to not see the golden Wyrm or her lycan bonded beneath them. Silence prevailed as Tempest circled, trying to make sure they weren't there. As soon as they were sure, they turned towards the sun, which was fully above the horizon. I want to find out if he's there, Tempest said quietly as they wheeled towards the volcano. Delame nodded, Tempest gently trying to reach the younger wyrm. Alinta? ((That posteh okay?))

((It's okay to me, Randeh dear. whee ))
A massive amount of sand was displaced as Alinta's head and neck broke through the surface of her sandpit, the golden grains cascading like waterfalls down her neck and over the sides of her head. Her attention was not on the warm sand, however, but on the calling that she heard tugging at the back of her sleepy mind. Giving a mighty yawn, the young wyrm twitched her head to one side. Fluffbutt? she responded curiously, eventually standing up and casting the rest of the sand off her body. She and Ravea had gotten back to the inn late in the night, and after making sure Ravea was settled, the light wyrm had wandered into the caves and picked out 'her' new sandpit. She had tunnelled in quite happily, leaving only her nostrils showing above the sandy surface. Aliscia had walked right past her and never known she was there.
Hearing her bonded speaking to someone, Ravea gave a heavy sigh and went from the happy, dreamy state of semi-consciousness into the misery of being fully awake. She felt like a slug.... a massive slug.
You are not a slug. You have arms and legs. Alinta pointed out quite cheerily to the girl, shaking the sand off herself and moving happily toward the cave entrance and the slowly-brightening sunlight. Where are you, anyway?
My usual room. the changeling girl replied, stubbornly refusing to open her eyes. The bed was about as warm and comfortable a place as she could find nowadays, so she was not about to leave it just yet.
"Thought I'd find you here," Aliscia chuckled, her arms crossed over her chest as she regarded the girl half-curled on her side in the bed. "Xy and Thayne warned me you were back. Still trying to avoid the world?"
"Just for a few more minutes," Ravea replied, not surprised by Aliscia's appearance. She may not have been able to switch forms in her present state, but the girl could still hear very well. And as light as she was, Aliscia's steps still made noise. "Who is Alinta talking to?"
The woman gave her a bemused look. "She is talking to someone?"

((If you say so.))
Delame wasn't sure as to what exactly was happening, but he had a fair idea that Tempest had gotten a response. After all, Tempest had been far sleepier a few minutes ago, while now he was half about to do a flip mid-air. Delame's grip on Tempest tightened as the Wyrm dove and rose back up. He cursed quietly, though he had begun to smile slightly. He didn't interfere, contenting himself with Tempest's half of whatever conversation he was about to hold. Or, he would have. However, Tempest blocked him, ignoring Delame's yell. Alinta? It was a dumb question. Her sweet voice combined with the use of his nickname... A nickname no one else had ever used before. Where are you? Is Ravea's twin or his wyrm there? How are you? Where have you and Ravea been? His questions started off fast, but slowed. He thanked every star he could name that Delame was the only one who could see small dots of moisture at the corner of his eyes. His worry bounced off the wall he had built between himself and Delame. No need to worry the human. "Tempestdarnit!" Delame yelled over the whistling wind as Tempest flew ocer the sand pits, searching for any glimmer of gold the two pair of eyes could see. "Let me in!" He growled, his mind bashing against the wall, only to discover that such activities cause headaches. He lay his head against Tempest's back, trying to soothe his headache. It didn't do diddly squat. However, he was hit in the head by one of Tempest's tears as the wind finally whipped it off. "Tempest?" No response. "Teeeempest." Delame poked at the wyrm's side, lifting his head off enough so that another wave of headache kicked his head before he put it back down on Tempest's side. "Ooooh... That can't be good." He whispered. Tempest looked back, blinking away any more tears. Delame had begun to turn a greenish color. Tempest dropped lower as Delame slid back onto his tail, emptying his stomach onto the ground. Tempest slowed to a small glide, allowing Delame to get back above his wings before he took off above the sand again.

