The rebels were men, women, senior citizen and children. They defeated Matsukura 3000 men, but after that he sent 200,000 soldiers after them and seiged the castle they were staying in and ended up massacring 37,000 men, women, elderly, and children - Then Christianity in Japan went underground for a couple hundred years. (note the anime Ninja Resurrection is based on this)

lightburst ouch must of being really bad over there for some reason i don't hear much about religion over in japan specially christianity isn't it mostly buddhism over there? It is mostly a combination of buddhism and shinto. Christianity was brought to Japan in 1549 by Francis Xavier (the patron saint of Japan in Catholicism). Many missionary churches started up and even some lords converted to Christianity. The spread of Christianity was due to the fact that the Japanese were interested in western ideas and in a new weapon called "firearms". The shogun of japan was worried that western nations were trying to destroy Japan's culture or take it over so they banned missionaries and trade with Japan until the Meiji Restoration in 1873. Today around 1% of japan's population is Christian.

I read about them, and just buy the DVD if it sounds good, I also watch the previews, read reviews to see if I will like it. Note to self: make a yearly budget for anime or you will become an addict.

I like stuff that is a little more mature because on piece was really boring.
