Now you might be wondering what this thread is all about, yes? I am here to model our Aekea and render it all in 3-D.
I see this as a win-win because:
1 - We would have a 3-D model of Aekea
2 - We could have a town tour
3 - We could look around in the shops and buildings
4 - Good practice for me (Modeling (hard surface and organic), Texturing, Lighting and Rigging)
So what do ya say?
What I need is a LOT of references. When I mean a lot, I MEAN IT.
References needed:
[X] Blueprints of the entire town
[X] - Streets
[X] - Lots
[X] - Building placement
[ ] - etc.
[X] Blueprints of the individual buildings
[X] - View of the front (Line art and in color. Two must be separated. One for the modeling process and the other for texturing purposes)
[X] - View from the sides (Same as front)
[X] - View from the back (Same as front)
[X] - View from the top (Same as front)
[ ] - Floor plan
[ ] - View from the insides (all rooms if I'm taking the camera inside)
~~
For those who want me to model the insides of their buildings/stores:
You MUST have a floor plan and a view of the build from the insides. Like the views, one line art and the other is colored.
However, modeling your buildings is a service. The entire town itself, I'll do for free. The interior of the buildings have a price tag.
D8 I don't know how long the interiors are going to take me but I can tell you all right now, depending on the type of materials used for the texturing of the buildings and their interiors, the render time is going to be a VERY long one.
For a town tour, it's going to be even longer since we're talking about rendering frame by frame.
I want to start on this as soon as possible so that perhaps I can sharpen my skills when it comes down for the demo reel. owo
If you have any questions at all, please feel free to come and talk to me. =3
What I will be using:
Autodesk Maya 2009
Photoshop CS4
Final Cut Pro (Town/building Fly-throughs)

Progress:
This is Ground Zero!
Not all of the buildings have been added.
Topography isn't finished.
Most current buildings still look blah.
Building 19 is in progress, near general completion. Minor details still needed.