Oooh, of course it's me! Who else would it be? Alinta queried curiously, scuttling out into the sunshine. Tipping her golden head back, the young wyrm settled onto her haunches, eyes casting about the sky for some sight of her feathery friend. I'm here... outside the old volcano. They have nice sandpits here, and Aliscia has been watching out for Ravea. Ravea enjoys it here too. She has been getting good exercise and actually managed to pick up a skill in archery. She's getting quite good now. the youngling chirruped, rustling her wings against her back. And Raveo isn't here. Neither is Thrynor. They're off somewhere... not quite sure where.
Ravea, unable to listen in on Alinta's conversation, grunted with displeasure. The dratted beast was blocking her out again!! Why?!
Don't wanna upset your delicate constitution! Alinta inserted cheerfully into the changeling girl's mind before reforming the mental wall.
Seeing the expression on Ravea's face, Aliscia laughed and made her way to the bedside, dragging the covers off the teen. "Come on! You might as well get up now that she's awake and active. "
Not keen on moving, Ravea promptly harrumphed and stayed put, curling up into a ball as tightly as she could (which was a very loose curl, indeed). Her stomach felt queasy again, not to mention she was sore everywhere that she could think of, including a few unmentionable areas. She had been too tired to head out to meet Raveo as she had planned, so she and Alinta had returned. Now, she wished she would have gone on ahead.

The old volcano? We'll be there in a few minutes. I can't wait to see you again! Tempest replied, his wings beating all the quicker. His adrenaline began to flow, excitement flickering in his eyes.
"Where are we going?" Delame said, noticing as the pace picked up from 'wherever the wind may take us' to 'we need to get there in five minutes or less'. Tempest offered no response for what seemed to eb moments as the landscape began to change below them as they neared the volcano.
There. We are going to see Ravea and my Alinta. Tempest informed him, looking back to see Delame paling. Scared? His bonded shook his head, and the wyrm smiled. They werew nearing the dormant volcano, and he began searchimg for the flash of gold. My beauty, where are yoooou?

Burbling happily at her Tempest's eminent arrival, Alinta growled quietly as her view was obstructed. The inn's massive building was in her way. Shame be upon it! Folding her golden wings lightly against her sides, she trundled around the side of the building, tipping her head back to scan the skies yet again for the elusive air wyrm. I know you're around here somewhe-... Fluffbutt? she queried, spotting something moving in the sky. Warm as it was, it was still much colder than the warm sands, and she was itching to dive back in. The need to see her Tempest outweighed comfort for the moment, though.
"Up!"
Grumbling something about 'bossy adults!', Ravea gradually uncurled her body and lumbered to her feet, not bothering to fight as Aliscia shoved her toward the bathing room. Ignoring the 'Get clean, and go outside! Get some air!' command that was thrown in the room behind her, the changeling edged closer to the bathing pool, dipping one bare toe in. Well, it wasn't too bad. At least it wasn't sand-hot or ice-cold. Shedding her nightclothes in a pile, she eased her awkward body into the water, sighing happily as the water buoyed her up just a bit, making her feel a bit less... well... clumsy.

Tempest heard her call, looking down. Hold on. He ordered, not waiting for the already queasy boy to say no. His wings pinned to his sides, plummeting to the sand pit as quickly as possible. He landed near Alinta with a thud, the sand flying up and landing in his feathers and on his back (And bonded). Alinta!
"Where's Ravea?" Delame asked quietly, searching the sand pit. What had he been expecting? For her to be waiting for him? He didn't think so, now that he had a moment. His stomach continued to flip, though his dark blue eyes were still searching.

