So I started getting this annoying popup when I turned computer on today....... turned into me doing total scan of computer for 4 hours plus.
then found it only got part of the problem when I rebooted... so I wikipedia... "Spyware Protect 2009" I found out it is the latest in offspring of the dreaded Conficker worm.
so basically as a warning do noooooooooooooooooooooooot give in to the desire to pay for the "full version" of this spyware protect 2009 It is a malicious fake virus scan to make you think you have 34 plus viruses so you pay 50 bucks for something that doesn't work and gets your credit information. the conficker worm prevents you getting to the spyware removal sites so I had to get around it and go to an article that gave me a link the worm hadn't already tried to block me from....
moral of the story be veeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeery careful right now and do routine virus scans.

And that's why I only use the spyware that comes with my virus scan package.
Geez, you were able to get rid of it, at least? Worms are a pain to get rid off.

Also, if anyone has MSN, and recieve a message from someone you know saying "HAHAHA" don't click the link. It's a bad bad place.
not only do they get your password to infect all your friends they give you a virus.

Ooo I had something like that noxious but on aim it was embarrassing lol.
UPDATE I will be off maybe for a bit reformatting as I cannot get this stupid thing off my computer will be back up soon Ihope

I use trend pc cillin and ty comp seems to be ok