Tempest! Alinta cried joyfully, skittering across the ground to meet him, fairly flinging herself at him. You're here! You're here! she added, dancing about in anticipation. At Delame's question, she gestured impatiently at the house with a wing, too intent on nuzzling up to her Fluffbutt.
Ravea edged her way out of the bathing pool, wrapping herself securely in a towel. It did feel good to be clean, but now she was going to have to actually get up and do something. She resented that. With as swollen as her ankles were and as much as her back ached, she would love nothing better than to crawl back into bed. It wasn't to be, though, so she reluctantly dried herself off, searching about her room for her clothes.

Tempest shook, Delame slipping off. I am, I am! I've missed you so much! How're you? He asked, nuzzling her gently. Missing her was really an understatement. Without her, he felt incomplete. That was the truth. Just as love is too simple a word to describe how much he cared for her and would do anything for her.
Delame nodded at the pointing, running inside the house. "Raaaavea!" He called out, looking around for her.

Alinta crooned happily, getting as close as she could without being on top of the poor wyrm. I'm fine. Worried about Ravea a bit. She's cranky now, but don't tell Delame. He'll be too scared to see her. she giggled, nestling her head against his feathery side. Oh, how she had missed her large, warm friend! I've been doing a lot of thinking lately.
Aliscia had just wandered out of the kitchen when she heard the call. Poking her head into the main entryway, she grinned at the sight of the boy standing there. So... this was the famous-- no, infamous-- Delame. Ravea was going to be pleased. "She's in her normal room. Down that hallway. Third door on your right," she added, pointing down one of the halls. "And be warned; she's a bit uncomfortable and quite obstinate. But you already knew that," she chuckled before disappearing back into the kitchen.
Dressed now, Ravea gave into temptation and sat on her bed, idly running a hand across her belly. How did she always manage to fanangle herself into such difficult situations? She despised being fat and awkward and ugly and uncomfortable, though something told her that she would rather have this than labor pains.

I'm sure Ravea will be fine. Tempest said, his wings embracing the smaller wyrm. Thinking? A dangerous preoccupation for even the strongest of minds! Thinking of what, though, my light? He asked curiously.
Delame gave a small bow to the other woman before running to Ravea's room. He almot forgot to knock on the door in his eagerness to see her, but he stopped himself at the last moment, his fist gently knocking on the wood. "Ravea?"

Easy for you to say. You don't have to listen to her thoughts! Alinta reminded him, trying to wrap one of her wings about his body. And yes, I've been thinking! she said, looking highly affronted. I've been thinking about what really makes things good or evil.
Ravea was startled by the knocking on her door. Nobody knocked around here. Kivon just avoided her, and Aliscia walked right in. Who-
She swallowed. Oh, dear. She knew that voice, and she had a feeling this meeting would be rather awkward. "Yes, it's me. Come in!" she said, her voice sounding too cheerful even to her own ears. She was nervous... very nervous. Unfortunately, her child seemed to pick up on that for it began to kick again with a vengeance, doubling her over for a minute at the severity. Ugh.... definitely Raveo's neice or nephew...

Delame's been having nightmares. That's not much fun either. Tempest pointed out. Good and evil, he thought. Have you reached a conclusion? He asked, interested by the subject. He supposed it all depended on the individual, in his opinion.
Delame opened up the door, spotting Ravea doubled over. "Ravea! Are you okay?" He went to her, attempting to grab her arm to try and help her in case she fell. His nausea from before was still there, but was pushed back in his mind for worry to come forward.

Nightmares?! Why? Alinta asked curiously, snuggling as close as she dared. Ravea's sleep has been restless, but it's not nightmares. She just can't sleep straight through the night, and she is always tired. The little light wyrm arched her neck a bit, snorting out a few grains of sand that itched the inside of her nose. Mmm... I decided that evil hurts people. Good makes people happy.
"Fine! Just... ugh... won't stop kicking!" Ravea groused, looking quite surly at the moment. She gave her stomach an agitated rub and straightened, trying to keep her pale ears from turning a bright shade of red. Yes, this was quite awkward. "Ummmm...."
